Thanks Mark, this video made me smile! For the Emperor! Courage and Honour! 🌿XIII🌿 🫡
Where the hell do you connect the camera to which part of the camera do you connect to the RSS?
where was the external recorder?
I agree for some they are very useful. However, for my needs the Z9 records internally in all its highest formats, I have no use for one, especially with the twin 2 TB CF Express card I am Using. I do have a 7 inch monitor when required for those odd occasions such as making a RUclips video.
Never heard of Tilta products before watching this video. I made something similar using bits and pieces ordered off Aliexpress. The principle is the same. 😆😆😆😆😆
Looks better than the small rig RS strap which I have. Might have to try that belt
Viltrox 50mm f1.8 or 7Artisan 50mm f.18, which one is better for nikon Z30?
I only have experience with the Viltrox so I would have to say I know the Viltrox works well.
Pity Viltrox Lenses are not available in South Africa
Sorry to hear that, Do you know why that is?
really great video! id love to know how the etz mount compares using the same sigma lenses but for sony e mount ... i feel its going to be easier selling the e- mount versus f-mount version
Thanks Mark >> always most interesting
How about the sharpness on these newer high megapixel cameras?
Good at F4.0 and beyond Just as the Nikon Z 40mm F2.0 is.
That is pretty good! The 17-35 2.8 is really cheap at the moment, so might be a good option… Can it keep up with the megapixels?
Nice review. Please what are the dimension of the bag or the model you have (just for understand what type of bag add to it)?
Lowepro Adventura SH 160 II . and a Lowepro Adventura SH 120 II . depending on how much gear I need to carry on the day.
Thank you.
4K動画で分かりやすくて良かった。
Thanks for this video Mark it has been very useful. I shoot real estate for a living in the UK, and have just done still photography up to now. An increasing number of clients are now asking for video, which isn't a problem as I've blogged for a long time and can use Premiere Pro without thinking. However, I've got a 'big' video shoot coming up of a high-end country house, and using my D850 for video just won't cut it - I've tested it on video with the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 and 35mm f/1.4 and the autofocus was sh!te - constantly 'hunting' and larger corrections than really necessary (yes, I know the D850 was not really a video DSLR, but was just trying it for suitability) Looking at getting a Z6 II or a Z6 III to use purely for video, with the two Sigma lenses & an FTZ adaptor. This extensive video has now convinced me that the face-tracking autofocus works a treat, and my focus-hunting issue must be down to the camera body choice rather than the lens ability to focus smoothly. Thank you.
Z6II Is not up to the task, only a Z6III, Zf. or Z8/Z9 will do it for consistent video auto focus.
@@MarkHummerNikonZ9 Cheers Mark. Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't looking at spending up to £2.5K, but if it is the way to get consistent results, so be it! 👍
I would call that your bias opinion.
Could you be a little more specific, my opinion on what exactly are you offended by and referring to?.
Thanks Mark, excellent practical tips!
Always have great content 👌
Ditto
Thanks for the video! Can you share the names/models of the accessories you used?
Done.
Hi Mark Did you mange to connect to the usb for electronic focus and trigger? If yes how? Take Care !
No as I don't need it with the Z9 good auto focus. There are some great tutorials out there if you need those features though.
Why do you call them elitist lenses. So is it because they're expensive or well made or top quality does that make them elitist? Manny photographer shoot primes because they're much more clean and accurate than those images taken with a zoom. I would imagine that you don't own the plena?
What I said was that I have owned and do own many Primes Nikon and Sigma . I owned the Nikon 50mm F1.2S lens but found other better value for money options. And traded it in for those. After all it even has a name. (Plena), just like the (Noct) 58mm F0.95. And that was after giving the lens multiple compliments on its build, bokeh and rendition. I have owned the Sigma 135mm F1.8 Art prime and at half the price I was suggesting some of you could be overspending unnecessarily. So please a little context would be appreciated. I never suggested anyone was stupid for buying a quality Prime as I have purchased many high-end lenses myself.
@@MarkHummerNikonZ9 Thanks Mark. Many of us get sensitive because the Sony and Canon shooters will even stating that Nikon was in such financial disarray that the company might go bankrupt. Obviously Nikon builds scientific equipment so cameras is not even its primary form of revenue. These comments actually annoyed many of us long time Nikon fans. I own the 51.2 the 85 1.2 and just purchased the Plena. You came up in my recommendations so I started watching your video and it just seemed that your choice of words by calling many of these lenses elitists was a little offensive since just because they're expensive and well made doesn't actually make them elitist. I do enjoy your channel and will continue watching apologies if I became a little oversensitive but the Nikon bashing went on for many years which left a very bad taste in many of us loyal Nikon fans.
Excellent video.. Great capture of the day! I love it Mark! 💜💜💜💜
thanks for the video. can you put the links of the accessories you mention? the belt, vest etc. Thank you!
Done.😁
Hi Mark, great video buddy, what is the Manfroto head you have?
great video, hi mark , can you please help how do you balance Nikon z9 with rs4 pro perfectly? I tried to balance my z9 with rs4 pro its not perfectly balance>
First start with setting the sitting height at 90% down as the cameras tall stance and weight with a decent size lens is your biggest obstical
Excellent video but what is the maximum length of lens you would use in this setup.
It's more about weight than length but regardless I. Would suggest 50mm is the most ad after that you would introduce to much potential vibration. A 24- 70 F2.8 would be highly recommended.
Thanks for the insights @@MarkHummerNikonZ9
Theyre a beast of a lens im on for my 2nd , i got rid for a 200-500. Biiig mistake the 200-400 is pro lens price for a reason .
Same here... I just got the 200-400mm to replace a somewhat failed attempt with the 200-500mm 5.6 for outdoor sports. The 200-500mm could get some great shots but too many misses.
wow your suggestions are super practical. Thank you!
Appreciate the video. Just picked up the z9 and will pick up the L bracket. Cheers!

very informative Mark, I have a question can we use Speedlight with DC? if yes can you help me with which cable and converter need
How do you get to the battery to change it?
Please clarify what point in the video you are referring to.
The Z Nikon 20mm f1.8 S is the BEST Milky Way Lens ever made IMO and the star Aussie Astro photographers also claim this too
Yes, I agree I owned one for 2 years. This Viltrox one is more about something decent an affordable is better than nothing.
I have too many cameras. The D500 is not the newest but I love it more than any other. I use the Nikkor Z 180-600 with the Z6, but still prefer the D500 with the older Sigma 150-600. If we got a "Z500" I would get it instantly 😊
Get the Z8 to go with the Z 180-600 and be amazed >> Best combo for wild life that I have used with Nikon since 1971
Yes me too, I would love a Z500 for my Birding.
Will this fit the Z6 ?
Only the Z6 11
Really excellent; very informative. Thank you very much.
China invades Taiwan ain't gone be no z6iii
I'm sooooo excited for the Z6 one one one!
I recently retired and have decided to invest in a camera system. I have done some research and it appears that Sony makes Nikon, Fuji, and hasselblad sensors as well as their own. Cannon appears to make its own sensors. What made you choose Nikon over Sony or Cannon. Or am I asking the wrong question. Thanks. Jim.
Your question is valid. However, the different results you get relate so much more to the collective experience than just one component the sensor. It also has to do with the programing, firmware, ergonomics and color science and lens options. So, for me I prefer the entire feel and package that Nikon provides it`s not just about one part. Neither any one brand is superior it`s just a matter of feel and person preferences.
@@MarkHummerNikonZ9 thank you

Very Interesting Video Mark
Thanks for this information I wanna buy this lens for my Z5 and D750 to take photo on f2.8 and somhing video
A little misleading you name this video a "review" when you don't have the lens and haven't actually used it.
I was amazed at how much smaller the Z 24-70/2.8 is compared to the F mount version ... and you call it "chunky"? I find it quite small and light mounted on my Z9. My F mount D850+grip+24-70/2.8 is twice the size of the Z9 equivalent. The size and weight savings are huge. It is certainly better for me than carrying a bunch of primes around and then have to swap lenses. Carrying around several primes rather than one pro zoom would be more clunky in my bag. You can always set f/2.8 lenses to f/4 but you can't set f/4 lenses to f/2.8. If you don't need f/2.8 then of course don't buy the better lens. If you don't buy a lot of the unnecessary accessories (that I have never needed) you can invest more money in your lenses, or buy more lenses.
It's all about your personal use case. If most of what you do are portraits primes are best regardless of practicality. However if your shooting groups and landscapes then the zoom rules.
Completely agree on 135mm Plena being just too expensive.
You get what you pay for
Mark, I do agree with you on aperture of 6.3 and why not 5.6 in the new 600 PF lens? Initially I was expecting it to be 4.5 or at least 5.6 f stop to upgrade from my 500 PF for my z8 but now I feel not worth any more to spent so much for just extra 100ml and 6.3 lens
Since my last comment a couple weeks ago, I've acquired the Z 600 f/6.3 and I can't tell you how much I love this lens. Its size and weight are what I was looking for and I don't question its build quality. Usually, I shoot with the Z9 and it is very manageable ... I had it out for about three hours (handheld) and could have stayed out longer. With the Z 600PF mounted on my Z7ii, it is definitely my "zoo day" setup, weighing just 4.6lbs! There's no disputing the Z180-600 for its cost and very compatible images to the Z 600PF, when not pixel peeping. But, I am so happy with my choice and feel my copy is worth the investment into this quality S-line prime lens.
Liked your presentation very much, thank you! You got into great details presenting every problem which a photographer can get in while being in the field, even if they don't own a z9. Keep up the great work and the Z6 is indeed a very underrated camera because of its unique CFExpress slot, I bought mine very cheap too!
First time I've seen your video. Thank you. Hopefully, you'll be able to do a z180-600 vs z600pf comparison. So far, I'm hearing the z180-600 has a "sweet spot" (from new users) at the 500mm range, therefore better than the max of 600mm. I would be interested to see if you could confirm or deny this. Again, thanks, and well done.
Thanks for making this video, well done.
Ill wait on that 600pf review :)
