Hi. I've got a lot of songs/albums and I'm editing their tags using the program "Mp3tag" (This program has a lot of editable tags for songs.) And also inside this app, there are 3 important tags that I'm so confused about them! "Label", "Copyright", "Publisher" On the back cover of the albums (into CD Jewel Case) there are a few Copyright Symbols that I want to add to the tags of my songs. But I don't know exactly where they should be added. Album #1 © 2002 Sony Music Entertainment. ℗ 2002 Sony Music Entertainment. Manufactured By Epic. A Divison of Sony Music. Album #2 © 2010 Little Dume Recordings. ℗ 2010 RCA Records, a unit of Sony Music Entertainment. Under licence from The Sony Music Custom Marketing Group, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Should I insert both of © & ℗ in the Copyright field or not? Should I insert the ℗ in the Publisher or Label field? Please explain to me simply, clearly & completely. Thanks.
Hello Rana, Label refers to the actual label that released the record, such as Epic or Little Dume. There are online websites such as Discogs that you can use to confirm this info. Publisher refers to the main conglomerate that owns the label, that being Sony Music Entertainment with the ℗. Copyright refers to the ©symbol and the holder of said copyright, that usually being the publisher. p.s. Mp3tag also has a FAQ section. community.mp3tag.de/c/howto/faq-frequently-asked-questions/9
Thanks for this quick and clear tutorial!
it seems like my volume antenna doesn’t work. it still mutes it when touched but thats it
Have you fixed it since?
Pareil, je n'arrive même pas à le configurer...
When calibrating and it says to move your hands close to the volume antenna, move it close, but dont touch it! Also, if you have the theremini on a table, that surface may mute it, so try moving it to the edge of the table :)
Damn good breakdown... In a simple way 👍!
In this video, you have assumed that this song is written, produced and performed by the same person - Sam singer. It can confuse songwriters, who do not produce or sing songs. In the above case, if Record Labels or Producers approach songwriters and get a song done, the sound recording royalties can be split between Producers, Performing Artists and Song Writers.
And what about the composition? If the song writer wrote the song but the producer made the beat, does the producer gets a piece of the composition royalties as well? Or only the royalties to the sound recording?
@@nin10do4eve in Copyright jargon, producer is not a person who creates the melody (or the beat). If the beat was created (out of thin air) by a person, that person owns the copyrights. We call beat makers as producers and confuses the whole copyright law identifications. So in your above example the person who “created” the beat (without copying someone else’s original beat), must own composition royalties.
@@Harshadewa So a composition copyright is for the beat maker, all an artist using their beat would need is the sound recording copyright? In the sound recording copyright, is it still important for the beat maker to be credited?
@@jammin9061 Yes due to Moral rights, normally you need to credit the songwriters (e.g. the one who wrote the original beat.). However, if there was an outright purchase/ transfer of copyrights from the original songwriter, then you may not give credit.
Excellent introduction - thanks!
Can I use it in my video?
We Spotify integration with more DJ software
So I can use it as long as I give credit? I didn't understand much as I am a simple kid
