it looks like the Yaesu frg-100 is more better at RX by about 5S units, I wonder if there are any settings in the software for the Icom SDR to help improve the receive.

Nice video.. i just bought the d808... the airport is just 9km from my location.. the area is flat and there are not big buldings.. just 1 or 2 level houses... but even that I have a long wire pending on the roof that I attach to the antena with a "caiman"... I cannot hear anything in the airband 😟... do you thing is the kind of antenna im using? Or do I need to use a jack on my wire to plug it in the radio to hear anything?

Deceptive; you are actually running SDR# software on a Windows PC and just using android to connect to that PC via a remote desktop/viewer. That's not the same thing as running SDR# on Android as the title of the video would lead you to believe.

Hello. I am so grateful to you for those videos that you made about Yupiteru 7100. This is the almost only opportunity to listen to the sound and at least see it. PLEASE HELP! Now i found Yupiteru 7200 in sale working fine, but in bad condition - buttons, plastic... And i found 7100 model for same money in almost new condition. Difference only "narrow AM mode" , which was added to 7200. I'm not as experienced as you. PLEASE explain to me what is better to take? Is this distinction very useful if I am going to listen in on flight communications

Hi, I have been using my ICOM IC-A22 for so many years now and that I am very happy with the unit. While I already need to replace its original battery pack (CM-166), instead of buying an original pack, I was told its cheaper to replace the 10 pieces - 2/3A batteries inside the pack, probably even using a higher mAh than the original 600mAh. That way, I could use the radio much - much longer. Is this something you can recommend? Will this not damage the radio? Your thoughts / opinion on the matter will be appreciated. Thanks & regards!

Pity these DSP radios sound so bad on SSB, if you haven't already tried the Tecsun PL-680 it's vastly better, ECSS works really great and it's easier to tune the BFO, the 680 is a real DX machine because ECSS sounds so good.

Which radio receiver better receives fm frequencies with a standard telescopic antenna at a considerable distance (tens of kilometers) from the transmitter? D-808 or pl-310et?

Radiwow r-108 doesn't receive LW and MW well very poor performance , It's Good FM receiver

You could be right that the icom seems a bit better on recieve but it could be down to the speaker frequency response and settings on the radio.

R-108 does have fine tuning!

If you want to do a real world RX test, just tune in to the ATIS, it is transmitting continuously from the ground and is ideal for such a signal to noise test. In your test only the ground station, the ATC lady is significant for a comparison, since the planes vary their signal depending on their bank angle and direction because line of sight will make no big audible difference within the first 50 kilometers, considering they are running some 5-50 Watts AM on an antenna that is a bit smaller than a quarter wave but still relatively efficient. To my ears it sounds like the 108 sounds almost better than the scanner and better than the 808. The beauty of the 808 is that you can adjust the bandwidth for ideal s/n and you have a squelch, which is unique on most portable radios, while it is standard on scanners. Little hint for better testing conditions and no stress plugging antennas from one radio to another: You can take a high dynamic ultra low noise preamp from ebay for a few bucks and use a cheap multiport satellite TV splitter (e.g. 5-2500MHz, 1 in, 6 out) behind the amp and you will have well isolated signals for each radio which give you a signal/noise that might be better than having the antenna straight on a receiver ... but here you feed them all with the same antenna without causing a mismatch or a signal drop, while you simply need to switch the audio of each receiver to your audio recorder ... it will give you a much better idea which radio is the winner. The trick is to find the right high dynamic & low noise preamp that only needs little gain, just enough to compensate for the loss of the splitter. I am running such a setup for more than 10 years, it is cheap and easy to build and wonderful to use one good outdoor antenna without any compromise while having several receivers doing their job ... decoding signals or feeding audio into a file to be checked later. I have just ordered a new D-808 on a website that reminds you on a guy flying a carpet and rubbing a lamp ... they offer it new for under 40 € including shipping?! Wonder how they manage to make that price and if it is really a quality build that works?! I already have a bunch of airband receivers, but what I like about this one, it charges via USB, so it is also ideal in the car or anywhere because a computer or a USB charger is always around, it is just sad they didn't use USB-C instead the used micro USB, not so cool, but better than any customized connector that needs a specific voltage. Haha sorry for bother, I found it - the interruption is caused by having Wx alerts ON!

Please could you help identify a problem with my same radio: The reception is cut intermittently every 5 sec and the Rx sign disappears for an instant. Equal intervals. Strangely, reception is OK on Wx channel and on the emergency channel when dialed by the red emergency button. When I dial the same 121.5 by hand it starts to interrupt. Very strange… Thanks!
