The Cyphr despite being weak as hell was probably my favorite frame to ride. It was light and fit me perfectly and I learned so much stuff on that frame

My first KGB frame came to me just as I was learning front wheel combinations, once I settled into the frame, the rest was history and alot of high speed rolling hitchhikers-no handed. I'm not kidding.

I love these videos, sir! Keep up the great work! I had a question on these crazy mid school designs with the intersecting tubes. Was the CAD design/3D modeling done by the end company (KGB etc), or by the manufacturer (presumably in Taiwan). It’d be super-cool to see some of these, but totally appreciated that they’d likely archived away covered in dust for the past 20ish years!

Yes!! Right before bed haha I loved this company and Martti and Vicki such an insane combo when they came out. It blew my mind and was the sweetest and most bendy and unique to me ever. I have had and ridden the blue kgb psychonetta and then a neon green one as well for years and I loved them! I rather loved and enjoyed that 73.5 headtube angle as well. So shallow but now I’ll be used to trying minimal forks over 0 Anyways than I found my gem of a frame and never got another one I got it overseas and also got it custom powder coated a custom blue green and still have it Actually rebuilding for my second backup and daughter’s first flatland bike! She will also have the kgb pivot pedals. I have had the kgb Sargent bars loved and also the electros too. Now on MKs and is other company Jungle Rider and have his double diamand gem which is a first for me. Loved the video man as always! Ride on

Are you sure on the Focus Geo?? Dont have the tools to measure mine lol! But I SWEAR it was 74°, 19", 11.5", 13" I've always been fond of 74's it's why I got one haha! The CS's had the locking feature dealy which might be why I'm remembering 13" that might be centered with the adjusters?

I was from the Haro Freestyler era now I am crazy for Mid School Flatland.

not only did the pegs thread into the frame.. the pegs had rings that spun for rail grinds. The black portion of those pegs was a free spinning ring that you could replace when needed.

Basics were almost SBC. I like Whammy Bars.

Awesome episode again, Derek! Zion was mostly strong locally in Central Europe and then got picked up by Flatland Fuel and started to make waves, especially when they did the Low-Kee with Keelan and the Focus with Sam Foakes. This was the time when the OG Bikes brand was also really strong (probably stronger than Zion with its brand presence) and the EU single market was not really in the everyday life of the local population. However they dropped off around the 2008 financial crysis and its consequences in Europe about 2010 onwards. At least this was my observation. I remember seeing Focus frames on FF for 150 USD dreaming about them. They also ventured into the street frames and parts market but never really had a foothold there due to other brands. I also think that the Zion Luna is one of the nicest shaped flatland frames of its time. That was probably the peak times of flatland brands in the region, where you could produce individual designs in lower quantities. Certainly fresher than nowadays double triangle looks almost everywhere.

I bought a GT sohw in 1999. I liked it at the time because it was lightweight and easy to ride, but after 3 months the welds on the BB bracket and chainstay came off and I switched to an s&m Sabus. It is a beautiful frame and I still have it with me. I miss it.

This needs a reissue with a 19.5 tt.

I’ve always loved DTTs. My brother had a Torker, I still have my ‘88 Master, loved my St. Martin Ten and now have a Reklamation CIK. I’ve always wanted to try a Subrosa DTT. 🤘🏽😁

What a surprise. All the guys you mentioned from Midschool BMX Asia are my buddies in Thailand. A few Otogoki popped in our country recently. Myself own an Kiwame II, very unique design for sure. There are some serious collectors in Asia.

Thanks for this. You did a lot of homework. Late 90s Haro decals will forever have a special place in my heart. Sean Hargraves did those graffiti decals we love so much! I obsessed over Haro catalogs of that era and of course Chad is the greatest rider of all time.

This is a abomination when it comes down to Haro Masters . A single top tube , nope not for me . Any Haro made after 1995 once Bob Haro left Haro with the exception of all the Lineages & the re-issued , between 95 up to when the Lineages & re-issued came out are pure junk & ugly , that is when Haro went down hill . Now that John went to Hutch , let’s see what Haro comes out with in the fall of 2024 .

I had the 02 master frame in black with the bland decals. That frame alone weighed a little over 6 pounds! Also, the frame featured two brake positions on the upper chain stay area. Solid frame overall.

Can you do a video about ordering parts to the southern hemisphere south east Asia new Zealand and Australia it's very expensive because or tax fees from the USA . So a company with less import fees. Just say was to buy autum seat railed it cost 50 aud plus another 50 to get it here . Good channel

I’ve ridden the metropolitan and the instrumental and both were amazing quality and best I’ve ever ridden Wish there was a 19.3 or more metro out! Can’t do my no handed half hiker anymore cuz the frame cutout helped so much. Amazing welds and gussets and the bars were some of the sexiest out than. For sure.
