Just a quick video of the Big Block 396 running after cleaning up the paint, Cleaning and painting the wheels, detailed the factory Caprice spinner hubcaps, new tires, replaced the trunk trim with the proper Caprice trim, and replaced the emblems with the proper Caprice emblems. The 1965 Caprice was a mid year addition to the Chevrolet line, and many of the emblems and trim are Caprice only, di...

Have you just been operating on it. Love your fashion sense.
Seems to have good torque and acceleration.
NIce 65 Caprice! I like the patina. What engine do you have in her? 396 or 327?
@@johnnyace1954 it is the 325 HP Big Block 396, with the 2 speed powerglide automatic transmission. 1965 was the 1st year of that engine.
Lookin alot better
Love the view over the hood!
Is the button on the shift knob a reverse lockout? I wondered if it was a 4-speed. Not sure what Lincolns had in them.
@1940limited the button on the shifter is to slide the shifter out of freewheeling and into a regular gear. The 1931 to 1934 Lincolns came with a 3 speed freewheeling standard transmission. When driving in town, you shift into 2nd without pushing the button and when you let off the gas, it goes into a neutral state and coasts. If you put your gas pedal down, it will go back into gear. If you are driving in hilly areas, you push the button, and advance the shifter a bit further in that gear, and it will go into regular gear where if you let off the gas, the car will slow down and stay engaged. Only 2nd and 3rd gears have the 2 positions.
Looking good 🇺🇲
First like! I love it! My vote is for a new black vinyl top, fix what the body needs including a new hood. Then paint it butternut yellow. 15x8 Cragar SS or slotted aluminum wheels and white letter tires, 255/60/15 all around. A mild hydraulic roller cam, ACE fuel injection, a 4L80E trans, headers and 2 1/2" exhaust with some not very loud mufflers. Perfect daily driver and cruiser.
With blue guts….id go with a blue sapphire from 91-92 Cadillac or a white or black.
This gem in the rough needs a new hood, new black vinyl top and the body smoothed out and the be painted butternut yellow. Put a mild hydraulic roller cam in and an ACE fuel injection and a 4L80E trans. What a great every day driver and cruiser. It'll last forever.
Almost same as the Impala
The dashes of cars of that are are all about the same. Actually the gauges are very easy to see.
The car sold for 6,000. someone got a fantastic deal. Thats how auctions go.
Love the car, but the dash looks a little hard to read, as it is kind of small. But the car is beautiful.
Very Nice, only wish I was able to buy it 😎😎😎
I think that double clutch and double de-clutch at every shift could be an acceptable option to not graterw the gearbox 😅
You can shift it without the clutch perfectly with some practice.

Amazing! I have a 1926 Tudor sedan myself and I was wondering what the top speed of those speedsters was. Is there something inherently different, other than shape and body, that changes boosts their performance, or is that as far as it goes regarding changes between normal and speedster Model Ts?
It really depends! Some choose to bypass the mag and use a distributor for better ignition, there are high compression heads for more power, auxiliary transmissions for more speed, etc. A speedster can have just a different body, or be a practically different car altogether. Completely up to the builder
How much Sir $ ???

I absolutely love driving this old Lincoln. I always imagine running booze as I drive the old 2 lane blacktop around the area.
👍🏾
How can I purchase this
I still have the car. You can call me at 713-992-1086.
Very clean car....but as the video started, I was trying to figure out why you had a cover on it....while it was randomly parked in, what appears, to be a parking lot for a playground. 🤔
Nice car!
It’s crazy that that’s original paint!😮
very snazzy
