I have had every hairstyle, weave , wig, braids, crochet, perm, texturizer, and loose natural! Micro locd for 1.5yrs and i have never been so in love with my hair. Its no more of a financial commitment then other styles annually when you add buying hair and products. You are investing in YOUR hair. Do your research, and learn the technique just in case you move or need to touch up your edges. I have never felt so free, I never worry about what im doing with my hair. thanks for sharing

I’m so glad I didn’t get micros or sisters and went with medium size traditional locs instead. I have a LOT of 3c/4a hair and even getting micro braids back in the day I would always look like a lion, way way too full even with less packs of hair used lol Plus I don’t like to get my hair done often 😅 so my tendency towards slacking on my retwist maintenance works out a lot better with larger locs. Also when I started my hair was pretty long and the sister or microloc quotes were 🤯

4 years into my microloc journey. Every 6 weeks I pay $120 for reti. First install was 30 hours but reti’s are about 3 hours which is all comparable or cheaper than perms/wig install. I love them best decision for me. My hair is bra strap length.

Microlocs are so thin that if you ever have any other type of thinning (due to medication, health conditions, pregnancy, etc.) your hair will be coming out in clumps.

I got my microlocs from Family hair braiding in Sugarland, Tx and it took about 5 hrs. I get my reties every 6 weeks for $160. I stay with the same ppl for my reties and will not change. I have no regrets for my microlocs and will be officially 1 year loc’d in Mar. 2025.❤

Imo, A good oil and a little time to slowly comb them out and a good wave nouveau moisturizing lotion to get 4C hair keeps it manageable ❤️

I would NEVER get Microlocs, BUT I do have regular Locs THAT touch my butt and I'm 5'9. I BELIEVE that if you do have scalp issues, "damaged hair", as you say, split ends, etc, WHATEVER, I think it's the perfect time to get Regular locs. Regular locs will naturally Detox, shed, break off, etc. My locs cost me, Nothing. $0. It's My JOURNEY, and I had no interest in another person in my hair. I learned to retwists from RUclips. I binged watch UNTIL I had "it". Locs SHOULD NOT be a high maintenance process, that's the point of getting locs, it's a statement to the world that basically says 🖕🏾 , WE DON'T NEED your perm, your relaxer, your weave, etc. 😊
