Great videos. I'm trying to get into the hobby but I'm lazy. (efficient?) Would you consider making a video for noobies that lists the species of fish, coral, anemones, etc. that would be best for a lazy reef? Ex: 2 clownfish per ?? liters of saltwater
What? This is lazy? I never clean filtration (because I don’t have any) and do water changes like once every year or two. For me the maintenance is cleaning the glass and feeding the fish. That’s it.
Bow to the master😃😃😃
the tank is not level
you are right. when setting up the tank, I didn't notice the ground is unlevel.
hi bro,are you from northern china😀
haha, is that so obvious?
@@cozyaquariumcc yeah,the accent😁
Been doing this way for so long haha I think I’m a lazy reefer hehe And really enjoy watching your videos keep it up <3
Lazy Reefer enjoy the most:P
My method is easier, only because my tank is smaller! No need for a pump. I just use a cup!
haha, I saw some super small table tank and they can also be really nice. You should also make some videos about your tank.
@@cozyaquariumcc aww very sweet. I think I’m too lazy to make a video hahaha
🫡 One lazy guy to another
Mine is similar, but I pump in and siphon out at the same time. I pump into the sump and take out near the bottom of the sand. This way my water change is done in 5 mins and I don't have to turn anything off.
A clever move👍 I assume your sand has bigger particles. One reason I don't do bottom siphoning is because my sand is easily sucked away.
@ I don't clean the sand, I just keep the siphon near the bottom. I use a manual siphon to remove the water :)
Good video my friend. My water changes are definitely not as easy as yours. I do lots of siphoning, scrub, and pick at rocks to remove algae and aiptasia. My corals don’t seem to mind me just dumping 5 gallon buckets strait in but the pumping method is a lot easier. Beautiful tank
Nice choice to pick out aiptasia during water exchange. I don't deal with them until they grow very big. But sometimes I pick out bubble algae by hand too. Cuz I couldn't find other ways to control them.
I used to do 30% WC weekly, but since i went to 10% biweekly, my corals are doing much better
Haha, huge relief both sides of the tank🤣🤣🤣
I see you have a Gobi sand sifter I had to get rid of one because it got sand all over my corals, but it kept the sand clean but just too much sand all over my corals.
I have the same problem, these gobies are famous for annoying corals lay low on the sand bed. But I do want someone to keep my sand clean. Right now I'm putting most fragile corals higher on the main rock. Only put bigger tougher corals on the sand bed, So I don't have to blow the sand off them every day.
Good advises. it's also possible to keep a mixed reef with a lot of SPS by changing water only once a month. Nutrient export balanced with nutrient consumption is the key. Dosing is also necessary for keeping SPS.
Wow so awesome Tufan. So you are managing aquaculture farms in Thailand? Thailand loves their Sea Bass, one of the main farmed fish. Let me ask you. In the USA my grocery store is ALDIs (a German based company). The following seafood they supply comes from China: Flounder, Tilapia, Cod, Salmon, Shrimp, and Scallops. I know the freshwater seafood is no doubt aqua cultured, but what about the saltwater seafood? In your opinion are these foods safe to eat? I would imagine there is some kind of quality control in China, although some of my Chinese friends said “ not always” 😮.
Thank you for your support. At present, more than 95% of the seafood products from China in the international market are farmed. Especially flounder, tilapia, shrimp, scallops and salmon. In fact, in all farming processes, there will be something that the public doesn't like. Before go to market, the authorities will run some checks, and if they break the rules, they will be punished. But is there some untested aqua products end up in supermarkets? I believe there is. However, the products used for export are subject to border inspection from both countries, and all exporters will avoid being investigated in the port of the other country and be returned. So, I think in general, China's export seafood is fine. There are far more dangerous things in the world than seafood :) :) :)
BTW I'm not directly managing a farm. I'm doing some technical work relate to farmed animal's health.
@@cozyaquariumccThanks for sharing your knowledge much appreciated! 🙏🐠
I’m so sad about the fire, was back in the USA when it happened. But happy you got to see JJ market. So you two are now living permanently in Thailand with your daughter ? If so fantastic and may you stay safe. Your saltwater videos are awesome keep them coming.
Yes. We are kinda permanently living in Bangkok. At least we are not planning to leave right now. But who knows whats gonna happen after years. The JJ market was amazing. Last week when we were there, that burnt place was tear down. Hope it will be rebuilt soon. Thanks for your support:)
well said!!!
Thanks :)
As a person who is interested in getting into saltwater aquariums, this was very useful information. Thank you.
Thank you and good luck with your tank to be:)
I always had the blue foot crawl over all my coral and damage a lot of my lps. They really get on my nerves. Sure do look cool though
I think they do need a pathway to go places they want. If no that pathway, yes, they don't care about our corals for sure.
Great video. You are in Thailand or china?
I'm in Thailand.
@@cozyaquariumcc Nice. My wife and I are building a house in Hua Hin and I am torn between installing a freshwater or saltwater tank. I've had both over the years, the freshwater was Discus and cardinal tetras, the saltwater was fish only. I've been to JJ fish market many times and was leaning toward freshwater, as they have this one specialty shop that is for south american fish..blew me away as they had wild caught discus and amazing assortment of tetras.....but only recently I sound the saltwater shops in the back corner of the market, plenty of nice fish some caught from Thai waters....where do you get your corals and fish from?
Nice choice for Hua Hin to build your house. We been there once. Very nice view. We got our corals also in JJ fish market, or they call Chatuchak Weekend market. I don't know how to describe the exact place, but it is very close to the bird zone.
Improve ur English
I would advise sucking the infection out rather than blowing it around the tank. You can then use a hydrogen peroxide dip to kill off the remaining infection. Also those corals are not sinularia but either lobophytum or sarcophytum. Very nice collection though :)
Great suugestion. Thank you.
Just subscribed!!!
Thank you:)
I can’t believe how well your family speaks English, especially your daughter!! Awesome video can you share what city you are from? 🙏
We are from China and live in Bangkok now.
@@cozyaquariumcc Welcome to Thailand! my wife and I are out in Hua Hin and are getting ready to setup a saltwater display tank for the living room..I am sure you have been to JJ fish market already....but Ive seen on youtube some amazing stores in China. good luck with your wild caught creatures.
很有趣!
谢谢:)
Nice video! I enjoyed it!
Thank you:)
Thank you for sharing your journey! Your daughter is so cute!
I’m a reefer and I’m fackin lazy
haha, I don't blame ya~
100% you can be a lazy reefer!!! Before I moved, I had a 6x2x45 with 4x1x1 sump and I didn't do a water change for over a year! Nitrates sat at 5, Phosphates sat at barely detectable with Hannah test kit. All I did was use an auto topoff for freshwater and an auto doser for trace elements. The sump had 4 large marine pure cubes, Skimmer and synthetic wool for mechanical filtration.
Another good example to learn
Very nice setup 👏👌🤙
Do you have to trim the GSP from spreading to sand, glass, or other rocks?
I only see it grow from rock to rock, it never spread to sand in my tanks. So when I don't want GSP to spread, I will just keep it off the main rocks and it works.
@@cozyaquariumcc thanks for the info
I have set up many emergency tanks and the coral were fine. No need to wait weeks to add coral. I wouldn’t put the fish through that without some kind of bottled bacteria though. Who knows though, maybe the fish would have been fine without the bottled bacteria because of the coral being in the tank also.

If corals are ok, the fish won't say a word :P
Beautiful tank, I love the way you take of your corals.
Thank you:)

For being a lazy reefer, your tank looks beautiful.
thank you:)
Nice looking tank. when i get a saltwater tank going. I want to do it lazy and enjoy it. Do not want to make it hard and time consuming. Thank you
Same idea. It should be a hobby, not chores.
thanks! very informative . .

Totally agree
That and for the freshwater aquarium hobby. My shrimp breeding setup of 4 tanks almost takes care of itself. All about stability.
Thank you for making this video, very good information.
Thank you>3
Very wise my friend, thanks for the video
Good job educating -- thorough & comprehensive!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
I have an arc eye hawkish in my 120 gallon reef. It’s beautiful and interesting to watch. If only it wouldn’t perch on my toadstool coral which keeps it from fully opening. I enjoy your videos and look forward to other species being highlighted.
Thank you for your support😃
Great video. Thanks for putting it in honest terms and no real advertising for products
