Temples of Chiang Mai
After an incredible week exploring the city and surroundings of Bangkok, it was time for an adventure to the far north of the country. Chiang Mai is located 12 hours by train from Bangkok, and is notable for its beautiful architecture, temples and history. Having been an old capital of Thailand, the history up here was bursting at the seams, and the preparation for adventure here had begun.

Located 60kms north of Bangkok is the ruins of the city of Ayutthaya. Having been the capital of Siam from the fall of the Khmer Empire in the 14th century until its destruction in 1767 by the Burmese, it was a must-see region, to experience the history of Thailand. Phuket has many incredible night markets to check out. My personal favourite was Malin Market, where the smell of incredible food takes over every other sense. What a beautiful landscape, the walk along the waterfront looks so nice, complete with seaspray :)
