Good question..right now only a very old driver works, for performance and security reason I would personally tend to the newest driver but crytek is still investigating the issue of black shadows afaik. I doubt though you will get real good performance in Hunt as the card is below the recommended specs.

I didn't expect it but Crytek said in their stream they are indeed looking into the issue.

While I wished they would fix it... please don't shoot the messenger :( The 580 is sadly end of support, from what I know. I doubt AMD and Crytek will do anything to fix issues with these cards :(

@oldman-SPLOOSH well AMD said themselves they are not doing much more for these cards. That's the info I have :) www.anandtech.com/show/21126/amd-reduces-ongoing-driver-support-for-polaris-and-vega-gpus That generation of cards will mainly only get critical fixes and security patches in a separate driver package. But loose feature parity and only get new features and compatibility if available.

@@OehrchenVT AMD still releases driver versións with supports to games so your info is half true because, AMD will not release feature updates, but will release support and fix updates, that's AMD said from the first time.

Crytek said in their stream today they are looking into the problem. So maybe there will be a patch. However the older cards are not in the minimum requirements for the game. So let's see.

Lol. I'm not simping at all. But I have the ability to give constructive feedback and not just say the game is shit because I don't like the UI.

Probably. I heard many complains about necro, but it is such a good change not to babysit bodies anymore. Other complains I heard was bullet drop ruined the Sparks LRR.... I cannot find any problem with the Sparks. 145m is far enough.

Same. It was not the best UI but it was comfortable enough. Hope the next patches fix some of the issues.

@@GuilhermeMilanni Well, that doesn´t surprise me at all. Why would Australians play games about hunting giant spiders when that´s literally a regular tuesday for them? But jokes aside, a PvE mode would vastly improve the game. Kind of like a Steampunk version of Evolve.

Do you happen to use a 500 series GPU from AMD? I noticed the RDNA cards usually work fine but the older 500 series has some issues. With a friend the solution was to install driver version 22.11.2 even though it is incredibly old.

@@OehrchenVT yea, I have rx590 so I am not surprised it has issues (my upgrade got delayed delivery), but unfortunately that issue is also popping up for people with amd cards much newer than mine

@@OehrchenVT Install old drivers and you won't be able to play other games that use current drivers and use actual rendering programs. You should also completely clear your current drivers with another program if you want to have corrupt file. Nice move crytek -_-

Don't know what kind of hardware you have but I helped a friend yesterday fix extremely dark to just black shadows. He was still running an older RX 500 series GPU from AMD and the fix was installing an older driver. Though I doubt the RX 500 series will be able to run Hunt smoothly.

@@kerrrobertson3699 high vel spitzer is nerfed. I hate to play againdt some mosin spitzer sweatlord but in the end He has to be able to aim to headshot me. But they Buffed hip fire Spam or oneshot guns like shotgun, crossbow, levering fanning, dual pistol where you dont actually win a fight by being the better Player but just being more lucky and Spam shots at the enemy until He either gets a lucky Hit in and kills you whole being aimpunshed or you just Spam him dead.

@@kerrrobertson3699 its literally made so people who are not able to click pixels can win a fight by Holding leftclick while looking in your direction. Its made so some warzone players have fun.

Damn. Really sad to hear you are having so many issues. Yesterday I experienced very small stuttering when using dark sight, but apart from that no real issues. Hope they'll patch the issues you are having soon, so you can jump into the game again. Crossing my fingers for you.

The new screen is a little more technical, I feel. What I like is the timeline displayed on when you met a hunter, when kills were exchanged. That is a great addition on the mission summary.

True. Imagine being mad at a game one plays for years just because the menu is crap. It is still usable but just not good. Let's wait what the fixes bring.

Same. Sparks drops at 145m and I don't have issues with that at all. If I really need to fight at that long distance, I aim higher.

It is the way to go and its more than warranted. The devs ban you from discord and reddit if you speak about topics that they dont want criticism about. I have 3.5k hrs its my most played game of all time. I pretty much want this game to succeed more than the devs but the review bombing is exactly what the devs deserve. We have put up with garbage broken updates EVERY god damn event since the test server went down. I cant even remember the last update they released that didnt break something else. And they dont fix it until AFTER the event ends. Theres still some things that they broke events ago and still havent fixed like the bug that doesnt allow you to punch metal doors open anymore. So not only do we have to put up with all the bugs this event came with but even the damn menu has loads of bugs and even if it didnt the UI is absolute trash. It is an absolute downgrade. NO ONE ASKED FOR A NEW UI. We wanted a UI that was more fluid and easier to equip items. We wanted click and drag and what do they do instead? They do the opposite and make a completely new UI thats clearly designed for console peasant controller users. Most of their hardcore fanbase the people who spend the most time and money on this game are on PC. And because theyre greedy bastards too focused on reaching a new audience they give decide to go with the most garbage widespread AAA game menu. We vote with our wallets so review bombing is more than justified. If we want actual change we need to hit them where it hurts. Their wallet. Crytek is a business FIRST game dev second.

@@Hextin Thats honestly a fair point, I havent been playing the game for that long, but the part thats funny to me is that people arent review bombing about the bugs (which is something to actually review bomb about) but instead something that doesnt actually change the gameplay. Sure a good UI is important, but they want to attract more console players to the game, and you (should be) spending like 1/4 at most of your time in the menu, which is still a crazy amount of time to be in the menu. Once again, I liked the old ui, there wasnt anything particularly wrong with it, it was fine, and nobody cared about a new ui, but the new ui isnt that bad in my opinion. To each their own though.

@jman_soup For me personally "review bombing" is just to give negative reviews out of spite. If there are fair points made and constructive criticism placed, I think it is fair to place a negative review. Like you said most of the negative reviews just say "bad UI" and not much about bugs, which would be totally irrelevant to the majority of the game. Also I would be asking myself: Okay the UI is bad, what should be changed to make it better?

@@OehrchenVT exactly. nobody in the reviews is talking about how it could be changed or anything else, they instead go "i spend so much money on this game and i get this garbage ui?!?!?!", dont get me wrong i have seen some reviews about how AMD cards are really buggy on hunt or fps drops which are actual good reviews because they tell something that actually is important.

@@jman_soup there are some negative reviews which are absolutely legit, addressing specific points. In regards of AMD it mostly seems to be the 500 series which are already out of driver support. So they will most likely not receive a fix.

I'm curious. What is your opinion on the UI on console? Is it an improvement for console players?

They stated today Updates to the menu will be coming soon. Looking forward what is going to be improved. Right now it is a pain :-/

@@OehrchenVT I know right, it does make sense to think that, I thought that as well, only today after my friend told me his Masteries were still locked at 80 and were told to buy a DLC to upgrade his account for masteries. Tbh I think Central Tyria Masteries should be included in f2p, but what do I know!

Hey thanks for leaving a comment. I'm from Germany and unfortunately only have the German version of the game ready. The good old times where most games were still translated to several languages of the world including voice tracks haha :D

@breeckthon5144 Weiß nicht die alten Spiele hatten durchaus immer ihren Charme. Fand es auch interessant wie viele zu Mac portiert wurden. Heute ist die Portierungswelt irgendwie ein großes Durcheinander.

The older games run fine for me on Windows 11. Red Alert 3 is kinda broken at some places.

Na it is a "We need to make more money out of a dead franchise" moment. But even in greed publishers can do something good for the community.
