      Hi, this is Mariam. I want to know if you are using. Cranial technology's helmet, the duck band or are you a hanger clinic? The star band which is a premium helmet. They use the star band but it's called a criminal helmet. Create new helmet. Which one is better hanger clinic or doc ban by premier technologies

    I know how you feel where all the other babies are quiet and you feel alone and wonder what is wrong with my baby. I have 3 babies and they’ve all been high needs. Going through it again with my youngest at 16 months. I get PPD every time 😢 It’s rough until they’re around 3.

    I hate feeling like people want my baby to 'perform' for them. My son is generally pretty smiley and extroverted but that doesn't make him any better or worse than more introspective kids. I grew up being told to smile and it was awful!

    My son was very active in the womb, and even though he was in the NICU for a month he has been blazing through his gross motor milestones. Rolling at 3 months and crawling at 5. Hates the stroller/carseat so going anywhere is difficult. Sleeps with me, screams as soon as I leave the room. I try to get him to play with his toys but he mostly wants to be held. Every day I feel so stressed 🙃

    I have a high need baby who was extremely active in womb and caused a preterm membrane rapture . He has no routine and wakes up all hours of the night despite being sleep trained and self soothing . He is intense in every aspect from wanting to be fed instantly to crying historically. His moods change almost instantly and it’s extremely hard to keep him happy . Nothing seems to be enough . At 5 month he is already showing sign of holding his weight and wanting to walk . He is not interested in lying down or doing any floor play . My saviour is a jolly jumper .

    Wow, this has been my experience with my son. He's 6mo old now and I found out that he is a high needs baby via a Dr.Sears article. It has saved my sanity to learn about this. It is so challenging and it is the same consistent behaviors but they do switche up every week (the older he gets/the more awareness he has). Is good to read about other moms going through it too. He's our 3rd baby BTW so I knew there was something different after a few weeks of him just not being comfortable. Never comfortable!

    I feel like I have PTSD from my first daughter. She cried 8 hours a night from 8pm-4am every night for like the first 6 weeks and at about a month we realized doing squats and lunges would keep her quiet. As she got older, things have gotten easier but at 5 years old it is still a challenge. She was very advanced physically and even read her first book by 39months. It seems that her high spiritedness was also accompanied by high levels of intelligence and great physical build strength athletic ability. However, because she was soo spirited and still is whenever I see a baby I feel anxiety because of the extreme difficulty the first 6-12 months of her life. While they improve, the temperament usually remains constant and it takes a lot of patience to get through it. You look how I felt and it is the most isolating difficult experience anyone can experience . What made it worse, she only allowed me to hold her. She would scream with her father, so I didn’t even have him to help. Lol it’s been 5 years, but it’s still nice to talk about.

    14 months in here! Still at home with my high needs son. Things have gotten a little better now that he’s a toddler and more mobile but every evening still feels like I’ve just had the most tiring, challenging day of my life. Like when you’ve had an insanely busy day at work and you’re just mentally exhausted. That feeling. Every day. Also feeling alone in this and no one can relate.

    Hello I’m trying to figure out if my son (8 weeks) is a high need baby. He fights his sleep a lot during the day like sometimes he doesn’t sleep at all during the day and gets super fuzzy due to being tired also his feeding is at random times he doesn’t really go with a schedule… but he does stay in bed or on a bouncer for a little bit even when he does catch sleep he will sleep like on a rocker… he doesn’t really cry when I put him down unless he’s hungry

      Tummy time is so important, even if it upsets your baby. You don't want your baby to get a flat head! Just do it for a few minutes , a few times a day, even if there is screaming.

    I am dealing with the same. Love our baby so much. I am exhausted though. She will NOT sleep in her crib or bassinet. She will only sleep on me or my husband. There is no schedule because she also fights sleep. This whole watch for wake windows etc. garbage. She will only nap when she wants. 🤷‍♀️ I am so exhausted that I don’t even bother trying to put her in the crib and get up every 4 min when she wakes up. We trade off sitting up w her while she sleeps. All I see online is, oh if your baby won’t nap or self soothe it’s your fault. It’s hard to find anything that she enjoys. 😭

    I know what you mean. I feel the pressure from social media and the internet as well. Lots of people saying that children are a nuisance for just doing kids things, and parents are always wrong no matter what decision they make. I agree that I want my child to be herself and not whomever society expects her to be.

  • @NilaMatters
    @NilaMatters 4 года назад

    I really love your perspective! It's so nice to hear a kind, caring perspective on this topic. I am not a parent but want to be in a few years after grad school. The only thing that bothers me in parents is when they say that they are the parent so they know best about everything - including medical needs. Co-sleeping or vaccines, for example. As far as behavior goes, I think parents do really get to know their children the best. You're right - negative comments about something like a child not smiling is so unhelpful! what good does it serve? You seem like a great mom, and I'm glad you have really given this a lot of thought! xoxo

    • @andreachristina4173
      @andreachristina4173 4 года назад

      Thank you so much :) I love hearing your thoughts on this topic! I agree about (not) knowing what is best about everything as a parent - I definitely don't! And I'm learning so much from others along the way. For behavior, I've been SO surprised to learn about how much adults comment about how children interact with others and compare little ones (including babies - eek!) I want all people, especially children, to feel free and comfortable with who they are. It is also exciting to hear that you would like to be a parent after grad school, it is life changing in the best way possible! :)

    Hi I’m a momma to 3 months old baby girl, I discovered my baby is a high needs baby since she was 2 month old and she quite similar as you described your lovely daugther are, you mentioned in the previous video that nap and bed time is very challenging, how do you mean by that? as I’m getting frustated because nap and bed time is horrible for me, my daughter screams her lung out every nap and bed time😢 i’m so hopeless

    • @andreachristina4173
      @andreachristina4173 4 года назад

      Sending you a big hug! Ah I know naptime and bedtime can be very challenging. When Abby was about 3 months old, she didn't want to leave my arms so it was very hard to try to put her down for nap or bedtime. She cried or screamed every time. We started modified sleep training when she was about 6 or 7 months old, and that helped tremendously. We gave her the opportunity to self-soothe, and then she started sleeping through the night at around 7 months. I know that any kind of sleep training can be controversial, but it saved our sanity by allowing us all to get a good night of sleep. And now, thank goodness, Abby sleeps through the night comfortably. Please hang in there, it will get easier! :)

    • @andreachristina4173
      @andreachristina4173 4 года назад

      That is a great question! High needs babies are usually (not always!) fussy right from birth. Colic tends to develop when a baby is around 2 weeks old. High needs babies can also have colic - mine did!

    Yay there's an update. Been getting tired again lately with my spirited 11 month old. Especially with a sleep regression and co-sleeping not even helping her settle for hours. We've add foot stomping to meltdowns and fussing when I making meals and can't pack her heavy butt. Plus no one else can ever watch her. Especially with quarantine. I had to quit work or continue to just pay for childcare. She's currently destroying my house and if she isn't begging to be held I let her explore and do it. Aside when she get mad when I take her away from things that aren't safe. I'm so drained. You're so sweet. Thank you.
