    This was very helpful for me. Thanks most everything I found was on the sensors . My sensor must be good because it’s telling me my vvt solenoid has been slacking on the job! I spent alot of time searching for it til I came across this video. 👍👍

    Hello, please help me. Acadia 10th year. 215 km mileage. High fuel consumption. I replaced the spark plugs, the valve cover gasket, cleaned the valve covers, cleaned the pcv valve, replaced the plunger, cleaned the throttle valve, and the hoses that go to the plunger. There was also oil in the air hose, I also cleaned it. But the fuel consumption is too high. I think it has to do with high engine revs. Which does not slow down when changing gears and coasting without gas. What do you think it could be or some sensor or regulator could be broken?

    I think going from under the Fender is the best way , remove the front left Tires and the Fender to get to where the belt and water pump are .... right ?

    • @budgoat9954
      @budgoat9954 2 года назад

      The fender is solid steel and cannot be removed easily. If so timing chain jobs in car would be easier!

    I replaced all 4 solenoids and still getting a p0011 code. I have a 2009 GMC Acadia it runs great but just can’t get the p0011 code off. I changed all camshaft position sensors, purge valve solenoid, oil sending unit and all 4 vvt solenoids. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I've read that changing the oil can fix the issue 50% of the time.

    Hi there , but we can not see anything clearly man , your small camera size and dark back ground makes it hard to know where the VVT Solenoid are , can you just tell me where they are in writing please ? Do you need to remove the Fuses box to get to them ? Thanks .

      i done mines i didn't move my fuse box....i use a mid size impact....take the black cover off cause ur arm gone rest on top of the engine to get into the small hole u have to move ur arm under the A/C line.....i stuck my magnet light behind the fuse box to the body of the car facing the belts on the engine for i can see...i stuck my mechanic mirror down in there for i can see where the bolts at bank 2 facing passenger firewall bank one facing passenger headlight 10mm bolt....with a mechanic light you'll be able to see the sensor if u look where the red cap at under that red cap on the engine are three sensor the one in the middle is not a cam sensor don't fool with it

    What code did you get ?

  • @tricko2286

    Awesome Video! Had P0023 (2012 Enclave) (also had P2099, P0430) engine chugging slightly in OD. Finally SOLVED it by replacing VVT Solenoid (think problem was: I cracked solenoid plastic housing when replacing my alternator), But first replaced Camshaft Position Sensor (see steps below) but didn't get rid of codes so I replaced VVT solenoid after solenoid connector cracked off in my hands when trying to unplug connector to test. Also used liquid electrical tape to reseal connector wires as they were pulled back from connector and showing bare wire. Side note: Did all the following and didn't solve it...ugh: Replaced the Camshaft position sensor & bank 2 lower O2 Sensor... but code came back. Bank 2 exhaust is located just to the left of the Oil fill cap (near top of engine). Unfortunately, it is hidden behind a ton of stuff that needs to be removed to get to it. Heres what it took: Detach negative battery cable from battery. Remove10mm holding ac line near top front. Remove (2) 10mm holding overflow tank (move aside). Remove Fusebox cover. Loosen (2) phillips 10mm bolts (holding fuse wire harness) inside fusebox. Remove (1) 13mm bolt connecting positive battery terminals to fusebox. Unclip and remove fusebox middle part (with fuses) removing wire harness from bottom. Unclip/remove fusebox bottom. Remove (3) 10mm fusebox aluminum baseplate. Unclip wire harnesses from baseplate. Remove (2) 15mm engine mount bolts (holding rubber figure 8 mount). Slide rubber figure 8 mount out sideways. Remove (2) 18 mm bolts from part of mount that bolts directly to engine. Remove (1) 10mm camshaft position sensor bolt. Remove sensor. Detach sensor wire clip. Reverse to replace everything. Lots of parts to remove - it wasn't that bad once I figured it all out but just a lot of little maneuvering to get such a small part out. I would give yourself 1.5 hours (or more) to remove and 1.5 hours to replace. This same/similar procedure can be used to get to the alternator on this car also but I'd also remove radiator hose for alternator and plastic shroud for alternator.

    Stupid question: Did you have to support the engine before removing the engine mount? If so, could you share placement? One more question: Did you have a code or how did you know to replace the VVT solenoid? Thanks for the video! Looking to tackle this myself.

      no, you don't have to. This mount doesn't hold engine, it prevents from twisting.
