Nice old jeep. Well done.
You mean a jump start? Exactly the same way as manual cars have been doing it since before that Jeep was even a sketch on a design board?
mommy issues
Is that high or low range in the transfer case (or does it not matter)?
For 6 weeks I push started my little Honda Civic, in the snow with no hill and no helper. It's easier than it looks if the motor is good.
Always 1st gear...
Soon there will be tutorial how to boil a potato.
This reminds me of my cousin in high school back in the 60's. He went about 3 months parking his old Chevy sedan on hills and starting it that way until he got around to getting a new starter motor.
Growing up in the 80's my dad had a '46 Chevy flatbed he used to make runs to the dump. Every week we'd throw the garbage in the back, push it out the driveway, turn downhill and start it this way. From my earliest memories until i was a teenager, so 12-15 years. One day somebody knocked on the front door and offered to buy it.
Or get your boyfriend to push it
OH yeah Man, That's the confirmation I was looking for. Thanks bro. I gave a like and a Sub for your channel.
Why does everybody say they need to pop the clutch in second gear? Every time I had to start my Firebird, I always pop the clutch in first gear because I got the engine revving higher faster, but everybody always tells me to do it in second year and I don’t understand why.
comes from doing it on dirtbikes where the engine has so much compression if you try it in first the rear wheel will just lock up. second gives the wheel more mechanical advantage to turn over the motor. I dont know if any car has this problem. maybe people just have some mechanical sympathy, its less violent in second.
First gear is a lot harder to push then second gear. And the engine wil turn faster if you bump start it from second gear making it easier to start
@@marnixkamminga8083you got it backwards, the engine will turn slower in second but that is what you want. When you start a vehicle (with a battery or using this method), you need to turn the engine a couple of seconds at 800 rpm, not a half second at 2000 rpm. Starting in second spreads the energy of the moving vehicle out over a longer period. This helps prevent the tires from skidding on gravel which happens if you try it in first. If you could push it fast enough, it would be even better to start in 3rd or higher. Whatever gear gets the engine to spin at 800-1000 rpm.
because now we tranformed and moved as a society into the model where corporation directly starting to revealing bit by bit that this whole thing is actually one big forced labor camp ad you should not be uppity. So cool designs slowly vanishing, utility of things going down, reliability and durability is almost non existent, taxation whom begin as a 2-5% idea just to cover a cost of governemnt + governement development is nowadays 57-85% forced extortion money, if not yield, there are mortal consequences, abodes getting smaller and smaller, cities are less connected with "outside" and are being split into "zones" (soon you gonna need special "green" passport to pass from one part city to another because of "ecology") and so on. All of this hidden behind "safety", "ecology" (because earth cant really defend itself and say a truth...car exhausts does not matter, burning oilfields and tyre deposits and burning coalmines matter and so does certain radio waves artificially heating the ionosphere). This ruling model is very different from previous ones: you can oppose deity, you can oppose church, you can oppose the idea whether its idea of communism, capitalism or any other -ism...all of that has its own flag, its own people, its own directors and all of that can be destroyed as history shows. But who in the right mind would oppose "safety" and "cleaner air" right ? And it has ever more evil twist....at the beginning those same corporation who deforested the planet, killed all the indigenous people, broke down the monuments, poisoned water, poisoned land and caused all the damages are the same ones who now preaching that you should surrender your wealth, your freedom, your comfort and your nationality and your traditions and your everything in the name of homogenic, green future without roots, without targets and you should just basically stfu and get to work. We living in the incredibly sick world and these subtle things seen on this short for example clearly showing it. Imaging living in the 50´s. Ice cream tasted so rich that you were saturated by milk and strawberry flavor after 5 spoons, cigarettes were so rich and flavorful that you could smell someone smoking Camel two block away and it was a pleasant smell, cars were cool, big, shiny and chromesque, riff raff was held in bay, spearation of society worked very well and there was no uprising and social conflicts, oranges were smaller but very very sweet and full tasting and globally everything was alright. Even in my country, destroyed by WW2 was everything bright. And people had smile on their faces mostly. Compare it with nowadays...
Why does it sound like it's a song about grilles and hoods
Hoods and Grills, for the win! FOR! THE! BOYS!💪 HOOOO-RAH!
Cars don't really have grills anymore
What kind of car was red one with jet on front hood? I have one of those jets .
Ah yess, the pedestrian anihilator 3000 hood
That’s why I drive a cybertruck
Just the hoods and grills, huh?
i dont know what it is, but i love hoods and grills.
For me its mainly on the older cars the new bmws just look like they have massive buck teeth
@@Cyclone684 1951 ford pickup, now those are some buck teeth i could get behind
So true 🙂

The Penrite oil is an Australian product and doesn't seem to be readily available in the US. Can anyone recommend a comparable oil from another manufacturer? Possibly "Miller's Vintage Green Gear Oil 140, GL1 Non-additive" ?
That's... uhh... NOT a stump. That's a weed.
A little hard on the clutch Howey!
That’s a bush. Lol
Getting ready to start my journey with my 46. Wouldn't have been as easy for me without yalls videos YALL THE BEST!

Ford built that model jeep because Bantam and Willys couldn't meet the Army demand
Ford built their Model GPW to the Willys pattern, including the Willys Overland 134 'Go Devil' engine, as _subcontractor_ to the contract for 'Truck, 1/4 Ton, 4X4, G503' which had been awarded to Willys Overland. Willys built over 360,000 of their Model MB by war's end while Ford produced just over 280,000 of their Model GPW under subcontract to Willys. Willys Overland was granted the contract to build 'Truck, 1/4 Ton, 4X4, G503' in July of 1941. American Austin had been pestering the U.S. Army to adopt a light scout car of their design from the mid 1920s, reorganized as American Bantam in 1938 and continued their efforts. In July of 1940, the Ordnance Department issued a bid to over 140 firms to build just what Bantam had been offering, but with the new Dana-Spicer 4WD transfer case. Only American Bantam and Willys Overland responded. Ford was pressured by Ordnance to join the bid. American Bantam provided the first (and closest to spec.) prototype to Fort Holabird in October of 1940, Willys Overland followed soon afterward. Ford's prototype appeared a month after that. Ordnance evaluated (severely abused) the initial prototypes, declared ownership of designs presented, issued small contracts to each which resulted in Bantam BRC, Willys MA. and Ford GP vehicles for further testing. In July of 1941 the contract to build 'Truck, 1/4 Ton, 4X4, G503' was awarded to Willys Overland, primarily on the strength of their 134 inch 'Go Devil' engine. Ford was named subcontractor soon thereafter. By war's end, Willys would produce over 360,000 of their Model MB while Ford would build over 280,000 of their Model GPW which indicated Government, 80 inch (P was Ford internal code for 80" wheelbase), to the Willys Pattern.
@@-oiiio-3993ford came up with the iconic seven slat grille. Rotating headlamps and other small mods such as. Ford. Logo on parts😊😊
@ No, the seven slot grille with hard mounted headlights in front of grille was the Willys Overland adaptation for their postwar 'Jeep Universal CJ2A' and was part of the Willys Overland trademark for 'Jeep'. Ford's stamped steel grille of 1942 had nine slots and, when submitted to ordnance, was mandated for all further production of 'G503', both Willys MB and Ford GPW. 'F' mark on parts was simply a quality control measure as the Ford GPW (Government, 80" wheelbase, Willys pattern) and Willys MB were to have complete parts interchange.
No wire cutter. Check out the WW2 yearly encampment at the Eisenhower farm in Gettysburg.
What's your point? Of the hundreds of thousands of 'Jeeps' produced during WW2, few were fitted ('in the field') with 'wire cutters'.
Don’t you remember that the government outlawed Hood Ornament’s. 1946 CJ2A. With a 1953 military trailer. And lots of extra parts for sale. Running $15,000
😂A cops nightmare 🤣🤣😃👍
Local LEO's like my restored Willys MB.
His back survives 500 miles per year in that Jeep. Wow!
I drive a restored Willys MB on the daily.
I drive a restored Willys MB.
Before ford patented the jeep
Ford did not patent the 'Jeep'. After the war, it was Willys who filed for and received trademark of the 'Jeep' name.
Ford did, however, design the stamped steel, nine slot grille with headlights on hinges behind. When Willys Overland adapted the G503 to civilian use, they redesigned the grille to seven slots with larger headlights in front. That was the trademarked 'Jeep' design. Trademark went to Willys Overland, passed to Kaiser Jeep, AMC, Chrysler, Stellantis. Ford never patented the 'Jeep'.
Love the Jeep 🫡
Nice Jeep 👍
I appreciate you guys but just pop them out I noticed you cut that part out please show us how they just pop out
Having one of the jeeps that was my dream back in the 80’s I’m glad u have that beautiful jeep Sir
Get one! I drive a restored 'late war standard' Willys MB, they can be found. Genuine original 'Slatties' are far more scarce and expensive.
Your crazy . That food will kill you
Pretty much any food in America will😂
It's pronounced as if it were spelled Willits the man's name was John Willis spelled with a y
Quite correct. Rhymes with 'Phyllis'.
He also mispronounces 'Garand'. It is pronounced _'Gar - end',_ not Garrand.
Aren't those German grenades
I used to haul heavy equipment from time to time I would haul stuff for military collectors. I think to myself holy shit don’t know what these people did for a living to afford this but right on congratulations and thank you for attempting to keep historical items in good condition so hopefully no one will ever forget
Top speed is 25mph!
That's why 500 miles is a lot. I was wondering as I can do that in a day
Absolute nonsense. I drive a restored Willys MB.
Would be great to see a parade of these on our bases in the USA. I bet our troops would love it.
Very Very rare slat grill 😮 I'm talking rare as rocking horse 💩
Rarer still would be a Bantam BRC.
Great video, thanks. How do you secure the brass horn bushing to the worm gear shaft? I understand the need to ream it out, but when you slide it on, how is it secured in place then? Currently rebuilding a 1943, and the current brass ring is cracked. Thank you.
Nice 👍
