Loud Whirring Maytag Centennial Tub Bearing Gearbox Replacement
Does your 2010s Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, or Amana washing machine make a noisy whirring sound on the spin cycle? If it sounds like a 747 is taking off in your laundry room, your tub bearings are likely to blame. This video shows how to replace the gearbox assembly (which contains the tub bearings) to restore quiet, reliable operation. The task takes about an hour and just requires a few basic hand tools.

Got a T1400 42" riding mower with a no start / weak crank condition like I did? If your solenoid is working properly, check that the battery ground cable has good contact with the chassis as I explain in this video. It takes about three minutes to fix and is a common problem on these tractors due to the paint on the frame.

Didyiu try the 10 year warranty?
I did - it did not cover this repair. Sad!
Looks great! Did the ski originally come with black plastic rub rails?
Hey thanks Bryan! Yes it did. I think it looks much better with them color matched now 👍
@@pennccp thanks! Let 'er rip!
Hey. Just curious, the before and after videos appear to be different tractors. One shows a yellow-ish fuel tank while the other shows a white tank. Did you use two tractors for your example? I’d love to see how the fix worked on the same engine.
Yes, that is most def. NOT the same tractor. One is a T1400 and the other is a new model such as the the T110.
Same tractor. Probably the lighting playing tricks on the camera.
@@pennccp Nope, not at all. I own the 2nd tractor.
Awesome Thank u
What did u template for the sides of the tray going to be doing mine in the next couple of weeks.
I started at the top and front as shown at 0:37. Kept dry-fitting the front until I had the right profile. Then started at that top front corner, adhering down around the edge to the bottom of the tray, working my way back toward the stern. Where the side of the tray cuts down to the rub rail I cut a relief so that the turf pattern could keep running straight to the stern on the inside vertical wall. The video shows the rest in better detail than I could explain in words.
Thanks for video! Doing upgrade this week
Sure thing! It's a great mod. I take it for granted now but hate to imagine what it'd be like to go back to stock.
What steering set up do you have? I want ovp on the stock pole. Gonna just figure a way to re mount the chin pad
How did you template the front bumper turf? Looking to do mine and not sure how to go about cutting the shape correctly without too much trimming
Nothing earthshattering. I started with the rectangle that you see at 2:43 and wrapped it down around the rub strip profile (backing still attached) to get a feel for what to trim. I'd recommend doing the same...use the knobs as reference points to help identify how much to cut away. Fortunately you can mock it up pretty easily with the backing still in place to see how it'll fit. As you can see, the depth of my trim was only 1.5 - 2 "knobs" on the turf. Make sure your piece is trimmed symmetrically, and use plenty of heat (especially down at the bottom where you'll have extra material) when you put it on. 2:49 shows the piece I started adhering.
my 96 gtx seadoo does this. the engine would turn over with the stareter but no spark. took apart the start stop switch and found it was fused together and corroded. weird that it cranked but wouldnt start.
Definitely weird, and exactly why I wanted to get this video out there! Glad you got it figured out!
I have the same problem, but the mechanic says it's the decompression lever
Maybe so. Best of luck...and let us know what you find out!
where did you get the decals from man i just bought one and i need to get some
Did the same thing with my 92 square nose. Thank you for documenting not a lot of videos out there!
Sure thing! Thanks for watching
Starts but won't stay running?
Check your carburetion / fuel supply. Very common for small engine fuel systems to get gummed up if oxygenated fuel is used.
Why did you take yours off
To run a speaker wire through it
I had a hard time trying to see the "wet" foam in your video. A lot of the foam looked super dry!? Could just be the lighting... My SN felt heavy. I weighed it. 355 pounds. I drilled two drain plug holes and hallowed out 1 inch holes all the way to the bulkead. Shop vac and 2 months using heat/fan/vaccum. Iv gotten the ski down to 304 pounds. Slow process but I have a long winter. In Canada. 7 months worth of dry time! Ill be sealing up everything and installing new drain plugs. Water was getting in through my ride plate inserts. 95 superjet.
Yeah, not a lot of mine was wet. My tray was in pretty good shape…sounds like that’s another place it can come in. Clever strategy 👍🏽
how do you disconect
There is a little tab that I’m touching with my thumb at 0:42 that you’ll need to press down while pulling the connector ends apart.
Purple turf is ballin! Im just in the middle of ordering some for my 95. What thickness of under pad you end up using?
I used 11/16 and really like it.
thanks but not help to me 6 flashes on an Amana replace flame sensor, controller board, both presser switches still get 6 flashes and will not light.

Hello how’s is it going. I have a 1996 Yamaha wave raider 1100. Bought new batttery and no power replace the starter solenoid and no power I unplugged the black and white wire and no power. So I jump started the solenoid with a screwdriver and it turn on. What can it be the problem no starting with the start switch. Thank you
When you jump the solenoid does it crank or actually start and run?
@@unstuckchuck when I jump start it it actually starts and it runs
That's a clever and very useful way to reuse a fire hose

Great tip! Got to the solution quick with no scripted comic relief.
Glad to hear it!
🎉 I had this exact same issue on my 1992 VXR 650. Mine actually would not crank over. It was just as if it stopped electrical work altogether.
I’d almost rather have that problem…when it cranks but doesn’t start you begin wondering about compression, carburetors, and other things that aren’t related to the actual problem!
Which hitch hauler is that?
It’s custom - my own design!
Wish I'd watched this first. Solved my problem instantly. Then I had to put everything back that didn't need to come off!
Still a win for mankind! Glad it helped!
Great little video, Chuck! I just picked up a 95 SN . The stock springs make the pole feel like 200 pounds.. lol. How has this spring held up after 2 seasons? Cheers!
Hey Stefan. The spring looks and performs the same as it did when I installed it. No corrosion or rust. It makes the handle essentially weightless even when up at riding height. A great mod for improving your riding and well worth the $50. I had to think a little bit to answer your question because I'm so used to riding with it now!
I appreciate your reply! My 95 Superjet pole feels heavy. The original springs , Im guessing are worn out! My 9yr old daughter rides it and I think we both would benefit from this upgrade. Ordering one now! Thanks, buddy!@@pennccp

Having the same issue with the new carb. 105 main jet with fmf pipe. Sputter from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. What is your mixture screw set at?
Hey Richard - I made no adjustments to the screw when I installed the carb on the bike, so it was running at whatever the spec was. Wish I could be of more help.

Yeah buddy!
U should stain it with gel it would catch the camera

No, it’s natural gas. These are common.
I have a 1997 Polaris, SL 700 no spark, but if I press and hold the bilge pump button while starting I’ll have spark any idea what this could be?
Hey Hunter - to be honest I'm not familiar with this model's electrical system. I did learn that SBT makes an ignition upgrade kit (link below) for your ski...it's expensive but it may help to learn why they sell it. www.shopsbt.com/jetski/polaris-ignition-system-update-kit-slh-sl-1995-04.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjww4-hBhCtARIsAC9gR3Y83UJuPWAYJpmtOWWcG7GQdAASvd4HN3hgP-n9_VglLsw1CmwBAEYaArtwEALw_wcB
@@unstuckchuck thanks!
Nice 👍
that model is discontinued. do you know what new model replaced it, and if they fixed the problem? hmmm, looks like the T110 has the same specs
I do not.
Thanks.
Hi , Why you wouldn’t test the igniter with the door open ?
If the ignitor didn't work, it would be better to have the unburnt gas stay contained within the oven instead of leaking out into the room. In the end, I found it was better to test the new ignitor with the door open because I could visually verify the burner had lit. Use caution with this step, and contact a professional whenever something you're testing is outside your comfort zone.
Good thinking ! Thanks.

Great looking ski, I have a 93 Any video of install coming up? Thanks
Thanks man! I did not do a video of the install sadly, but I did watch some basic decal instruction videos to figure it out. Start with the small ones and work your way up. I used the method where you fasten the decal with a vertical strip of tape in the middle and then do one half at a time, folding each back to remove the backing. Kinda like the pages of a book.

Who painted the ski? What did they use and what was the cost?
I had access to a paint booth at work and a guy who knows his way around a gun. Started with a Valspar high production primer because it’s what we had. Then we used a Valspar 840 series single stage paint (two coats) and then two coats of some automotive clear coat. I got that at an automotive paint store we have in town…it cost about $40/gallon if I remember right. Overall cost for materials was about $250 but I had a unique situation.
