Thank you!
Oh, I just found the post about the album I was looking for where your mum was wearing a pair of brown boots. You mentioned it below by the title, "Shades of Loving and Leaving." Is there any chance you could please upload this album when you have time? Many thanks.
Hello Joanna, It's been awhile since I was last in contact with you about your parent's music. There wascan album you were going to try and upload but I can't remember which one it was. I know most of their albums you have uplosded and I'm thinking it was a more obscure one. I hope you are doing well. I have been a fan of your parent's music for a long time. I live in USA but originally from UK.
Aww--- you didn't finish it! 🎶😢🎵🎶
Watch this space!!! 😊
Beautiful ❤❤❤
I love you so much bless you Joanna 🙏🙏🙏
My goodness I bet that was difficult to learn.
Bloomin lovely! ❤
Lush! We did a pretty good job here 😊
This song is such fun 😊
Not bad at all 😁
Do the same but with the entire congregation joining in at the same time as the choir
It's a shame this recording is so quiet. I can't hear it well enough to use it to practise my part.
Pretty damn good I reckon 😀
as long as i live i will NEVER stop singing their praises, i have see loads of acts live & from different genres but i never came across any act that held the audience like these two
what key is this in
It's in F major to start, then changes up a tone at 3:16 to G major. Then at 3:50, it changes up another semitone to Ab ( pronounced 'A flat') major. If this gets too high for singers, you could repeat the chorus in a lower key.
i loved them, never have i ever seen a duo compliment each other so perfectly
my favourite version, saw them live & group sang with them in wildenrath folk club in 75 or 76, they were fantastic

MERCI J ARRIVE A BIEN TRAVAILLER AVEC L ENVOIE DE JOANNA SARJEANT MERCI MERCI
One of the most beautiful and meaningful songs I have ever heard in my 65 years on this earth.
Thanks for sharing. Your parents sang so beautifully together.❤
my all time favourite duo in any genre & was lucky enough to see & sing with them in the 70s
my favourite folk artists by a country mile
Joanna, Will you be uploading any more of your parent's songs? I was truing to recall if it was your parent's who had an album where your mum was wearing a pair of brown boots on the front cover of album? I had this album and it might be in a storage unit but cannot get to it any time soon. If you can upload songs from it, I would really appreciate it. Or if you have any other songs of theirs, be it in a concert, tape or anything more, would love to hear it when you have time, Thank you.
Hi, I will be uploading lots more. I've been working on something else recently but I've finished that now so I'll be getting back to it. The only album I can think where Mum does have a pair of brown boots on, is Shades of Loving and Leaving. There is a picture of the album here: www.discogs.com/release/4557249-Derek-Sarjeant-And-Hazel-King-Shades-Of-Loving-And-Leaving I'll be uploading this one next :-)
Could you write anfonaf angel but with string instruments replacing the voices (keeping the piano as it's meant to be)? And perhaps have the cello play the lead melody? Would love to see how that would sound
I don't think I have saved this or have the sheet music anymore as this was to order for another choir, but I'll have a look and see if it's possible :-)
@@joannabedford-sarjeant8427 ah I see, I have my fingers crossed and I'll wait around then haha :D
Thanks Joe 😊
a god given voice
saw them live at wildenrath in i think 76 & was invited up to sing 3 score & 10 with them at the end, i say sing but mainly just listened to her magnificent voice, Joanna, you parents were the inspiration to a lot of us folkies
this is why i ADORE you tube
you must be so proud 0f your parents ? i met, & sang with them & loved them
i know i post a lot about them but i was totally in awe of their talent, i was a semi pro singer who once listened to them knew my limitations
loved them
What a voice, Whoever said God doesn't give with both hands clearly never met Hazel King. She had the lot One great partnership
i was lucky enough to not only see them live but on one occasion sing with them , happy days
loved them But adored her lol
i was lucky enough to see them live & if i wanted to stretch credibility i sang with them, along with a dozen others at the end of the evening lol
Joanna, I used to have an album many years ago that I bought in a record shop when I was on holiday in London. It might be in a storage facility that I have stored a lot of records. I am not sure if it is by your parent's as I can't recall it right now. However, I do remember the photo on album shows a young man and woman on the cover and the woman is wearing high brown boots. Would that by chance be an album of your parent's? I bought it it in the 1980's.
Jo, thank you so much for putting this up, its very moving to hear now and brings a tear to my eye. Colin xx
Joanna, Thank you for all your time in uploading all your parent's records. Much appreciated from fan in USA but originally from England. 😊
Love, love, love this song. Great singing, great harmonies.
Hi Joanna, Just finished listening to another great album by Derek & Hazel Sergeant. Thank you so much! Really appreciate you making your parent's music for everyone to hear.
What a great song!! Wow! How did Derek do this? What a talent to be able to sing this kind of song so very well.
i think his best move was meeting Hazel lol
Such a powerful song by Tom Paxton and sung so beautifully by Hazel. Incredibly, voice like Joan Baez! Hazel's voice on that level and hard to believe not famous around the world.
😊 Beautiful song!
Joanna, I have now listened to all of this album. Thank you so much for taking the time for uploading all these great, great songs. I have enjoyed all the songs. Such a pleasure to hear each and every song. I only wish I had seen your parent's perform in a concert. I am actually originally from England but have lived in USA for many, many years. I did visit UK a lot during the 1980's and although I traveled around England quite a bit, mostly stayed in London and went to a lot of folk clubs there but never came across them at any folk clubs on my visits. At least though I can enjoy their music that you have so kindly uploaded. I hope a lot of people will find their music here too.
Thank you very much! I'm so pleased there is still an audience for their style. Mum definitely influenced the kind of singing I like to listen to I must say, and Dad was always overshadowed but I think he had a very good voice to. Eventually I will upload some of the things he did before he met Mum which were also very good. Keep an eye on my channel. I've another album I'll be uploading tonight and I'm also digitising some of their cassette albums.
Just absolutely beautiful. Your mum had one of the loveliest voices. She could have been famous with a striking purest of voices. Surprises me that she was not known to everyone with such talent.
Such a great, great song! How beautifully your parent's voices blended together no matter what they sang.
I have the album from Steeleye Span with Maddy Prior singing this song so many years ago. Never heard another version but your mum's cover is outstanding!!
