These are nasty critters! In a my state its illegal to catch and release groundhogs. You are legally required to put it to death when caught or take it to the DNR to be killed. They are invasive. Not just destroy crops but dig and collapse foundations, walls, outbuildings, garages, patios and decks. Releasing them back in the wild in a high fine offense. They destroy forests and waterways and endanger flood prone areas. I had 2 of these nasty beasts charge at me today after they attacked a farm animal. I tree'd one and shot it the other got hit but ran off. Awful creatures!

Why not just open the trap asap instead of stressing the animal? The trap should have been covered to begin with. Are you trapping cats to tnr or were specifically going after the groundhog,? I hope you educate yourself. No need to stress any animal

I would have put the barrel of my .22 rifle through the cage and busted his ass right between the eyes. No sense messing up the trap shooting him from a distance. Relocate that fucker to the ditch out back. I don't see why people try to move them around and make them someone else's problem. They're cute as hell especially the babies until they've caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.

I just let my dogs rip them apart. The winner is the one with the biggest piece. It does not depend on size but where they grab it. The 130 lb. dog grabbed a hind leg and the 100 lb. dog grabbed the neck. The big dog pulled the hind leg off and got mostly skin. One good thing about woodchucks is they did their own graves

it's decent to try relocation of the native wildlife ,as they were here long before humans came along-instead of taking their lives as though human convenience is more important than their existence. it's different with invasive species such as domestic cats, which destroy huge numbers of wildlife-33 wild bird species extinct already and 3 billion wild mammals killed yearly just for these cats "sport".

What I don't understand is why they titled it Sukiyaki... The original title is "I Look Up As I Walk" that's what he keeps singing on the tail end of the chorus. It would be like if the Japanese release of "No Other Love" was retitled "Hamburgers"... Kinda offensive, no? I understand retitling to a more memorable title, but at least give it a title that is pertinent to the song's feeling.

Tie a rope to the cage and throw it in a pond for 10 minutes! Sorry, i love animals and tried moving these guys miles away and spray painted an orange stripe down their backs. Non ever returned but the next day. I had more. After 2 of my horses injured themselves, along with thousands of vet bills. One animal breed had to go and it wasn't my horses. If their left in a trap for a few hours after caught. You probably won't catch another. Their smart!

Best thing to do is just put the trap in your vehicle, get to release location and open the door. Your just stressing the animal hanging around looking at it. Its already stressed being in the trap. Take a picture and move on.
