@@BeardedSnowlYGO it's because sometimes it does work, and it confuses people. but this is beyond that. destruction is not negation on most cards, especially not normal traps. but then Evenly... destroying evenly is saying "please banish my entire board".

@DarkCT You're right lol. Destruction works on continuous spells/traps and field spells so I'm sure it messes with people..but yeah.. dude, it's evenly XD

@@BeardedSnowlYGO I didn't even notice the shifter. i was just watching you wipe his backrow with no problems because winds bypasses Hugin defense anyway. people screamed such bloody murder about runick when you can shut it down with cosmic cyclones, but people won't deck it because of other decks in a format. can't have deck variance if it doesn't involve monsters punching each other, right?

@@BeardedSnowlYGO it's labrynth as well, a deck i could play well but i have a disdain for. Bagooska only really works as a last ditch effort (that board wasn't), or as a side play in a link build, like in pure vaalmonica. (in exo valmonica you can set off Martha yourself, ending on a partial exo board instead)

That's what I thought. Either being a way to stall or in link focused decks. I have no idea what they were thinking lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO I get running it if you can hit a rank 4 in certain moments because it can ice out an opponent going 1st if they REALLY have little reaction to your plays, but that looked like a decently good turn that they iced out themselves. I had a moment and just recalled a play I wanted to do in that deck 2 4 demons makes D/D/D Wave King, which you can raise into Deviser King for another "interruption". could even rank Wave king into Marksman.

Ash/Droll and some other effects, but yes you can still Veiler or Imperm. That's where Advent or Cowrie come in lol. If I hadn't Shiftered them, their Dragon would have protected me from the Mercourier they added to the hand.

I love TTT in Floo! And if I'm being honest I run it in any deck that runs a larger portion of/or just very important Spells and Traps for the deck to function. For example, I think Thrust is a great staple in Unchained since it has 3 engine targets and the possibility for much more. My Floo build has 11 Thrust targets, so its a pretty versatile tech choice and can get you out of many different sticky situations. That and the fact that its been reprinted several times in Bonanza makes it even better lol. I'm currently running 2 copies of thrust, which I personally think should be the minimum if you plan on running it. You can be a bit more maleable with your decklist since Thrust is just extra copies of any normal spell/trap you'd run in your deck without needing to run max copies of the targets. My main deck is essentially the same as my most recent profile (which you can find in the "Deck Profile" Playlist on my channel page), but I swapped out the change of heart for a second Thrust. Please let me know if you have anymore questions! I can talk deck theory all day lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO playing Vaalmonica against Live Twin Spright, drew to many handtraps going first, and functionally bricked out the whole match, which went long and i was only able to build 1 resonance point the entire match. no vaalmonica links at all, while they not only got off elf combos, but took 2 extra turn to finish me off with pure Live-twin lines.

Oof, I'm sorry to hear that..sounds excruciating lol. It is unfortunately like that sometimes . I've had a Floo game in the past where the top 10 cards of my deck are board breakers... which is all of them XD

Being a "shifter deck" player, are you going to look into Maliss when it comes out?

Valid points lol. I love the style of Maliss, but I don't know if I'm ready to play a "Waifu" deck XD. It still looks really fun to play though, so I'll most likely be trying it out.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO Id REALLY like it. ive not played with the Toy box yet, but i have almost a completed set of the cards. id love it if we had a full deck in the vein of that guy from GX with toy soldiers, but it feels like the last time i saw that card art aside from those 3 cards in other decks, it was in the "Frightfur" archetype. gods i love that archetype, but I prefer it's JP name.

I always feel bad making "updated" profiles when my list never change very much. But then again people are still interested, so why not lol. I'll get on it very soon!

Which part of ABC are you having trouble with? And do you play Floo going first, or second?

No ABC com o campo estabelecido, tem muita interação e não consigo dar jeito nele e floow parece ter pouca interação. Mesmo com a trap harpia, ele ativa os efeitos union que ativa como sendo magia e entao a trap nao pega, fazendo assim ser facil ter os 3 monstros ( a,b e o c ) no campo ou gy e invovando o abc, isso fora as hand traps...

What type of non-engine cards do you usually run?

@BeardedSnowlYGO o deck eh igual o seu. Algumas vezes q fiz umas mudanças e coloquei a estatua de vento e o chain summoning. Agora estou testando uma versão que estou sentindo mais satisfatório, algumas cartas de simorgh como o darness simorgh, o campo ( que ajuda em varias ocasiões ) a trap pra que n deixa dar alvo e nem atacar os mais fracos, uns simorghs pequenos. Tenho visto que floo dificilmente da otk, tem que ficar segurando o jogo e ir batendo ate ganhar e com essas cartas tem umas vantagens pra isso, ajudar a segurar o jogo.

Let me know how further testing with the Simorgh engine goes! I used to run the Simorgh cards but don't really have room for them in by current build. I can see the positives they add to the deck, but perfection can sometimes get in the way so I took him out. Darkness is still great though! I'm considering throwing it back into the side for Labrynth.

I would say on average, I win every 9 out of 10 games.

Just keep practicing and you'll get it! And no not necessary. My losses are usually just becasue Floo can be a bit bricky lol. That or if I'm up against Mimighoul. Without Duster I need to go first or I lose. Their Field Spell is a crazy counter to Floo lol.

I wish you the best of luck! And off the top of my head the only "meta" level deck I would say that isn't the best match up would be Chimera (without drawing Shifter of course). Shifter ends their turn immediately, but going second against them is really rough with Diabellze shutting down most heavy hitting board breakers without dealing with her first. The deck can also recycle her fairly easily depending on what they end on. Between her, Gazelle, and Desirae, your opening hand is essentially starting at a -2/‐3. Also Mirror Swordknight being live in the grave can hurt sometimes depending on your hand. Its not impossible, excluding Shifter obviously, but its one of my personal harder match ups. That's honestly the only deck I worry about when I play against. I feel like most other decks are pretty manageable. I hope this helped!

That almost seems like a custom Floo card for when you get hand trapped on normal summon and have extra birds in the hand lol. Seems like a cool card to test out!

Usually i run Vaalmonica horus with a teeny resonator package, like my last weird runick build, but this time im thinking odd monsters, a bit more of the event legal handtraps and a copy of Spell Absorber. so the adds are Performages like damage juggler, trick clown, flame eater, and Mirror conductor, Zepyros, and then im considering Spell absorber and Spooky Dogwood. the performages add to damage taken, and dogwood (if legal) and Spell absorber create extra life gain conditions, adding to resonance counter growth. I can run full Vaalmonica base, though im missing the last support wave since it's not in MD, so i had to cut my Horus cards, my vision package, and my Guardian slime for the current build due to the event banlist.

You're definitely cooking something there! I like your ideas and I hope it works out! There's alot more generic support for the deck then I thought lol. I mean its mostly LP manipulation, but that seems like Vaalmonica's bread and butter to get their plays going. Let me know how your build/ the event develops!

@@BeardedSnowlYGO I really enjoy Mikanko, but.. yeah, thats just not working out. most players who were remotely close to pure with the deck just shook their heads at her, meanwhile the rest of Mikanko had turned into a package in Infernoble.

Its weird how it just kind of fell off? Wasn't it pure at some point when Ken and Gen were first released? I remember it topping a few YCS, and winning one too in the past. Maybe it was Tenpai? Or its just a deck that was forgotten about once Snake-Eye came out, and now Tenpai is kind of the favored of the going second decks?

Or maybe it was the Acid Golem build I'm thinking of?

@@BeardedSnowlYGO standard mikanko just dropped outright, but looking at Ken and Gen I'm seeing mostly Acid golem builds now along with the double edged sword set up. As for what happened? definately the more modern decks. the Age of Fire just dominated so many decks into a scorching husk, and Tenpai is most definately winning the going second design what with the crazy damage output it can put out. Mikanko also stopped being as used when in some cases Yubel could also replicate it's effects.

List is essentially the same as my last list, but a called-by thrown in lol

Very true, fountain is a double edged sword..or fountain XD. The hand replenish is crazy, and Fountain turning all the archetypal quick-plays into hand traps is really good too. But then there's shifter lol. On another note, I'm very happy with the work Soul Exchange has been putting in. It doesn't always come up, but I feel like when it does it just turns a mideocre hand into full Floo combo! "OUR MONSTERS". I'll take any Floo adjacent support I can get lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO the thing is... it's not crazy when you realize a few other details in Runicks design. the TCG base just used it as an engine for their combo-happy designs and a meta where they didn't have to fear Maxx C. nothing like attempting the set up of your play... and someone ashing the draw when you were low on resources to have nearly no response. nothing like opposing players banishing either your fountains or your magic phases, all while you have to go outside of archetype in some way to have any more board prescence than a punching bag assistant and hope. Runick was my most meta relevant pet deck because i personally despise the modern monster spam combo nature of this game, and I was an acolyte of proto-Empty Jar. people raged because they prepare for anything BUT backrow now, and thats because the game gave them little reason to even deck backrow removal. oh, but i will say Soul Exchange is indeed freaking amazing. when i tried it in floo in MD. it was amazing.

You make a fair point. I just don't run hand traps (besides Shifter lol) in my Floo builds so the possibility of fountain drawing into either Freezing Curses or Destruction is a scary prospect for me lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO yeah, that tracks. your Floo, so their monster destruction card can't target you at all, so al you have to fear is... an imperm and an MST that can banish your cards. *glances at Toucan, Advent of adventure, and Swallows Cowrie* i have to say unexplored winds is crazy. being able to non-destruction toss other peoples backrow to summon your own dudes is hilariously potent.

You're right lol, banishing my birds is very nice. And yeah its not like I don't have ways around targeted effects. And yes! I love Unexplored Winds so much! Konami has a poll on their socials where you can vote for future QCRs (becasue its the 3rd 25th anniversary now lol), and I voted for Unexplored Winds. I feel like for Floo I'd be happy with Winds, Map or Empen. But if its a popularity contest then I'm not getting my hopes up lol.
