Re the discussion of "Media Comp(ensation)"... beyond what the rep said about the backer... different materials are more malleable/squishy/stretchy than others and ink saturation, humidity and, to a lessor degree, ambient temperature also effects the material. All of these parameters affects how the gnarled rollers/pinch rollers grip and propel the material. If I print scrim banner material with my vinyl setting, an 8 foot banner ends up a half inch short.
He really needs to learn to articulate and get a clear point across. I feel like in his head, he actually knows what to do, but he sucks at relaying it and should not be a rep or an instructor.

Guy sounds like a few of the boneheads that call themselves techies for Mimaki, they think they are the only guys that have ever worked with or on a printer. Would love to be able to name them to the parent company, as half these idiots are giving mimaki a bad name
i have a couple issues with my mimaki and cant get any help ... any of you guys willing to help a second? should be something simple im looking over.

I love it when demonstrators are guessing their way through a demo... Mediocre training. Sigh.....
As well as ICC Profiles, GPVC pretty much works well on any vinyl type. I use it for a testing basis on all media. It actually works better in some cases, Better than the actual ICC profile advised for the media.. Which is ridiculous. But it is good knowledge to have. When in doubt, Use GPVC ICC PROFILE ( GENERIC PVC ) PROFILE
I typically set up all my jobs on local 1. The only thing you will ever need to adjust is your cutting speed and cutting pressure. Which you can do on the fly.
