guys i found a solution!! if you have a laptop then go to nividia control panel>MANAGE DISPLAY MODE>THEN FROM AUTOMATIC SET TO NVIDIA GPU ONLY. the display settings will show up again

Tip for young players: If you add these Adobe blocking rules to Windows Defender Firewall, and Defender advises your firewall is being managed by another app, you need to go and uninstall that other firewall app or alternatively block Adobe in that firewall app. An example is AVG - just search how to "block app in AVG firewall" and add the relevant blocking rules. You can also prove the app is trying to "phone home" by simply unplugging the Ethernet cable or disabling wi-fi, and if you confirm the "unlicensed Adobe app" error no longer comes up, it proves your device is 'connecting' to Adobe still; and it needs to be correctly blocked in your firewall. Note: this kills any internet dependent functionality such as AI for generative fill, etc, but that will always be a battle for non-licensed users.
