Hike * Bike * Adventure
Hello! We are Wiley and Dre. A married couple in our early 40s that were exhausted after 15 years of working in the corporate grind, so we decided to do something about it. We saved for 7 years while working our full time jobs then finally in September 2020 we had our last day of work and sold our house! We have converted our 2006 sprinter van named Uhuru that we travel around in with our dog. We spend a lot of time outdoors and really enjoy hiking, biking, and adventuring!

Oxxo, is the paso getting place!
Just found out suspension can be fitted to the Tail Wagon: watch : ruclips.net/video/XDJiSkAEbuw/видео.html
Sorry, mistake : the bigger tires I spoke about are for the Burley Nomad cargo trailer.
Hi there, thanks for your lovely review. Concerning the lack of any suspension on the trailer I would suggest that you mount wider tires. Contrarily to what people believe, they have LESS rolling resistance than narrower tires; on rougher terrain they allow you to ride with lower air pressure, which gives then better traction and more comfort because of the bigger amount of air and lower pressure. By the way: for their cargo trailer the Coho XC, Burley offers the option of really fat off-road tires (but the Coho also has suspension), although I don't think they fit the Tailwagon. But you can just mount wider tires on the given wheels (I think the tire should not have more than double the width of the inner width of the rim). Safe travels...
great adventure; great narration; good mix of pics and talk and dog; keep up the chatter about your eqpt .. helpful
If I added a shock, would that make it OK for light trails fire roads in your opinion. Also, do you think 20 inch wheels would help
Question... When you say "74 days to fun your start in Maine to the end in Florida"... Are you including your rest days in that or are you only counting the days that you were traveling? Is 74 days all days including rest days? I'm curious because I want to attempt this trip in the spring 2025.
@@jacobhall2290 yes, that included our rest days.
@suits2sandals Wow! That's about Two and one half months. Ok. Thanks. That will help me plan.
Theres a cool shock for this trailer made by "doggy components" it might be cool feature. Will this hook up to a thru axle? Have you seen any trailer you wish you would purchased now that you have been on the road?
We will have to look into that! This bracket will not work for a thru axel but maybe if you contact Burley they might have something. We have been so happy with this trailer. 5500 miles in and only tires have been replaced. We have been looking at a custom setup on the rear rack lately because we just adopted another dog. But you can't go wrong with this trailer!
Looks like you were there in January. How was the water temperature
We are usually in Baja between December to March. It can be brisk but it is too inviting to not go in. My husband thinks it is too cold.
In Mexico spicy helps to keep one healthy.
You’ve given me confidence
Hey man, Loving these videos! I’m just wondering, how long 58 miles would usually take you to do?
@@1999JM with filming, towing Maisha, and stops it would be a full day for us. We usually didn't do more than 60 miles per day. Also, this trip was in October - December so our day light was limited.
that footage of the killer whale was incredible!!!
Thank you!
You did everything. Im so sorry she is gone and ty for this video. You guys are bravely exposing and expressing. I hope the healing can continue alongside the travel videos. The purpose continues as you know. Ty for honoring her and for your humanity and authentcity
You guys aren’t afraid of the cartels?
is Titus Canyon open? NPS website says its closed.
Not sure, I think there was damage after some heavy rains. NPS would have that info.
Great video
No sé llama Baja Se llama Baja Califonia
I grew up near Raleigh/Durham/Cary and ran on so much of that part of your path regularly. It looks like you came through at peak fall color. I love it there so much!
Nice video of a beautiful area. People just don't realize how beautiful it is in AZ. I believe this place is now on my list of places to hike with my wife. Thank you for showing us.🌵
Have fun!
Worcester=Wistah.
Great review! Do you think two small 10kg dogs could fit comfortably in the same trailer? If not, is there another you would recommend?
Yes, that probably would work great for them. We recently added a bark box bed from Amazon and cut it to fit in the trailer perfectly.
Love ur video. I live in Philadelphia. Iam doing my first bike tour philly too Miami FL. Would u be able too tell me where I can pick up the green way trail in Philadelphia . Greatly appreciated ❤❤
@@FezzDoldrum map.greenway.org/ will map you to it
Dang. Looks like mago's is now permanently closed. I was going to save it on Google maps. Great video and adventures y'all.
Thanks for posting. I live in MA and am considering my next trip to Florida (by bicycle) which I plan to start in a couple weeks. I’m debating between renting an SUV one-way to Pittsburgh to ride the GAP and C&O to Washington versus just getting on the ECG in MA and following the route you took. I like to (stealth) camp and use Warm Showers occasionally. Any advice or thoughts?
@@gsnyder2007 if you want to camp mainly the GAP and C&O are setup perfectly for that. ECG is more difficult for that in certain parts because it goes through several cities and urban areas. However, warmshowers.org was a great way to be able to camp in people's yards to keep costs down on such a long trip. Enjoy! 🚲🚲
@@suits2sandals Thanks much for that perspective. I saw you traveled the GAP/C&O in addition to this trip so really appreciate your advice on this.
I question where the flaps open in the best ways. Would a dog really want to look out the front of the trailer onto your rear wheel? I don’t think so. Or be looking out the rear of the trailer while it is moving forward? Every time your dog was looking out the rear, she was really trying to look to the side to see where you all were going, and definitely not just looking backwards. Think about how a dog travels in a car. In my experience they’re either sitting in the front seat, looking forward over the hood through the windshield, or they’re sitting in the back seat hanging out through a side window. Either way, they’re looking at what’s coming, not what’s going. IMO there should be an opening at the top of the trailer so the dog can sit up and poke their head through to be able to see in every direction, and there also should be openings at the side so, again, they can poke their head through and see forward. I just bought one of these based on how light weight and well made they are, but I am definitely going to try to modify the canopy to give my dog a better experience.
I luv this style of content!! Amazing to hear you both are living your best!! Happy Trails to you guys and keep the content coming!!
Absolutely inspiring. I’m a 60 year old man from the uk . I’m planning on doing the length of the uk with my old bulldog Alfie . Such useful information. X
enjoyed the video. thanks for creating it
Our pleasure!
Dang, we have a doggie beach in New Smyrna, from the coffee shop you stopped at (Island Roasters), you go east to peninsula, turn left (north) and it's a a mile or so in the river side but has a very nice beach.
@@SterlingStudios we really enjoyed that area!
Thanks, is there a larger version of this tailwagon suitable for big dogs?
Not that we have found. I wouldn't do bigger than 70lbs on this one.
In 2001 I rode a motorcycle to Cobo and back from Seattle and on the trip back we stopped on that same beach for the night. looks like the huts have been rebuilt since than because the ones that were there when we were there were in bad shape and not as big. we met some Hippie from Canada that was living there in one of them. I remember the next morning waking up taking a leak and hearing the water splashing and looking out on the water and seeing hundreds of dolphins jumping and the hippie spearfishing for breakfast that he shared with us. Good times!
How did your steel hitch connected to the bicycle do on your trips, they did not break with that weight?!?
The bracket goes through the rear through axel that has a rubber bushing. We have used it for over 5,500 miles with no issues. It works perfectly.
@@suits2sandals They don't break easily, that's good to know! The used trailer that I bought was missing the flag, the wheel protectors, AND the hitch. Because the last item is too overpriced - when I contacted Burley about it - I have never used the trailer thus far! :( Martin.
@@THEOneAndOnlyDOCTORofHUMANICS sorry to hear that
@@suits2sandals OK.
yea thats what happens when you nail your solar panels to the roof........if they are mobile, you can stay in any spot with a 50 foot cable.........and move your panels to maintain your batteries....................
We really haven't had issues with power.
Tks for the feedback on the cons as well as the pros! Yr video the only one that included Misha’s age and condition.
@@karinberryman2009 overall, we love it and replaced the mat that we had in it for a bark box bed memory foam for more comfort and it really helps absorb the bumps and give her a comfy ride.
Good video, nice trailer but the most expensive one I have seen
It really is a great trailer. We have had it for 4 years now and have put over 5,500 miles on it. It was worth the money for us.
Petting the gray whales in magdelena Bay has been on my bucket list for 3 years now. Maybe next winter.
Just a quick question; it does not appear that you stayed on the Downeast Sunrise Trail for the whole way from Ayers Junction to Ellsworth, but transferred over to the highway at some point? Is that because you found the Trail unsuitable for your bicycles? I am thinking of trying that Trail on my gravel bike in a couple of weeks, but have heard mixed reviews regarding the Trail's condition, torn up by ATVs etc? I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you might have on this subject. Thanks.
We decided to take the road on certain parts because of Maisha's dog trailer. The quick release wheels were wedging themselves out every couple miles because of how chunky the rocks were in certain parts. If we didn't have the dog trailer we would have been fine on either bikes. And the trail itself was beautiful ❤️
@@suits2sandals Thanks a lot for your very quick response. Very helpful. Best Regards.
Cool! Los Cerritos is just south of Todos Santos. Nice.
So sorry for your loss. I just joined your trip today and feel really bad for the both of you. Please just get home and rest. Baja will always be there.
Beautiful hike. Playa Juncalito is only about 2 miles north of Danzante Bay where we have stayed twice. The sailboat bay was Puerto Escondido. Thanks guys.
Great video! We have been to Loreto on two separate trips. We stayed about 35 minutes south at the Villa del Palmar Islands of Loreto. Snorkeling was unbelievable, I also played golf. Swimming with the sea lions had to be exciting. We plan to go back next year and we will take that tour. Did you ever eat at the restaraunt Mi Loreto?
We've walked by it several times but never are there. We will have to check it out next time we are in Baja. We always stop in Loreto.
Carlsbad Caverns in Arizona? 🤔🤔
They are in New Mexico
missed opportunity, i came to the details of ur video to find the link to buy product

To be fair they do offer upgraded wheels with chunkier wheels. A relatively pricey upgrade though.
Totally, the great thing about the 18" tires is that they are really easy to find anywhere. We have 5500 miles on the trailer now and still love it.
Thank you guys so much for making this review! We are taking our doggy along the GAP/C&O trail this fall and we think this trailer will do just fine!
holy shit . just came back with my dog and the trailer omg the trailer sucks ass and i had a flat tyre and could not repair it. just did 60km in belgium flanders with a grandmabike in 4hours with here and there a little break . so dead right now going to wash me and go to sleep xd . and it was in height 190meters up and down. but my dogg was happy tho so so am i
Wow, I am so surprised. We have put over 5,500 miles on ours and only have had to replace tires over the four years we have had it. Hope you have better luck on your next ride. 🐾🚲
