There is no free will. But that also doesn’t mean we do not have space and time in between the events and decisions you will make. In that time one only makes a decision based off extent of what he/she knows, observed, and been through. Taught. Experienced thus far in life.“If you take a glass of clean water and add sh*t to it, it becomes sh*t water”….. so if a what starts as a healthy baby grows up in sh*t, gets taught sh*t, eats sh*t, learns sh*t, and gets treated like sh*t, and sees not much other than sh*t, and has a clue of good and bad, legal and illegal, right and wrong. Until shown better and cleaned, will only make decisions based off of that experience, most likely those decisions will be bad. As someone who has grown up with severe pain and invisible illnesses, I do sense people struggling with trying to accept that other people have complex lives. It comes off like invalidation and angst.

No suicide is not always about revenge, sometimes it may be. My brother suicided 7 mths ago because he had a severe Traumatic Brain Injury but he definitely did not want to cause pain to others, of that I'm 110% certain.

Since I was a teen and heard the concert of determinism, 30 year’s ago, for the first time, I was convinced it is the truth! I still find meaning and beauty in my life, but still recognise it’s all determined from the moment time or whatever started everything. Don’t understand why people can’t or won’t believe it and still can find meaning in life. I feel I have free choices but recognise they’re because of something that happened before, no thought just pop out of nothing, even if it feels that way !!!

Maybe its just a mix of both

I don't think that theory applies to everyone. I've decided to take my life. My mind is made up and I can tell you right now that no way in hell and I put for revenge. I'm very much aware of the suffering that my loss will cause my loved ones but I feel that when I weigh the pain that my death will cause vs the pain my life will cause(both them and myself) it's a no brainier. I feel like I'm a burden and all I do is hurt people. I just want to stop hurting people and I want to also end my own suffering. So please Jordan don't go make blanket statements like , it's frankly just not true.
