Thanks for the video! I have been considering the TopOak 270 and I would like to know if the bag leaks and lets water in when it is fully closed and zipped. Either when driving through bad weather or just having the awning stowed while the vehicle is parked during a storm. I currently have an OVS Nomad HD 270 and it leaks and holds water inside the bag so badly that the awning itself is actually sitting in the water until I go outside and unzip the bag to let the water drain out (and yes, I have called OVS, spoken to one of their engineers, confirmed everything was installed correctly including their rubber plugs in the channels in the back, they even sent extras, which also didn't help). I have also seen several videos with the same complaint on other brands of 270 awnings (Darche comes to mind specifically).

Hello and so far no, this year in Missouri we had more than our share of weather rain and snow and so far it hasn't, I made a trip to Kentucky and on the way home it poured the whole way at highway speeds. I was sure when I unzipped it, it would be full of water and I was surprised when it wasn't. One thing I did was run some silicone around the bolts where I attached it to my jeep bracket, and I always make sure the zippers are met in the middle at the bottom of the awning. I don't know if that has anything at all to do with it, but you may try that if you haven't already.

Had two ecoflow fridge both have failed. My second one is still under warranty but they do not have a replacement product for me or any repairability. They offered 50%of what i paid if i ship it back to them... I replaced my trusted dometic for the glacier as i wanted a dual zone sometimes and it aeem to fit the bill. Especially sinnce you can combine both compartments together for largee items. I may go back to my domtic as it never let me down even using it in a not so ventilated area. I used glacier the same way as the dometic and the domtic is still running 8 years later. I was thinking of the arb... But may need to do some research after seeing your video.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I have never tried the Dometic, sounds like it was solid for sure. The ARB did great until I closed it up in the trailer for the summer so I'm wondering if that was part of my issue, at least they were very easy and willing to quickly exchange it, so that was nice. Maybe someone will do better with a fridge that makes ice, it was nice to have!

I picked up a 270 awning a couple of years ago, cheap. I use those TopOak brackets to attach it to my tent. They're awesome. As to staking down the awning, if it's windy, stake it down at the poles. If it's raining, stake down between the poles to keep water from pooling. I've had mine up in a tropical storm, and yes, I had it staked at both poles and mid points. I usually always stake out the outside poles for rigidity. Attach a couple of eyebolts to the channel of your tent and use that to attach the tension cord. The one on your passenger side can be close to the rear as it's just to tension the awning. That'll keep it out of the way of your ladder and privacy enclosure. I run a very similar setup to yours so I've figured this out over the past couple years. When it comes time to replace my current awning (starting to show some wear and tear) I'll pickup the TopOak. I'm hoping they release a wall kit for it.

I have a very similar setup. Been running the same topper and TopOak tent for two years now. I like you ladder trick. Makes me think that's the way they intended it to be used. I pack my tent opposite of you though. I make the bed, laying the blankets nice and flat. The pillows go all the way to the front (I have the same mattress), cross bar goes down and then the ladder goes at the rear in the hoop of the cross bat. This way, when I pull in to camp, I hop on the tailgate, open the tent, pull the ladder out, pull the hoop all the way forward, open the valves on the mattress so it can inflate and then set up the ladder and finish deploying the tent.

Where did you get the panels? I'm having a hard time finding any I like as much as those!

I also had difficulty finding them. After measuring the gladiators' window, I figured out that the Ford F-150 model bed panel was very close in size, and the only place I could find them was on Amazon.

I don’t get why everyone is hating. I personally think it’s a nice design and it looks great especially with the bed canopy.

Not for my customers on months to years long trips, but I can agree it carries a tax for many causal campers.

I've messed up some projects over the years, but never like this... put some paint on the new holes before they rust..

Haha, right?! I should start a support group for project failures. But I did seal those holes with some silicon before the aluminum doors oxidized! Thanks for your tip.

Doyou have any classes for complete beginners in the STL area? I've just moved to St. Louis from Illinois, where fugitive recovery was basically reserved for LEO only, and I'm excited to live in a state where i can practice something i feel i would do really well at. I'm only interested in surety recovery as i am working full time from home and can only dedicate so much time to this but i really want to get started. And i want to do it the right way, by the book, every step of the way. I want to get licensed and learn the process, the ropes, do's and don't's, so i can do a thorough job and do my part to insure the surety recovery industry maintains a positive reputation. I also believe that when a person makes a promise, whether it be in the form of a signature or cash bond, they are meant to keep it. Please let me know how i might go about getting started, thank you in advance

Hello and welcome! I agree, please should, but nowadays most don't. Yes, it is good to have a system here in the State of Missouri. The first step in getting taking the 24-Hour Basic training class. If you choose to take it from me, the dates and times will be posted on our facebook page at SMOJS or Southern Missouri Judicial Services. We teach classes every other month. I hope this helps, Tim

I don't like the idea of bounty hunting in a castle law right to carry state it could end very badly.

I agree with you, it is more dangerous. I encourage bond agents to catch their skips outside and where they are distracted when possible.
