It's their best song, in my opinion. Their best ballad, too. "A Grave Mistake" is good, but doesn't hold a candle to this. A good song doesn't have to be all "RAWR", full of death metal vocals, chunky riffs, and breakdowns to be good. The heaviest songs are the songs that tackle a real subject like this song does, not the song with the most brutal vocals and breakdown.

@@zacharyengle4256 anything ice nine has done after 2016 has been awful. You are completely right they don’t have to scream to be good look at the older acoustic songs they have done. This song is just awful they have plenty of better songs to play than this.

Their last their albums literally brought metalcore and deathcore into the Billboard top 20. They're clearly doing something right to get that kind of success with genres that rarely chart that high.

@@zacharyengle4256 That’s cool I don’t understand why their older stuff was way better. That’s what put them on the map in the first place. I can barley call them metacore let alone deathcore. You probably didn’t start listening to them until 2018. So explain to an older fan why they suck now it’s just 2 totally different eras of their music.

Tabitha Potter yes, and apparently a book in the 1800's basically she was raped, and he was murdered by her afterwards, so this whole court case is around if it was justified. It is still a common points in debates actually.

Its about a woman who was raped by a man who got away. She couldn't live with herself so she tracked him down herself and killed him. She was arrested and hanged for the murder. The book is called Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy.

Every song in this album is based on a book. The book this song is based on is about a girl dealing with a rape case.

There can be a lot of interpretations. The description of the pain the woman went through and the way she wants revenge because she is dead from the inside implies that she might be raped by the man and he went without punishment. But it could also be addressed to a father who left his family. That's why the girl is in so much pain and the mother weeps as well and they cannot live normally.

The song was based off of Tess of the d'Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy.
