Vampire mosquitoes

Mosquitoes are a part of natures system, wiping out a species of mosquito could leave a predator without prey, or a plant without a pollinator. As part of their useful role, the larvae of mosquitoes live in water and provide food for fish and other wildlife, including larger larvae of other species such as dragonflies. see the mosquitoes life cycle.

Your video is incredible! Thank you for making this. I found 4 smaller, perfectly shaped circles. I couldn't help it, I needed to know! They were full of bright green worms and a larvae in each.

I have a quite a few of these nests inside the body of my bench vise in my workshop, the wasps and I have a symbiotic relationship, when they fly into the cavity to tend to the nest, I will stop banging, filing, grinding, etc. Once they fly away, I will then continue, but in all honesty, they don’t even acknowledge my existence. It is interesting and macabre at the same time, watching them fly in with some unfortunate paralysed insect, I have even seen them with a huntsman spider torso, with the legs snipped off.

Very chill wasp. Only one I don’t feel a need to spray or kill on sight. They just grab sediment or whatever from my balcony and mind their business.

Thank you for teaching me more about these wonderful creatures! Today I was about to throw out an old rolled-up rug that had been left outside, and found nine little nests just like this kind in two neat rows inside. I didn't know what I was looking at until someone else online helped me identify them, and I have to say I've been smitten. I had no idea some wasp species did pottery! Nature is beautiful.

The coolest thing about mud daubers, is that they are actually very docile. They can sting, but it's pretty rare. I had one in my window and I was able to coax it outside without any problem.

They keep building nests in my window. The noise they make doing it makes me go insane. Its like someone using an old dental drill with mud stuck in it. I dont care if they are chill, they are so loud when building.

Please help someone! There are other living creatures around me who fly, eat, build, reproduce, and God knows what else they do. Inability to live peacefully next to them. he built the small house several meters high, I could barely knock him down from there. And I have to repaint the whole wall. All I want is for my walls to be spotless and for these naughty living worms to perish who think they own the world.

Very accurate, I've seen these animals in the Canary islands before and they are extremely passive for wasps. I'd go as far to say that your more likely to be bitten by an ant than stung by one. The fact they are solitary creatures means if they are near or on your property they aren't really even a pest.
