Sorry. Been away, I took my first passenger up a few weeks back and lost all electrics (and also flaps!) 😅 I'm building my trust back up in the aircraft for a while!

Yeah, I haven't had much chance to fly over winter but would still recommend it.

@@stratotramp6243 well winter is seldom conducive to regular flying which I imagine is frustrating for you and not great for learning where regularity is key- Hopefully better weather is only a month or so away. Do you still have contacts at sackville? I’m wondering who I should inquire with there to get started. Cheers

(Edit: just realised I am talking about CT2K will update with x-air info) Thanks for watching Aeronaut. 13 knots X-wind max. Super size tail "fin" (just like a tornado (the fin) 🤣). Will try post more soon... Not been doing a lot of flying and that I did didn't seem interesting enough to post. Have just done my second solo nav in the X-Air. Must less nervous this time. Few more solo hours and then GST. Hopefully it will come together quite quickly now (long time coming. Will make a video documenting saga once I have the licence).

@@stratotramp6243 13 knots is quite some wind 👍 i have been eyeing some similar planes for some time (most in tandem configuration)... I like the inside. It has amazing visibility without the engine in front of your nose.

X-Air is 15 knots! Though not sure I'd want to do It. Manual recommends crabbing approach only. CT is pretty good (almost sit on top of the engine, better vis than Ikarus C42, but much louder inside!)

@@musoseven8218 hard to land - apparently? (Not being cocky just what I started in so nothing to compare to) Pretty loud inside as you are so close to the engine. Guess harder to repair than skyranger etc. Not the cheapest way to get into air. 40⁰ flaps a bit scary.

Will add it to the list. Everything is a bit out of sink. I was on the verge of passing in July but then the plane got damaged so it threw me off as sat around for 3 months. Then into Ikarus C42 then into X-Air. But deffo looking for things to do when I have the licence... To go with the plane I've got!

That is definitely not a good place to be in. You want consistency to prepare for your GST. Were not many flying days over winter anyway.

Hi Pantelis, good question. I will have a look. I made this video right when it was being announced so the rules are catching up / clearer now and a number of 600kg aircraft have been certified for the UK. There was something about differences training.

@@stratotramp6243 Thanks for coming back to me. I think the microlight licence requirements are a bit "lighter" in some respects. I will call a flying school and see what they say, will report back here. Thank you. PS. The Shark looks amazing.

@@PantelisKokkalis For sure, can be around half the price of a GA licence. Though the limitations beside the weight are 2 seater, and VFR flight only (no IMC / Night flying). I found this can you access it? Sect 6.5. www.bmaa.org/files/til_078_microlight_differences_training.pdf I'm not 100% sure the shark has got through yet, but if not they are deffo working on it.

Yep Chris, Beautiful. When I was a 90s kid, I was all about jets! - but as i get older starting to appreciate the things from further back. Recently discovered the Supermarine S5.

Yep there's a flex wing flyer I know who takes the mick - He keeps saying to me "that's not a Microlight it's a spaceshuttle" thinks it is too far removed from Microlight purity! 😂

@@ess64cee Nah, everything is out of sync. One more solo nav ex and GST. But been like that for ages. Since July. Was making really good progress but then CT got damaged and I've been switching aircraft since. Have 2 C42s, 1 X-air and Thruster on licence. I would just like a spell in one solid to get over the line. It is really frustrating. Didn't get any flying Nov-Jan either! I think everything will suddenly come together though.

It only goes right 1 way, where as there are thousands of ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 🤣 thanks for watching. Can't wait for KSP2 never built anything as creative as you do though!

Thanks Steve. 👍 I don't know your circumstances but if you don't fly consider giving it a go. I wish I started 10 years sooner. I assumed it would be too expensive. Microlighting (ultralights in US) is a budget way to get started. Even flying an X-air is amazing and I could have done that 20 years ago as an apprentice.

I think ground exams the same but you just need differences training (not 100%)

@@michaellane2501 Yep stay the course, does look calmer next week including sat! Hope it works out. If there is one (not very good) silver lining it is that it keeps flying cheaper as you can only do 50% of the flying which you want. Though to be honest I would rather flying was "Take all my money" I just want to be up there - That said, did start the process of buying the CT today! We actually got it back.

Ha cheers. Maybe a bit too epic... but went with it. 🤣 Had to use what I had. Not much space in X-air for AV. I don't think it will come off (wind poss a bit too high) but possibly travelling to sulby Friday in the X-Air with instructor to pick up CT.

Thanks. It could technically, not sure about when it is flown by me 🤣, if wind comes down a bit might fly over to air masters sulby later in week with instructor to pick up CT2K, though he'd be flying that back and I'd have to get back in the X-Air! Lucky I'd have a tail wind on the way back.

I think i was talking to the chap With other other ?luscombe? last time (Owns the range rover) Haven't been flying for ages. In the X-air at the moment, but will be buying Adrian's CT when it comes back from Airmasters.

Just seen this. Very good reason why I always land on the left… poor piloting! I’m just happy to get it on the ground, getting it near the line is a bonus.
