Do you share or sell your spread sheet?

This is so helpful. I’m going to create something like this for my items. I sell craft supplies on eBay and Etsy and books on Mercari, so my system might be slightly different but this is a great idea! Thanks for sharing.

I see you have an ALL expenses Tab, which seemed to (smartly) include all your OTHER COB general expenses (Bravo!) ~ I'm so bummed that Programs like List Perfectly, Vendoo, Primelister, CrossLister (too many out there!!) = DO NOT have an additional place to track your COB, beyond the COG/Shipping. ••••AS OF 3YRS LATER (w/all the upgrades of those Apps/Programs, DO YOU STILL FIND IT NECESSARY TO USE YOUR OWN SPREADSHEET? and in the same level of detail??) 2.) I saw "List Perfectly" as a line item in your master COB expenses listing. a lot has changed in last 3+ yrs w LP automation & time savings tools that allow you to input & track MOST if not all of your Inventory COG/Item Info Tracking Spreedsheet Tab: (see Q #1) = Do you STILL NEED BOTH? And if you do, Do you ALSO NEED a 3rd System for Business True Net Profit bottom line all in w/ Tax reporting Profit&Loss Analytics = such as "My Reseller Genie" or "Quickboks" BOTTOM LINE: As of 2024 now: HOW MANY PROGRAMS DO YOU USE TO COVER ALL NEEDS? Watch your video halfway, hopefully I don't miss anything. I just thought the spreadsheet details thing is not necessary and time consuming. A lot of time when you buy for one place, you just do an aggregate of how much you pay, and when you sell something, there is really no need to write down every single detail. eBay provide report for you weekly - which you can take: the sales amount, fees, etc. Postage is again aggregate, for example if you ahve an account with post office or carrier. The easiest way to do is to have one file for sale, you can write down weekly amount, then another spreadsheet for list of expenses: date, what expense it is then amount. Your system may be good if you accepting consignment from someone.

Hello, I have been trying to come up with a system to keep track. I haven’t sold many things yet, but filed for an extension on taxes 23. If it’s still available, I would really love to purchase your system. Also, does it have a column for sales tax paid when purchasing items?

Very organized BUT try taking in account the amount of time you spent with not so necessary info entered here such as (how many days it took to sell) and account that as COST of doing business as well. You may find that while organization is key - going over the board with it will cost you money.

Can you send me a copy of your basic spreadsheet just categories and column titles (no $ info ) not sure I can figure out the formulas because I don’t know excel but will see. Thanks

seems like a lot of work, have you since streamlined this? just seems like a lot of wasted time, esp if your data input is not already in the csv format that ebay requires to make draft listings

What type of shelves do you have? They look cool. I just got a bit confused when you put the price of items in one place then list the total of $21.44 as an expense. It only becomes an expense when it’s actually sold hence cost of goods sold. Did I get this wrong? I need to start this but feel really overwhelmed starting…..just subscribed to your channel

If you have a big bundle, and it’s less then 5lbs, and you are combining shipping ($7.95) would the large mailing box still pass as $7.95 with the postal office? Do you recommend combining shipping?

I absolutely LOVE your transparency!

I started reselling in 2000, stopped then picked it back up last year. I do it part time, list and sell 7 per day. I sell mostly theifted clothes. When I really dug deep into the numbers, I discovered that I only made about $8-9 item after adding in all the expenses and everything including all the unsold inventory that no one ever facrors into their business. Since you seems like an educated person and has such potential to be a writer, I dont think its wise to use up your time on a low yielding endevour. We have to think of opportunity cost for our time. Some people say I love it! I love finding gold in the thrift store and flipping it. Well, if were being honest, thats a dopamine hit similar to what you get gambling or doing an addictive activity. I also stopped selling and the 2-3 hrs you free up on average per day equates to so much more physical and mind share space than you think.

the whole reason why i want reselling to work for me is so I am my own boss, i'm so done with managers making me feel like i'm not good enough

Full time for 15 years. I sell everything you could imagine. I love this Job and will most likely do this full time for the rest of my life. However I did get started early in the game,and have the momentum/inventory to stay afloat when things are dry, and sources do dry up as they never last. Am I wealthy, LOL I wish cause then I could quit 🤣 The reality is I am doing fairly well,but I have almost 0 down time as I am always in search for inventory or listing or shipping. I worry about the future of this business on a daily basis, how long will this last,how long will I last. It is not a financially comfortable gig, but I made it pretty far. If I had a stable job would I quit to resell, absolutely not. I do this full time,and I refer to myself as a financial kamakzi as it is eather I win or go broke,and sometimes im a real hurt puppy 🤣 You know how they say do not try this at home 🤣🤣 that is me talking to your bank account 🤣 that is what reselling full time is like when you sell everything and give it your all for 15 years.

Just came across your video. I to started reselling part time in July 2020 and went full time in August 2021. Before 2020 I use to sell 10-100 items a year just randomly. When I went full time in August 2021 I too had 6 months worth of money to pay all my bills, plus lots of stock so went from there. However since March 2022 with the cost of living sales have fallen of a cliff. Payday week is amazing, but the other 3 weeks of the month are poor. Want to stay as I'am with Q4 around the corner but as it stands there's a 99% chance I will drop down to part time in January and get a part time job. Really love reselling full time as your your own boss. But at the end of the day you need to be able to live. Sadly going into 2023 I can see it getting worse with a recession looming and the cost of living increasing even more in January. Plus here in the UK this year there are so many more part time resellers trying to make extra to pay their bills. Unless you've got 1000's of items listed, being full time is mega hard. Good luck with the writing, hope it's going well for you.
