There was a 3-car crash and another car spun on the first lap in the hairpin corner in 1962, so I don't think the start in this clip is from the actual race.

This is the same guy who voiced the snowman in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! I thought he sounded familiar.

Fantastic. Great video quality. So many differences from how it is today. No sponsorship logos, very little protection for the fans on the side of the course, really high profile bias ply tires... The chicane at the bottom of the hill after the tunnel really isn't much of a chicane at all; they can just thread the needle and drive straight through it!

Beautiful video, but seeing a lot of signs of artifaction from frame interpolation in this. Unfortunate to not preserve it without these artifacts, I'd gladly watch this at a lower frame rate.

The artificial 60 fps makes it look like a video image shot yesterday. It looks really realistic, but gone is the feeling of the original film, shot at 24 fps in 70mm. Feels weird.

Le circuit était vraiment beau a l'époque ! Mtn on ne vois plus que de barrière, ok pour la sécurité, mais c'est peut-être devenu un peu trop ... Ou alors supprimons le tout simplement, il n'a plus de charme et a également perdu le côté compétition vu qu'on ne sait plus dépasser ! A quoi bon le garder ???

Yes, film’s resolution is comparable or even better than 4K. What people are reacting to and what others are missing is the speed at which the footage was shot. It looks like if it’s modern day footage because I don’t think it was shot at 24 fps, which was pretty standard back then. It was shot at a higher fps which gives it a more live sport telecast look like today. Why they chose to do this at that time is unusual since everything was shot in 24 fps (to save money and for cinematic look).
