    Thank you for mentioning services and their potentially retraumatising impacts! Very important but rarely exposed.

      @@candytwiggytwist3506 thanks 😊 Yes it is important for staff and services not to assume they will only help but consider the ways they may re-traumatize - reflecting on this can lead to positive changes in the ways services are offered

    Without medical diagnosis, much, much easier to see patterns of distress routed in people's lives and social histories, and today's society, economics and local and global politics. Patterns like these makes it potentially much easier to see what changes would reduce human stress - seems very obvious. But maybe currently too obvious and too challenging.

  • @Finne57
    @Finne57 4 месяца назад

    The most important idea from this that to me is made more explicit, is the greater possibility of showing how patterns link with what is happening in society, economics and politics. It seems almost too obvious - so too challenging. Society prefers to blame or at best accord a variety of identities or victimhood.

    As a retired medic (UK GP) I see your ideas around people who are patients becoming able to access services and support and benefits independent of whether or not they have a diagnosis as being something of enormous value and potential. Somatisation of distress, in particular, I see as a deeply enculturated method of obtaining relief and support in an NHS where the paradigm is one of entry via diagnosis - whether physical or mental and much more often physical. This paradigm described in PTMF may be an opportunity to make inroads into that label as ticket-in culture and to make entry to services instead about recognising people's discouragement and lack of meaning in a challenging situation - incidentally both very Adlerian ideas which I am training in.

  • @simonandrews4355
    @simonandrews4355 9 месяцев назад

    As a retired NHS GP and as an Adlerian Counsellor nearing the end of training - and indeed as a person who has journeyed through UK NHS Mental Health outpatient and inpatient services myself, I very much appreciate this thinking and this thoughtful approach to meaning in illness. It is quite astonishingly rich and helpful and full of potential and holism. It feels viscerally appealing and relevant. It has a feeling of 'right' and 'real' too and it is addressing concrete issues which are current and active. Thank you very much and may I encourage you to keep being bold and brave and challenging.

    Thank you for your excellent explanation of PTMF. As a traumatised survivor, I am coerced to understand what It is that I am surviving. When my greater interest would be something completely different. Such as, horticulture or geology or interior design or geography etc. Certainly not psychology or why people behave badly in society. Gotz Blome M.D. describes people professionally and in particular, characters that have been a subversive influence in their group all their lives. Currently, there is this type of nasty character as the leader of Syria. The people affected by him have fled in mass migration. What can you do about this subversive behaviour being inflicted secretly on masses of people. Let alone trafficked isolated children and people. Gotz Blome describes this person as the Centaury type in his book. They are male or female. " Advanced Bach Flower Therapy " A Scientific Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment. They behave as criminals. And there was a very nasty side in the life of Freddie Mercury ? ? The group had to accommodate inhuman behaviour.
