    So before watching your video my wishlist plants for 2024 were pink anthuriums, like Michelle or ZaraXMichelle… but now I really want also an Hoya yvesrocheri 😭❤️ I mainly grow anthuriums, so I have a couple on your wishlist, I’ll send you some pics! My favorite right now is my KOS/HU that I got from Mr. Hu himself ❤ I don’t find it difficult per se, but it’s difficult to propagate and so slow to grow! Still completely worth it!

    Happy New Year Shannon! I moved to the US from Europe 2 years ago, and I totally understand the struggle of finding new friends and missing your hometown. I dropped you a msg on Instagram, we can be planty friends 😊 I find FB marketplace work decently for selling cheap plants/ props, if you have the patience to withstand the multiple “hi, is this available?” and then no answer 😂 at some point you will find someone that is really interested in your plant! I love longer videos, and repot and chat works for me, I find that kind of videos relaxing. Best of luck with your new hair business! I have waist long hair and I would definitely be interested in some updates/ hair tips and tricks during your next repotting video! 😊 PS. How do you get the roots out of the plugs that green escape seems to send everything in?

    • @Planted386
      @Planted386 4 дня назад

      I just pot it all together. I never remove the roots. I will say with The green escape I have never had an issue with my plugs however with costa farms I have definitely had issues. From what I have noticed the green escape isn’t using any mesh around the plug. It appears to just be peat. Costa def uses a mesh and I’ve had issues with the roots sort of choking out due to that. I hope I’m explaining this well. I just pot it right up into my substrate and let it do its thing 💚

    • @Planted386
      @Planted386 6 дней назад

      I can to the best of my ability I kinda just eye ball it. Some people also add peroxide to the mix but mine is basically 2/3 water half teaspoon of peppermint Castille soap half teaspoon of tea tree castille soap and the rest rubbing alcohol. I’ve made it many times never really measuring but it’s never harmed my plants. Maybe make a batch and just do a little test spray on a leaf give it a few days and if all is good spray away! It’s very effective. Also smells wonderful! I use it all the time. As a preventative mostly but it’s also a great for mealies and spider mites. Hope that helps. Noticing you watering I have a question. Do you typically only water half way down? I always make sure the water comes out of the pot and I am feeling like that is too much water for winter.

    • @Planted386
      @Planted386 7 дней назад

      @@LeafyConversations typicallly I water all the way through. I do back off a little during the winter months when the humidity is lower. It takes more time for the pots to dry out. The moss really helps me I judge a lot of times by the moss topper. If the moss is dry the plant def needs water. It also depends on proximity to light source. My plants closer to light typically need to be watered more often. But for sure in winter I can get away with longer duration in between my watering. Keep in mind anthurium don’t like to dry out completely. They don’t want to drown in water but they like access at all times. This is why a cache pot or drip tray helps. Moss also. If your soil is airy enough you should be good. Which I have seen your soil mix and you are doing wonderful with amendments. Much better than me!

      @@Planted386 In my case I just got into plants/trees this winter. My main interest is in bonsai but also love plants, especially the Monstera species! I only have a "mini" monstera now and another monstera clipping that unfortunately got waterlogged due to poor soil (general potting mix with poor drainage) I am hoping to recover!

    • @Planted386
      @Planted386 6 дней назад

      @ ohhhh monstera are wonderful!! Pretty easy going so long as your soil is well draining. I still have yet to cover my monstera collection. I suppose it is because I only have a few. Mini monstera is actually a rhaphidifora. 😊 it’s a different genus but got its nickname due to its fenistrations which very much mimic that of a monstera. The care is pretty much the same. If you get another monstera clipping try rooting it in water or spaghnum moss. I’ve always had luck doing it that way. 💚 you’re gonna get hooked! Plants are truly amazing!!
