le tigre first show (2/3/2000)
Le Tigre plays their first show at DUMBA on a snowy night in Brooklyn NY.
Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman, Sadie Benning, and JD Samson (with the A/V help).
I'm in the audience, but this was filmed by my friend, Jerome...wherever you are!

Could not find this on RUclips so I had to make a crappy video to share the song. Love the loudness and the riff. So simple, yet so fierce. Groovy.

a video I made to Unwound's Below the Salt. Pictures were taken from Brooklyn, NY and Portland, Oregon.
Bruh ive been knowing this band for a while now, but i had never watched a video of them live so i never realized kathleen was in this band!
QUICK SOME ONE GO BACK IN TIME AND PAY ALL THE INVOLVED! 🎉
fucking awesome. 🎉
Wow this is is terrible! B52 rip off by untalented hacks
So freakin' great! Amazing footage, and thank you for uploading! I'm sure even the band members would be stoked to see this! I'm discovering a bunch of cool old punk from a nearly-retired old coworker hippie/rocker dude (Love you, Joe!) He told me about X-ray Spex and a bunch of others!
I was here!! Wow, thanks for the upload. I was in the back near the kitchen(?) , 21, spent all my money flying to NYC from Arkansas to see a girl… I’d give anything to go back and drop all the perceived drama I was having and just take in the show. I loved the Julie Ruin album so much at the time and was so stoked to hear a couple of songs performed from it. Thankful I got to be here, thanks again for getting this out there!
Yes! The kitchen area! DUMBA was a collective and many people lived in that space. So glad you were there!
Sweetie was always my favorite Le Tigre song! This video is amazing! And seeing some songs from Julie Ruin live, especially Stay Monkey, was a real treat! Thank you for uploading this!

This is amazing. The chaos into Deceptacon. Love it.
raw as fuck. love it
had a feminist girlfriend she loved this band, never again
Who asked??????
Also man looked at your channel and I feel terrible not just for your ex feminist girlfriend but anyone who has the burden of knowing someone who actually believes the Paul is dead theory or any other bullshit conspiracy theory that you believe
@@Psychocandy85ignorance is blizz for you then. have fun with that
@truthgatherer2013 okay have fun with being a pathetic loser btw if you don’t like a band maybe just don’t engage with their music
My guy I hope you get the psychological help you so desperately need
If you're watching this, you're cooler than you think.
Oooh, thanks very much!
@@yancowles no problem. Le tigre's freaking cool.
i wish i could go back in time and be that cool. what an epic build up, to an awesome performance
How did it take me so long to find you!! ... unless I have in the past & possibly made the same comment. My memories been eff'd. Either way, I appreciate this! 🙆♀️💖 I've worshipped them since I was 12 (since Seether).
You might want to try another Hobby cuz this sucks
💀 this is le tigre the band disbanded ages ago and have a lot of success this is so funny
Dude they’re a massive band
This comment sucks, lol.
This song is really something else like really takes it time to build itself up
Thanks for uploading this
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for this! Was at this amazing sweaty gig, probably somewhere near the camera and remember waiting out in the snow until we finally got to warm up inside.
Awesome to meet someone else who was at this show!!! Have you seen them this year?

Oh
I've been on a 3-day Veruca Salt RUclips jag. This seems to be one their most unique songs I've heard yet. I LOVE IT.
ive been on one for a week now,not sure when itll end
4day jag here
Why the hell am I only discovering Le Tigre in 2021? I feel like so much time has been lost.
I feel the same, I just discovered Le Tigre only in 2023, I feel there is so much to learn from the history of this band, I'm excited
@@maxdraws908 same
Its never too late
You have the rest of your life to listen to their timeless music.
well on my end I found thme late too but I knew all about bikini kill like all the way back in 2002.
Reminds me of Live Skull, Codeine, Halcion, and early PJ Harvey. Beautiful bleakness with lots of mourning space between notes.
Thank you!!!!
Of all the album's I lost to a greedy landlord, I miss Blow it Out Your Ass the most.
I was in high school in 1993. So many memories

One of the most powerful songs I have Ever heard!
MC Hammer stinks!
You haven't yet experienced mumble rap...
@@victordaraban4695 "MC Hammer stinks, he stole my girl away..."
I like your "crappy" video for it. The negative photo effect suits the RAWRness of the song. VERY "groovy"🎸😊 =J
OneInAJillian thanks! I think this song rocks so much-do you follow VS on Facebook? There was a whole update on the history of this song. Or wait was it Instagram?
banda que me agrada.
Oh Veruca Salt-HoW Do i lOvE ThEe....lEt mE CoUnT The WaYs
ive been waiting years to just hear this song again, having my cds jacked and being too poor to buy the ep when if I could find it... this song grabbed my chest and ive never been in that kinda situation but this song makes anyone feel and understand it in my opinion. this song made me cry.
It is a very intense song.
Who is the ONE asshole to thumbs down this..?
One of my favorites by them. The guitar reminds me of Neil Young from Zuma.
Cortez the Killer is probably my favorite Neil Young track. Louise Post has made no secret of being a big fan of Neil, and agreed that the inspiration (though not mere imitation) was clearly there when she wrote this gem.
LOL, I haven't heard this in so many years. I used to play it over and over and over and over........ Right on!!!!
From Blow It Out your Ass...one of the hardest rockin little 4 song albums ever made.
www.vogue.com/13281759/veruca-salt-ghost-notes/ - the 6 year old is now a vogue writer and is interviewing the band. amazing!
Esta Canción esta bien fumada
ive known and loved VS since 1993. yet this song escaped me til today. guess karma didnt want me to have til now. i am one happy lady all over again.
Totally sounds like "Dresden Dolls"
The guitar sounds like a half paralyzed Chuck Berry mindlessly playing as doctors and nurses walk past him, ignoring him, because he's hard to understand anyway :P

oh, i was just wondering :) thanks for the upload
I can change that. I wasn't sure about copyright. (??)
