In order to do two at a time do you need two sets of the applipop tool?
🤺💐
🤺💐
Thank you. Ive been looking at the b77 for a year. At the time a little pricy - $1,500 -$2,000.. As of 09-01-24 price reduction. It has now become affordable $999.99. This looks like a very nice machine. Modern updated features, metal structure. Not many vids demonstrating functions esp 500 stitches. Your machine is quiet. I will miss the foot leaver, wish it had popout needle plate. Also contemplaiting janome s7. Also very nice. But it doesnt have 500 stitches. Going to be fun, 500 stitches. 🤺💐
@@Whatsnormal637 I adore all the stitches! There are pros and cons to every machine, but I certainly feel the pros easily outweigh the cons on the B-77! More stitches to come!
@@SwanAmity I've looked at repair vids - vintage, modern. There aren't any on the 77. That's good. Many good reviews. Some technical errors, operator errors, nothing spectacular. A good shop will make it right. 🙋 🤺💐
Let's stitch
Sweet
I need to prepare a larger motif for appliqué by using smaller pieces to build the large motif. In trying to figure out which pieces I should cut on line and which pieces I should leave a seam allowance, per your video, I’m getting quite confused. Do you ever allow viewers to send a photo of their motif to you for clarification and instruction? Many thanks.
@@daylepeterson5101 I have a general thought process of leaving seam allowance on the sides of pieces pointing toward the center of the motif and on some sides pointing inward to another piece (obviously not on both pieces). I would be happy to look at an example of what you're working on and provide advice! Feel free to email your image to swanamity@gmail.com
Thank you so much Swan for making this video so easy to understand with very helpful, detailed tips and even suggesting tools for cutting, saving hands/fingers from bruising and specialty needles for sewing together the petals of the kanzashi flowers. Your instructional videos are very clear and I'm so thankful for them! Other videos on youtube don't even share the needles that they use or even the brands of the rotary cutters. I will be purchasing gloves from your website which will hopefully help a clumsy person like me be safe and provide cushioning for sensitive bones during such dangerous projects. THANK YOU!!! I hope you don't have to make so many flowers...putting the needle through a bundle of them looked painful..such a painful hobby to have :( I am making these flowers for the medical team that is treating my ears and salivary glands for melanoma. Otherwise,I wouldn't engage in these crafting activities because of pressure points on fingers being triggered and 100% inducing ptosis/drooping eyelids/eye strokes..your tips for using a thimble and the correct needle with cutter was very helpful. Hopefully you can purchase a cricut machine to help you with cutting !!
I am so happy to be able to offer you helpful information and suggestions! All the best to you with your treatments. ❤️
I had just purchased a large dragon applique pattern & suddenly felt a tad challenged on how to transfer it in order to assemble it. Thank you for your clear, easy-to-follow instructions.
You're ever so welcome!
Looks much better than stenciling =) What finger trolley are you using?
I like the finger stilettos/trolley needles from Hummingbird Quilt Studio. You can find them on my website here. www.swanamity.com/tools
@@SwanAmity I have seen the finger trolleys on many sites, but some say that those that only have a large needle attached to a finger ring are very uncomfortable and then not used =( I thought maybe yours was made differently
@@cynthialeslein1786 I've often seen people wearing their finger stilettos incorrectly. In my applique videos, I show my followers how to wear them comfortably, so that the joint of your finger isn't impacted. I have never felt uncomfortable in mine. 💜
@@SwanAmity Thanks SO much for responding. I understand what you are saying, so I think I will give them a try - I simple love all forms of applique, and it looks like it would be of great assistance. Have a fantastic week!
I love the snail trail the b77 is so smooth and quiet.
I agree! The machine is very smooth.
Can you make a whole bag like this please
I don't see why not. It's essentially how I made mine.
I find it difficult to make small shapes like that on my longarm. However if I expand the scale a bit it can get done
Absolutely! I feel like many shapes that work well on a longarm can be downsized to the domestic and vice versa. 💜
You make this looks so easy ! It's so relaxing for me to watch you especially I own a Bernette b77 . I learned a lot so far . Thank you !❤
Such a great machine! I'm glad you like the new videos. ❤
What do these look like as a whole quilt top?
Hi Kate, you can see the different versions laid out on the Summer Scrap Elimination blog from 2021. www.swanamity.com/single-post/the-summer-scrap-elimination-2021-week-6
You forgot to finish these piece
When working with applique that will be layered with other pieces, we only turn over the portions of the piece that will not be under another piece. If you're referring to the two ears I didn't turn in the video, they were not forgotten, but turning them in the video would have just been repetitive instead of instructive.
Good instructions and explanations. Good lighting and camera views.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Brilliant! A real eye-opener!
So glad you enjoyed the idea!
Hi Swan, I'm really happy I found you. Actually, I was at a party and was talking to your Aunt Shirley. She turned me on to your video, etc. I quilt with the same machine. I'm excited. I feel like I can do this!! ❤️✌️
Practice makes beautiful! I know you can do it! Keep me updated!
SO YOU LEAVE YOUR FREEZER PAPER ON N DONT TAKE ITOF
The freezer paper stays in until I'm ready to stitch the appliqué piece on the project. Then I peel the paper out and stitch the shape into place.
YOU DIDNG TAKE THE PAPER OFF HOW DOES THAT WORK
The paper comes out of the appliqué pieces only when you are ready to stitch and then it is easy to pop it out. Until you're ready to stitch, the paper stays in to keep the piece stable and easily stored.
Fabulous way to prep circles for applique!!
Do you have a pattern for just the face of a corgi?
I only carry Lisa's larger pattern, but you can also search Lisa Fryxell on Etsy and see if one of her other patterns might suit you, though I'm not sure that she has a stand alone Corgi Face.
How do you get a pattern like this?
Hi Tiffany! Life's a Beach Corgi is available on my website as a pattern if you like this one. www.swanamity.com/product-page/life-s-a-beach-corgis
Why is it that you have to press needle down button every time you stopped. Does the Bernette B77 not have a funtion where when you press the button for needle down that when you stop the needle is always in the down position.
That's all you got from it? Picky, picky, picky.
But I was wondering the same thing it does seem to make it awkward.
The B-77 does allow you to program the needle down to land in the down position. I admit that when I got started with her, I was eager to test out some new thread and didn't take the time to read my manual before I got busy with some fun ideas. Fear not! If you love the B-77, you indeed have options on how you handle the needle down programming.
@@BobDeGuerre sorry the comment upset you. I didn't say that I didn't get anything out of the tutorial. Just wanted to know if the machine had the function

This is so beautiful
Thank you!
Nice variety of circles. One of my quilting goals this year is to start free motion quilting by making sample swatches. Nice video shots and narrative. Will save this video.
Happy to give you ideas!
I just bought two sets on Etsy. I am awaiting their arrival.
I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks Swan! It looks like the rotory cutter will work for us lefties as well.
It does indeed!
Very nice. Enjoy.
woohoo-really unusual -sleep well-🙃
These are very pretty. I really like this. Thank you for sharing this with us.
My pleasure!
Love love oh my goodness great❤😊
Glad you enjoy it!
Hi. Was the dancer hand stitched? Blanket stitch?
Glad you asked! The dancer was fused with Soft Fuse and blanket stitched on my machine.
@@SwanAmity thank you
I just had to repair one of these that my cat loves, and yet was tearing to shreds.
Gotta keep those kitties happy!
Great tip, and wouldn’t this make a lovely quilt pattern!
Thank you! I agree that this would make a fabulous quilt pattern!
😬 *promo sm*
Thank you for filming this tutorial per my request. Beautifully done and so helpful! Do you have a video that shows how you prep an applique piece with an inside point using starch and freezer paper? Just not sure how to do that per your method. Thanks for all of your helpful tips and tutorials!
You're so welcome, Catherine! I might have one that shows an inside point. Let me look. If not, I would be happy to add that to the applique playlist when I get back into town next week. 💜
Thank you Swan! Impeccable!
You're quite welcome, Tracey!
I am new to your channel. What machine are you using? Love this and the dancers are gorgeous..
Thank you for joining me! I mostly work on a Juki 2010 (the one I'm using in this video is named Lt. Trouble). I'm delighted you like the dancers!
I like how you slow stitch. I have a tendency to go fast and I mess up. Thank you for this video.
I always slow down when precision comes into play. I hope the video will give you good ideas. Happy Stitching!
Great information…turned out perfect..thank you again
You are ever so welcome! I'm so glad to be of help!
great video and the dancer is amazing
Thank you! So glad you like the dancers!
Hello Swan! TY for the video.I had to buy a ballerina applique! So cool😊 Could I ask where to buy the background material behind the ballerina?
Let me check and see if that fabric is still available. It was from Island Batik, but I'm not sure if they are still doing that color background. I know they do have something similar though.
Hi Tracey, i managed to find a retailer that still has the Tiki Punch Dot Hibiscus background fabric. Check out the Heartfelt website at the following link www.heartfeltpages.com/shop/c/p/Island-Batik---Tiki-Punch-Dot-Hibiscus-Rainbow-112006875-x56211813.htm
@@SwanAmity Thank you so much Swan!! I looked for quite awhile online and didn’t find it. The time you took to find it for me is greatly appreciated! You are truly awesome!
I LOVE using the hair clips. The plastic coating does eventually break, but they are so cheap, it doesn't matter. I get 20 for a $1 at a generic dollar store. I've also discovered Aleene's turbo tacky glue, which I use to glue the binding in place, then clip...No More Shifting and having to redo areas!! Once dry, I can even remove the clips before sewing.😊
Ohhhhh. This looks nice????
It's a simple design to work with!
Very charming and unique implementation of the rail fence block.
Thank you so much . I'm happy to send you in good directions.
Can you gives us an update? Im curious if the sticky side holds up after a year of use, fabric fluff, dust etc.
I'm happy to Cate! I've been using Ideal Seam Guides for about 8 years and I don't piece anything without them. Whenever I take one off the machine, I wash the sticky side with a little soap and water or Scrubbing Bubbles if there is a lot of lint. I rinse it and let it dry completely before I put it back in place on the machine. Eventually the sticky material will wear out, but for me that happens after multiple years of use. Sew Very Smooth sells inexpensive replacement strips of their sticky material and you can purchase them to rejuvenate your seam guide when it finally does need new sticky material. The one I opened up fresh from the new package last year is still going strong and in great shape despite how much I've had it in use! Thank you for your question! 💜
This is great, can you back your camera back a bit to see the whole block
I was somewhat limited with my set up when I made this video, but you can see the whole block and arrangements of the quilt with multiple blocks if you visit the blog associated with this video.
