That would be helpful but i have no idea where to get dry ice around me. Plus the point of these videos is to do the build in a way that everyone can do it with minimal tools or specialty equipment. I went back with a flapper wheel on a drill and got the rest out. Wipe down with goo gone and its back to bare metal. Way less scratching and denting than using a hammer and chisel. I know it takes longer but the result was comparable in the end.

I used a sissor jack and some cinder blocks to hold it up. 3 cinderblocks are enough height to drop the engine and subframe onto a dolly and manipulate it out from under it.

To my knowledge theres not much more than the basic maintance stuff thats posted. Im doing a full teardown and rebuild. It may take some time but i promise it will be worth it. Its comments like this that remind me why im doing this! Thank you brother. Thanks for watching!

I only got 1 key with the car. When its said and done, ill have the doors, trunk lid, and ignition cyl swapped over from my other car. I have 3 keys for it.

I know. If you watched the full video you would see i explained that but im not reusing these axles as i have zzp axles ready to go in.

Glad i could help ya out! Remember to upgrade the oil pump with a hardened gear if you can. These engines dont like the ratcheting motion the 2 step makes the oil pump gear do.

@@Thecheaperguy yeah ima get it soon just got a new exedy clutch ima do a full timing kit from that guy too I just bought this thing with 160k and it's pretty much ok except the intercooler pump being dead but that all good now

I got mine at 201,000mi. Im not sure if its had a timing update recently or ever. I know im playing with time but it does run very smooth and i dont drive it too hard, or often for that matter. I only drive it about 20 days a year to and from shows or on errands on a nice day.

@chrisgriffin4097 i havent replaced that gear in mine so im not 100% but from what i know it is behind the timing cover. Seeing as the timing is directly tied to the oil system. It would make sense that its behind the cover.

Give me a few days to do it but to my knowledge it's only 5 wires and you do have to splice into the main harness. I dont really do shorts but ill post something up soon detailing the wire locations.

@chrisgriffin4097 all good brother. I'll look into filming it tomorrow. I should have done one at the time but that was right at the beginning of my youtube experience. So it just slipped under the project radar. Back then i took lots of pictures but didnt really make video content.

I will say that you should opt for the Hardened Oil Pump Gear from CatV Portworx if you are going to 2 step an LSJ. These engines have been known to grenade the stock oil pump gear so its definetly recomended.

Yeah well this aint canada eh. This car never sees snow and still has summer blend e85 in it. Typically if its near freezing outside it wont even start or takes forever. I got lucky today.

Should be fine with 80# injectors. Stock fuel pump can handle the flow. If you co with the 1050x injectors from ZZP you may need a higher capacity pump

Get ya one while theyre still dirt cheap. The last man standing game has already started. Id bet theres 1000 or less still in road worthy condition left thats plated and legal.

Salvage? It was clean and rust free when i got it. Just had some issues the previous owner created that needed fixed. Far from salvage though.

@makisupaPIGman 2.0 Ecotec w/ the stock M62 Supercharger. 2.9 pulley, 80# injectors, ZZP CAI, 3in Straight Pipe Exhaust, Full Cooling System Upgrade (Dual pass, FMIC, High Flow IC Pump, Tuned on E85 and a pile of other small things i wont bore you with. Its no where near finished. Eventually ill go big with the 1320 TVS, Cams, Valves, Springs, and Weisco Pistons. The goal is 500hp with a supercharger. Bc the sound is orgasmic.
