SOUTHPORT: A Driving Tour... There's Not Much Open!
Take a drive with me along the famous sand dunes into the town of Southport for a look at the town centre and the seafront.
Southport is one of the leafier towns on the North West coast and boasts some of the highest house prices in the area and a host of celebrity residents. But it seems it's suffering from hard times with many attractions closed, including it's iconic pier.
Join me as we explore the town of Southport from the road in summer 2023.

BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE: The UK's Most Beautiful Place?
Просмотров 10 тыс.Год назад
I'm in the Lake District for a short walk along the marina area of Lake Windermere at Bowness-On-Windermere. This area is consistently voted by tourists and travel experts alike a the Most Beautiful Place in the UK. And you can see why. I visited on a warm, sunny June afternoon and the views and the whole feel of the place was outstanding. The camera doesn't do it justice. In this video, I walk...
MORECAMBE: (Part 1) Central Promenade Walk and AMAZING HISTORY!

In this first of three videos, I start at the north end of Morecambe on Central Promenade and Marine Drive. Walking along the sea front on a sunny day and showing how the town looks in 2023 and harking back to how the town used to be in it's heyday. Morecambe is a real sleeping giant of the UK seaside holiday resorts. And one that has an unbelievable amount of bad luck, misfortune, and underinv...

BLACKPOOL: A North Pier Tour in Summer 2023. It's HOT!
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Год назад
I take a walking tour onto the iconic North Pier in Blackpool in the sunshine to see how it looks as they get ready for the busy 2023 summer season.
There isnt TWO promenades..... The original promenade will always be the the only one. The marine lake is man made, so there used to be sand where that was, and the sea came right up the the promenade, and sometimes flooding lord street.
You were walking on the promenade, formally known as Marine Road East and West. Marine Drive is a new road connecting the town centre to the new railway station.
Nice place to visit can be very busy, big shortage of public toilets for amount of footfall.
A Greenwood
Brilliant ❤
Urgent! Election day is upon us! Vote BEZ for Bare!
World Tour of Britain great video apart from one thing you keep referring to "Windermere" as "Lake Windermere" you have made the mistake all tourists make when visiting Windermere. You called the Lake "Lake Windermere " what you have actually just said is Lake Winderlake because Mere is old English word meaning Lake so in reality you only need to say Windermere when talking about the Lake itself
I was born at Heysham in the 50's so spent my childhood in Heysham and Morecambe and went to school there. I remember all the places you listed. It was a magical place to spend a childhood. There are so many memories I wouldn't know where to start to tell you, but I remember things like the wonderful illuminations so well. It's so sad to see the soulless place Morecambe has become. 🤞one day it will improve.
Great memories my dads from morecambe spent years visiting my family here from a young boy to youth teenage years xmas and summer school holidays fond memmories. 70 s and 80 s busy place back in the days .
Love Bowness, great video subbed 😊
6:42 no one looks after the town the canopy is full of holes
2:14 no public transport area where pontins is ainsdale is a part of southport is actually nicer than the town centre the coast road is from woodvale to Crossens both areas of southport
Not "Heysham" but is pronounced "He-sham" by locals
I havve lived in Southport for he last 60 years. You are not completely accurate. Perhaps a bit more esearch needed
Great video,,I visit Morecambe when I can,,I enjoy the walk on the prom to Heysham,,,,, thanks
Me and my friends walked from the town centre to the beach next to pointins we didn't realise how long it was :/
Sadly it's turned into a dump
Your very right
Bowness on Windermere - the UK's most beautiful place? Personally as someone who lives a short drive away, I'd say no. I avoid the place like the plague. My idea of peace, tranquility and beauty is somewhere like Great Asby, near Appleby. It's a lovely, but quite small village, with a church, a pub and not a yellow line to be seen anywhere. Many of the residents there take the time to mow the grass verges outside their homes, and plant flowers and shrubs. There is no litter, and you can sit next to the church, and hear birdsong......There are no shops, tearooms etc, just peace and and tranquility...... Oh, and by the way, it isn't *Lake* Windermere. It's just Windermere, the same as the town itself..... The "mere" part of the name actually means a large open body of water.
I’ve visited the Lake District for decades on short breaks and try to go two or three times a year. Although I’ve been to Bowness on many an occasion either passing through or for the odd walk about it’s definitely never held any attraction for me. All depends what you’re looking for of course but I’ll take the quieter and more remote areas of the region any day of the week over this place.
Are you mental. It's STUNNING
@@LgghhHhhStunning? Only if your desire is the tourists crowds, busy shops, pubs and restaurants perhaps. Each to their own…but not an environment representative of my Lake District.
@davewood9888 your? Hmm I don't think so. Without the tourists it would loose a ton of investment. Enjoy it.
Absolute tosh! Adios?
Morecambe today is very much like Yorkshire...the best part is the road out of it!
it is in Yorkshire?
If you're going to make any public available video's.....you really do need to do your research and get your facts correct........as most of what you've said in this video is factually incorrect.
Wrong info missed out southports history ...
Great honest vid , Thank you
Most of what he says is actually very misleading
I agree with @timjohnson1436 on the lack of research ! I have to say though its an honest review from an outsiders point of view…will watch your other videos though
So many things wrong with what you state in this video!!
As a resident of Southport and keen historian a lot of what your saying is completely wrong !
Cut him some slack Jack, he's created a great vlog for Southport, and if he's made an error, instead of crying about it, why don't you be helpful and correct whatever errors there are. I enjoyed the vid!!
Hi, your video is so wrong. The Theatre is going to demolished and a new Convention Centre will be built. The closed building next to the Hotel was in fact a Casino and a Hungry Horse pub not a gym. The minature Railway is open and not boarded up. The pub on the front is called the Guelder Rose. If you did some simple research you would find that Pleasureland is open at the weekend from easter and fully during the school holidays.
Hee-sham
I have lived south of Bowness bay toward Storrs Park, and it's still classed as Bowness-on-Windermere. Please check your facts before you start declaring where Bowness-on-Windermere is actually located!
You certaintly can't get yourself "A Small Fishing Boat" on Windermere. Fishing on Windermere is restricted by fishing licences. Have you actually considered verifying your facts, before making such sweepingly inaccurate recommendations in your videos?
Bowness on Windermere is by no means "The bottommost shore of Windermere" by any classification. Bowness-on-Windermere is situated about halfway down the eastern bank of Windermere. Perhaps you should visit the rest of Windermere before you make uninformed comments about whereabouts Bowness-on-Windermere is actually located. (Perhaps consulting an ordnance survey map before composing your commentary might be a reasonable idea!)
Love all your videos. Look forward to seeing many more. Thankyou
So many lovley childhood memories. Thank you
Lovley video. My birth town in the early 60's
