Chopin - Waltz in Am B.150
Frédéric Chopin wrote his Waltz for piano in A minor sometime between 1843 and 1848. It was published over 100 years later, in 1955, thus lacking an opus number. Because of this, it is often designated by its Brown catalogue number, B. 150. It is a piece with a strong folkloric component, both in the harmonic progression and the form. Marked Alegretto, it is 56 bars long, and it takes around two minutes to be performed.

Chopin - Grande valse brillante Op. 18
Просмотров 1166 лет назад
Fréderic Chopin composed his Waltz in E flat major, Op. 18 (also known as Grande Valse Brillante) in 1833. It was published the following year, being his first published waltz solo piano (although he had previously written a number of waltzes that were either destroyed or published posthumously). The title 'Grande Valse Brillante' was also given by Chopin to his Waltzes Op. 34, though in practi...

Sir Edward Elgar wrote Salut d'Amour, op. 12, in 1888. He originally conceived the work for violin and piano, and titled it Liebesgruss ('Love’s Greeting'), because of his fiancee's fluency in German. He presented it to her as his engangment present. The dedication on the score was written in French: "à Carice" (a smart combination of Elgar's wife name Caroline Alice, and the name to be given t...

Granados had the talent to combine the tradition of Central European late romanticism with the characteristics of Spanish music. we have recorded op. 50, a work that is unfortunately seldom played but one of the really great ones alongside Goyescas and Danzas españolas.
