Vee Vicariously

Walk through foreign locations along with me - vicariously! No flyovers, animations or flowery travel language here. Drone videos are pretty, but almost anything looks good from a distance. I want you to feel like you are on the ground, by my side, peaking around corners, wandering narrow streets, poking your head into places not necessarily meant for tourists. I'm not a travel agent. Just a camera-shy (you won't often see my face) early retiree encouraging others to cross their borders. Nothing is sponsored so you are getting the unvarnished view of everything I mention.
This is a new channel so I truly appreciate each subscription. Please turn on notifications because I only post when there is something of substance to to share. Thanks for the support!

International Travel
No drones, no elaborate animations or photo shopping. See these places just as you would if you were walking through these international destinations right by my side. I'm providing authenticity, not brochures stuff. I'm not a travel professional. I retired early to travel more and enlighten others as someone did for me. My goal is to show you how achievable such journey's are and to dig deeper than locking at famous landmarks. Get into the culture.
With my videos you'll get some close up views of foreign and not-so-foreign countries and cities vicariously for free! If you disagree with a statement in a video, please call me out on it in the comments so I can learn from you too! I hope yo...

No fly-over clips here. I'm providing a close up view of what you would see on foot. Come with me vicariously to Martinique, Guadalupe, Martinique, St. Johns, St. Kitts, Grenada. In a brief seven minutes I'll show you some beautiful sights while sprinkling in a bit of history. If you go, you'll have a better understanding of what you're seeing. #granada #stkitts #guadalupe #martinique #stjohns ...
Cuba - Havana and Cuban Countryside. No drone shots. Walk with me.

Most videos on Cuba spend a lot of time on Havana, its capital. I wanted to go beyond that and show you different, ore suburban or rural lifestyles there in order to capture the natural beauty of this island nation. Please note that we took this trip in 2023. In this vid, I encourage people to explore Cuba for themselves but please note, things have changed for the worse in Cuba since we've bee...

Here you will get to join me on my walk through "Old Vegas" or Freemont Street which is considered Downtown Vegas. So much has been done on Las Vegas Boulevard (strip) where you see the famous mega hotels like Caesars Palace, Bellagio and the Venetian. I was commemorating my cousin Sandra's 60th birthday on this 4 day trip. We stayed at the Plaza Casino Hotel in downtown Vega on Freemont street...
Walk with me through the city of Venice, Italy

A realistic view of what you can see as you walk with me vicariously through this fascinating city. We'll explore the stunning canals, vibrant plazas, important landmarks and other nuances that makes this place unlike any other. You'll come with me along the same streets that residents walk every day on foot (because cars are not allowed.) Be careful, you might learn something! #veniceitaly #ve...

This is quick overview of some iconic areas of New York that you will see when simply wandering the city. I've included a hard look at some beautiful architecture that helps you understand why tourists are always looking up. You can always skip the first minute if the architecture doesn't interest you. Great tips for visitors. If you've been there, let me know what you think of this and share w...
Great lessons, especially #5
Trinidadian here...the stilts and Carnival are a key part of our culture. Moko Jumbie.
I heard that word Moko Jumbie AFTER I finished the video. I would have wanted to use that with an explanation. Next time.
Thank you
Thanks for the history lesson, Vera!!! Great way to share your travel adventures and teach us at the same time. 😊
What good is travel if you don't know the meaning behind what you're looking at? It's travel that connects the dots to what we learned in school.
Cuba is great. I love it there
So beautiful. The people and the land, right?
Wow, that was interesting
Closer to God😮
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much for supporting me. I hope you subscribed, but the comment means even more.
Nice pics V - Travel has taught me that people are basically the same where ever you go, meaning they want to earn a decent wage so they can provide for their families and live in peace if possible. If you treat them with respect they will reciprocate and can be especially helpful if they know you are visiting from afar.
Exactly. It has also taught me that America spreads a lot of BS about other countries to make itself appear to be the next best thing to sliced bread. Sooooo NOT true. But you have to travel to see that.
Nice V, is that Venice? Wow! It's like being there! Thanks for the mini tour and the info!
Hey I'm just glad you got something out of it. I want my videos to be realistic and close up.
😃
Barbados is amazing. We rented a car, and driving on the left side of the road is also an adventurous experience. Lol
Number 5 it’s just the best advice!!
It's a little harder to stick to number 5 if you're married, but in general, yeah, don't wait for others. Thanks for taking a moment to watch and comment. See you soon! Vee
Saturday January 18th amazingly beautiful and full of culture! Vera you could have taken Hoda’s place on the Today show ! You are gifted with language.
Thanks! I had a great time making it.
The Caribbean is beautiful. I've been to the Bahamas and Barbados, great trips.
@@isaiahsaul1769 thanks for watching. And especially for your commentary
Thanks Vera, always appreciate your sharing. The only one I haven’t yet visited is Guadeloupe. I want to because of the French & Spanish influence. I agree with the similarities you noted. One difference that’s significant to me is that islands like Nevis, St Johns, St Croix, Virgin Gorda & Lil Dix Bay (BVI) beaches seem more pristine & my guess is that’s because the only way to get to them is by ferry. That limits the population, etc. I feel at home on any of the islands given the people, food & culture. I need to see which are left to visit & make some plans. Relaxing under an umbrella on the beach with good company, food & a little music is nirvana for me🎉❤.
Exactly. I was wondering if I was missing something. I love that such beauty is close to the US but it's time for me to go further away now. Need more substance.
@@Yvonne-s7h caribbean is perfect for relaxation and outdoor enthusiasts. In my opinion. And it's not too far. But i'm always ready to go further.
Loved the beautiful pictures and your commentary.
Thanks so much for taking a moment. But you never offered your opinion of the Caribbean. Have you been?
Very nice. Enjoyed your info.
Thanks loads for taking a look.
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾. And for the information that was unknown to me. I would love to go there to visit someday ❤
Yay! You were inspired! That's why I do this. Mission accomplished!
Beautiful trip ❤
Thank you so much for taking a look. Have you been to the Caribbean?
Thank you. This helps and I learned
Yaaaay! You picked up a knowledge nugget or two. My work is done. :)
@@veevicariously your work is never done. Keep it up!

What do you think about merida based on this video, and can you recommend another place in Mexico to visit??
Have you been to the Caribbean? Do you agree with my assessment? Let me know.
So creative! I can't to see where you go next!
Thanks for taking me with you on your travels. Because right now I can't afford to go to all of these places but you do bring it all home for me. To motivate me to want to take my wife to see the whole world
10:02am 26 Dec 2024. Really great job, you're a natural, either in front of or behind the camera.
You are too kind. I love being behind the camera.
❤ Could you move to Cuba from the US?
No. Not that easy. A very closed country and you wouldn't want to live there now Residents are even more restricted since the making of this video.
Vera, this is awesome!! Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Lovely to document your travels! Thanks for sharing the journey!
Cuz this is informative, interesting, educational and the country is beautiful❤️
I watched until the end, Fam. Loved it
@BrwnSgr5 thanks so much for taking a minute to support me. Still learning how to edit.
This was amazing. Loved every bit of it. ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch. Have you ever been to cuba?
No I have not.
I forgot to mention that one of the benefits of the trade embargo is the fact that Cubans don't have access to a lot of highly processed foods from the US. As a result, the vast majority of their food is completely organic at no extra cost.
This was a great tag along with you guys. Thanks for sharing
Thanks V! That’s was so nice and I really enjoyed the video.❤
Thanks for watching! I had a great time making it.
Thanks V. I watched to the end. This video was informative and gave great insight with a twist.
Glad you liked the twist!
I'm so disappointed with how American propaganda has depicted Mexico. That's why it's important to travel as much as you can to see things for yourself.
This is very informative. I want to go to Mexico again
Mexico is amazing.
Lovvvvvvving it cuzzo..Enjoy life🦋❤️
