NY Yankees play "Sweet Caroline" @ Yankee Stadium 4-16-13
I trained and deployed with the Navy with a bunch of people from all over the country. Someone from Oregon referred to a guy from Long Island as my boy. I challenged that, saying he's NY, I'm New England, there's a rivalry. I found out that the guys from NY, NJ and NE were called the Northeast Mafia, because we connected with each other. i didn't realize that, until he told me.
when did this happen???
Found this all these years later and it brings a tear to my eye. This is living proof that Sports brings people together! Rivals like Boston and New York, in any sport, are people after all and we all know what it's like to feel hurt. So to see this wonderful example of solidarity from New York to Boston is just so heartfelt! Thank you New York and the Yankees from a Boston gal. 💋⚾️💜
Boston Strong!
What was happening in Boston at that time?
At the Boston Marathon in 2013 (the day before this video was recorded), two men (brothers) set off two homemade pressure cooker bombs at the finish line of the race. The attack killed 3 and injured over 260. One brother (Tamerlan Tsarnaev) was killed in a police standoff shortly after the bombing and the other (Dzhokhar Tsarnaev) remains in prison on several life sentences.
I hate the Yankees with a passion, but this is such a class act moment in this rivalries history
I bleed black & gold (Bruins) but if I didn't it'd be red & white. I've been a Red Sox fan since Carlton Fisk & Thurman Munson played (the rivalry was so awesome then). My daughter once asked me what would happen if she liked the Yankees (joking around) & I told her she'd have to move out (kind of joking lol). So, to the Yankee fans who actually sang, when I say you still bring tears to my eyes to this day for singing Fenway Park's attendees part of Sweet Caroline I hope you know how much gratitude is behind it.
The fans singing the anthem will always give me chills in the garden
How about that Neil Diamond is a native New Yorker. If you wont do it for Boston, do it for that reason. As a Bostonian, I think Fenway would play New York New York if the situation was reversed
First Class... From Boston
Nice of the organization to do that. Typical that only a handful of the Yankee fans participated.
Isn’t Neil from New York? I know he might be from Brooklyn, but Nee Yorkers love Neil, so no reason to hate on the unofficial Red Sox anthem.
Class act from the Bronx Bombers thank you for standing with Boston
As a Yankee fan, I'll always have words about the Red Sox. But both cities are now bonded and united in strength and patriotism forever! #BostonStrong 🇺🇸 #NewYorkStrong 🇺🇸
4.15.23. Ten years have passed, and we are stronger than ever. It feels like it was just yesterday. Man, does time really fly. Ehile I may have only experienced it through a television screen, the bombings affected my life in ways I could never imagine. I remember everything from that day, even all these years later. That day, I learned my most important lesson, one that would impact my life greater than I had ever imagined. I learned the true abilities of the human psyche, both of how awful it can be and how amazing they it be. I learned about violence, hate, and terrorism but also love, community, and strength. And while I didn't know it then, this pushed me towards a career in medicine and torwards the hospital and city I grew to love as a pediatric cancer survivor. Without the events of that day, I don't know what I would be like today or if I would have as much thrust as I do now, fighting every day until every child is well. Ans as the great Big Papi said, "You don't mess with our f--cking city." #bostonstrong 💙💛
Holly crap that is sick and I am a big red sox fan for life since I am was a baby
This was so heartful to have a team play their biggest rivals's theme song in honor. Just shows how sports brings people together.
and i know you from oursister city love us
we from boston love new york just like the celtics an lakers
Growing up and into my mid 20s I HATED the Yankees. Over time that hate dissipated … as much as I might still root against the Yankees ON the field … it’s easy to respect them OFF it.
A timeless ageless song
RIP George you brought back the class to this organization ty
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Great but why were they laughing like it was a joke? People died for crying out loud! To all the people who has serious intentions, thank you!
My little girl Caroline, loved Boston...
TELL THE AUDIENCE TO DOWNLOAD THE LYRICS ONTO THEIR SMART PHONES!!!!! then it would be even greater all round
Great songs have no home.
That was when the two brothers did the bomb attacks
funny.. no new york fan singing.. must be nice to think you are the center of the universe. and you wonder why nobody cheers for a low class team. I am Detroit tigers fan. and I will still cheer for the redsox. over the Yankees. And I like playing the Yankees in the playoff. it is a rest day for the tigers
Sorry but this isn't a patch on Northern Ireland football fans singing it. Give it a go, you'll see the difference.
It's really sad that other than the chorus no one knows the lyrics at all
But the chorus is the most important audience participation part so all's good.
Weak ass Yankees 🤣
ruclips.net/video/Jph2qWXJ-Tk/видео.html We
I hate that song.
Love it so much when music brings people together!
This is very rare to see
God Bless NYC
Fantastic Neil Diamond!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇧🇷
as a Yankee fan for life,I’ve seen the Yankees show class acts like this several times. It gives me great pride.Behind rivalry lies greater qualities.
This shows what a great sport baseball is, because of the fans. This show of support from New York for their bitter rivals, then the ovations that Boston gave Jeter in his last game there. Respect for your opponent is character revealed.
Yes, that too was class all the way, thanks Boston for showing Jeter some love. Respect.
Those folks in Boston may be assholes, but they're our assholes. When times are rough we all stick together. Because at the end of the day we are all brothers.

You took it all for granted , and now it’s gone!
Neil Diamond was in 1977, four days on Tour in Netherland.there were problems with the Hammond organ (110 Volt America-Europe 220 Volt) I'm approached by Lou van Rees Management for a solution to my Hammond Rent. After four days I got my B3 Hammond returned with Fire spots of @t frustrated me.They have me removed me from the Neil Diamond Fan Club because I had this listed on their site.Never Excuse of Neil Diamond ;-(
0:43 Enjoying his magnum or ice pop is he?

We were and are all Boston Strong! America is stronger than any terrorists. Love you all.

Every time I think sports are meaningless, I come across things like this.
I am with you fishbone!
I just found this surfing while in quarantine. I got chills when the Yankees sang the chorus and standing up. Awesome move from the Yankees.
