Amazing film from one of the most challenging years of F1. Mind blowing 70mm photography from air and a 300sl. John Frankenheimer must have seen this. Too bad the narrator has such a droll and banal tone. He confuses Graham with Phil at the start of this. Let us never forget Jack Barkcam..in car 15...Nice job. He sounds like he was never there. KIck him cause he sounds like he might fall asleep.

The commentator voice sounds like American actor/singer Burl Ives. Some might know the voice from the "snowman" doing the narration in the animated puppet show "Rudolf the Red nose Reindeer" .

Absolutley fabulous video! Thank you for sharing. Note that at 3:45 the narrator mistakenly refers to New Zealand driver, Bruce McLaren in car 14, as "Jack Bartram". I think he made a double-error, because there is no "Jack Bartram" but there is Jack Brabham from Australia in car 22. A minor slip which was clarified when Bruce won the race in car 14 and the narrator got it right. Sorry, I'm from Australia/NZ, so just had to comment!

The guy with the chequered flag wants the Darwin award too.

Imaging doing something so hard that your body simply shuts down so you wont die. This cars were heavy, powersteering less, manual transmitions, pure stregth , endurance and skill to drive those 1000hp beasts, in scoraching hot, stressing race tracks, adrenaline pumping, when he went to push , that track would have probably been as hot a pan, the mount of sportsmanship spitit in this man was the same as the one in the people that have push our species forward.... what a guy.

Incredible film. But it also reveals just how plain and ugly the architecture of Monte Carlo was, and is. The shots of the shark nose ferrari and beautiful F1 cars of the period in glorious colour are fabulous.

I feel bad for Jansen's brother, goes about his job, doesn't put two and two together and asks, where did Jansen go? He was right beside him when crossing the track, sad that he's yet to realise his brother is highly mutillated a tiny bit further up the track

Incroyable restauration

Superb job sir! Any rabid Motorsport and historic Motorsport enthusiast need to get subscribed to your channel, stat. 1966 was amazing but It's such a bittersweet story. I'm not a huge fan of Henry Ford or Junior. But sometimes it takes a megalomaniac to win le mans, esp. in only 3 years of trying. The saddest for me though, was that Ken Miles died so young. What a racer and engineer. First, Ken Miles and Denny Hulme were robbed of first place. Have you read 'The Cobra Ferrari wars' by Michael Shoen? It's not light reading, but much like 'racing in the rain' by John Horsman, it's fascinating in it's own way.
