On August 1st, the last ever train to arrive at a fair came to Erie County. Gone are the days of the expensive fair train. As costs associated with rail continue to rise, it only makes since to transition over to roadway. Traditionally for Strates, some things arrived over the road, and some things came on the rails. Now; just the road.

very saddened . I loved that motel . I stayed there twice in the 1990s and once in the early 2000s . An Indian couple or extended family from India took it over in the early 2000s . The new owners converted part of it into their home last time i stayed there circa 2000 .While it didn't have the charming tavern and restaurant any longer, They cut some woods down and put a lawn & garden in the back and put a swimming pool in the front . I loved watching the deer come out onto the lawn in the evening/night . I'd be most grateful if anyone has some recent information on the motel, who the owners were, etc . please, any and all replies !
The owners had bought a house a bit before the fire. I heard they use to live there, and that their quarters were well kept. I never got official word on the fire. I have heard unofficially that it started from a space heater, far left on main building. Cleanup started a week or so ago and is nearing completion. Pool is still there lol
Im unsure of the first name, might be Neil. The owners are the patels. They also own the budget in, in falconer. They also own allen street convenience store which is the old wilson farms.
I can only guess the building was a total loss.

REKINDLES ARE UN-ACCEPTABLE IN THE FIRE SERVICE. With a fire of this magnitude, a minimum of at least two engine compay's should have been on stand by to prevent such a tradegy of an embarrassing REKINDLE.
The building had been demolished then it rekindled. Not sure if that matters or not
Once the fire gets into the open attic space your done. Your gonna burn the roof off. Builders want to save money by not putting fire walls up through the roof and this is what happens.

A true concrete firewall that extends 3 feet above the roofline i th superior manner of firestopping. It depends on building and fire codes within any jurisdiction of how that comply's.

Yes. I myself as a former volunteer firefighter always wondered how they start and praying nobody got hurt
Hopefully there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, when I was a volunteer firefighter we responded to a similar type incident. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
minor injuries, but everyone left the hospital within hours of arriving. A few firefighters went in for minor things, maybe heat or smoke inhalation
