The famous mural at Vinales west of Havana. The artist hired local farmers and suspended them in the air to work on the murals while he directed them by cell phone.

El que controla la comida controla la populacion
Good job Phil!
Reminds me of you serenading our group in Havana!
Nice Hack Phil .. Wishing you and the family all the best for a better 2021
I love it!

Fabulous! Gotta love it! Happy painting!
Why would you shoot video in portrait orientation? Do you see movies or TV shows shot like that? By the way the pseudo news media does not determine the winners in elections. And why would you want to go back to failed liberal policies. Oh, I left the plantation decades ago.
Why are you taking video in a portrait orientation. You don’t see TV or movies filmed that way. I don’t understand why people shoot video in this orientation.
Missing Ceramics at ISA !!
Should have Bernie Sanders narrating ... This is so sad.
People getting free groceries is sad?
@@TIENxSHINHAN Nothing is "free". It had to be taken from someone else who produced it. Keeping people dependant on government is sad. Keeping people from benefitting from their own efforts & abilities is "sad". Capitalism allows people to become prosperous enough for the society to take care of those who, through no fault of their own, cannot take care of themselves. A welfare state keeps people at the mercy of government handout schemes.
My dad studied here during the 80s. Nice to see videos like these
lose the microphone
NIce video!
Cuba was producing more before 1959 than it is today. In Havana, food shortages have long been common; recently it was eggs that were hard to find.
Maybe putting sanctions on them isn't a great idea
Why this nigga so underrated??
Spent many of my childhood summers in that village. Very good memories
Hey Philip! Really enjoyed the video! Nice to see the ladies and glad you guys are having a great time! That's such a nice house!
What a beautiful private home! Thanks for sharing- how was dinner?
00:52 👀 Priceless
Esta en Mexico!! :D
I like it!! It,s work
oh my god... I am sorry for your QTH
Thanks for posting this video of one of Monet's studios! I am setting up my studio and am right handed like Monet was. The first thing I notice is that the museum curators "potentially" set this up backwards. He would have wanted the left side of his easel facing the windows. Not the right side. His painting would have been in the shadow of his paint brush and right arm if the light was on the upper right hand side. The great right handed painters had their easels set to the right of the windows, not the left! If you know different then please let me know. Thanks again!
Humorous commentary by Phil!
Karen you are looking so good! You never age.....must be the genes! One day I plan to fly over again....'till then .....Nancy May
This video was awesome!!! I miss being there- seeing my old friends and meeting new ones! Such a personal touch- thanks honey
Well done on your achievements with the antenna situation 73
Very Good job. Good dx dr frd.vy73 dm4kj
Thanks for transporting me to the Botanical Gardens- second best to being there!
Have you been able to make any contacts?
I was surprised that I've been able to work a share of DX with this set-up. Those signals are weak though. Seems pretty common to make stateside contacts with it.
A Phil Levine special! Loved it!
Your work looks so strong, vibrant and energetic! And you have your own enclave to show - I hope someone buys them all!
Wow! Where is this studio Phillip? I'm looking for a studio right now and I'm not sure what city this is in.
Waow didn't get that Nancy 's house was so touched last summer!!
You have difficulty with the name! And what video camera so you use?
It's Susie!
Hey I like hearing your voice and accent Philimou.. When can I say Bonjour to you again??
The fields you speak of are privately owned. I don't know any specifics, but if I had to guess, the Cuban government probably has a profit-sharing agreement with the owners. Therefore, the owners can grow crops at a very low cost, and then, sell the crops to capitalist countries at rates that are reasonable in those countries. The owners make a lucrative profit in hard currency and surrender a portion of that to the Cuban government. The average Cuban does not benefit.
Cuba uses communism as its economic system. Food is massively subsidized by the government, and the ration system is used to ensure all citizens the ability to access the subsidized food. The problem is these foods are typically low quality, and there is little incentive for the system to improve. I believe citizens can buy food outside the ration system at state-run grocery stores and illegally on the black market.
yeah Roger. .we all came back with a new interest in Cuba - beyond the propaganda we get fed
This really captures the essence of the Cuban people. We went in Nov 2012 and loved how music and dance were everywhere we visited.
