@@stackorstarve.6510 it's so nice to know there is a local watching my channel! I appreciate you watching and I'm glad you notice my garden!
I’m new to this, my boyfriend brought two home. He thought they didn’t need much water. I see the palms drying out so I started watering them every day (spraying the palms down and stems) not so much the soil. Should we water the soil too? Everyday? My palms are yellowing and idk what to do. Can you please tell me some tips? I’m thinking it’s because the temperature has gotten cooler. Until I seen your video saying that you give them a gallon a day. I do hear others saying not to overwater them. Your explanation makes sense to how they naturally grow. I had them for about two mths and they are just starting to yellow and they’re indoors.
Also should I take them outside?
@@toshapope5644 hello. Yes I've seen pics where they actually plant them straight in ponds in Florida. They do require lots of water. Also normal plant fertilizers just arnt enough. You need proper palm firtlizers. There very hungry plants. And yes in the summer I'd definitely take them outside after adjusting them in shade for a week to two weeks. They love sun, or you can keep them in shade. But putting them outside would definitely help them.
love banna plants. look so tropical. good work brother 👏

nice Hyophorbe lagenicaulis! its not slow growing indoors at all, very fast! but the difference between the verschafelltii you saw at the nursery and the lagenicaulis you bought is that the crown shaft is shorter and the fronds droop much more which will not be a detriment to your ceiling height for a long time.

Can I revive my lemon cypress after it wasn't cared for properly??
It depends in how bad it looks and if the foliage is dry all over the plant.
I bought a fern from a plant store that said it was an ostrich fern. Planted in a pot with filtered light and did fine all season but now we are at the end of April and I don’t see any sign of life. 😢Is this normal?im in zone 5 Il
Sadly it means it passed away. They don't really like it to cold and if the ground freezes it more then likely died. I never allow my pot to freeze.
Ugh I thought they were good in a zone 5. What would you suggest I plant in a fern? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you can drag them out, you are still a young guy 😉 if i can drag 25 of them in and out, you can do your Ravenea 😉❤
I work 12 hours at night. I wouldn't have the time to do that. They would mostly die. That and I prefer them in the ground cuz they can get tall and I wouldn't have to worry about having to sell them or anything. I just gotta worry about if government housing tells me to dig them up. Lol.

Skip the Butia. Why don’t you have a sabal minor yet?
Well I must accumulate some wealth first it's not cheap to buy palms and one must not forget they could still easily tell me to dig them up. It will take time but with due time I will get them. Also remember to I leave it to my viewers to help my grow and get things. I don't have to many subscribers yet. So it takes more time to get money as I am not making no financial progress on this platform yet. So it's going to take me time. Plus I grow other things then just palms. It's not all about palms my friend. Next video I do will not be palm related at all. But I am working on it. Plus working 12 hour shifts it's going to be much harder to plant things and garden this year.
Yeahhh. Anyone reading. Every palm is different and according to its environment and lighting I wouldn’t just buy a majesty and water it a lot cause it all depends and you may kill it, some light adequate water and some can grow beautifully only watering once every 4 weeks. So just be careful and let your majesty palm tell you what it needs
I am so sorry it took me this long to get back to you. And that's certainly true if you live in more tropical to subtropical regions where it's more humid then you certainly don't have to worry as much as the humidity alone prevents the soil from evaporating. But I find in my home unless you got a green house with lots of humidity or a grow space that you will have to water atleast every other day to everyday or if your getting days where there is no sun once a week. But that depends on your soil to. If you are using soil that holds more moisture then watering becomes less of an issue.
Sorry you have to work nights and twelve hour shifts 😢 I no how you feel I used to do that ,4 ,12 hour night shifts in health care, it's crap for youre life ,well its no life really ,sleep during the day and awake at night which is not normal for our bodies ,the circadian rhythm, a new study has said the impact on youre body and life expectancy of working a night shift is equivalent to smoking 20 cigarettes a night !
I mean I gotta do something though. I mean yeah it sucks like this weekend I'll just wake up go to work go home go back to bed and do the same over again. But I gotta make money for myself some way. RUclips isn't getting me anywhere yet. Lol. Got way more people watching who isn't subscribed compared to those who are. So gotta do something. But expect more videos soon when I actually get a full weekend off!

Not necessarily I've had people tell me that before and I've had them come back.
@@thegreenthumb6184 gotta be honest with yourself. It’s 20/80 at this point. Adonidia doesn’t “come back” like that I’m so sorry my dude. That’s how unfortunately confident I am that your buddies double was actually dead and finished before he even gave it to you. Dude gave you two dead Christmas palms I’m so sorry my dude 😢😭❤️
in summer it will be really beautiful. isn't there a possibility to chop down the trunk a little, so that you could keep it?
Sadly no this will kill the palm. Palm trees are different then other trees. And that's cuz there a species of subtropical to tropical grass.
your killing me.

Wow nice Christmas palm where did u buy it they r sold out everywhere
I didn't buy it it was given to me to try and heal it. If my friend moves to Florida this summer it will indeed go back to him.
But I guess he got it at an auction and he only payed 40 dollars for what should of been a 300 to 400 dollar palm easily. So he got more then just a deal. Lol they made no money off this palm at the auction.
@@thegreenthumb6184 did he pay $40 for it with two full crowns and he was the one that killed them? Or did he pay $40 for two dead palms with no crowns? 😲🥺😭

Thank you.
Nice palms any soil mix you recommend for Trachycarpus in pots? Be careful so the soil in the pot doesn’t freeze, it freezes more easily in the pot than in ground.
Yes I use high porosity professional planting mix. It has a lot of perlite in it. So it's nice and arid and allows the roots of the palm to breathe and it holds moisture but not so much where you gotta worry about the palm getting root rot. Mainly cuz it dries up quickly. I notice to that it doesn't freeze as easily as other soil mixes. Why I have my palms out right now and don't really worry about it unless the winds are really bringing that wind-chill down to allow the pots to freeze. Right now pots not freezing so I'm not worried later this evening I'll bring them in as temps will be lower.
