I turned mine into a bar. I sanded it down, stained it all.ost black. My husband hung the top section on the wall to make it look like our kitchen cabinets. We order under cabinet wine glass holder and wine holders and hung them on the bottom and used the bottom of the hutch as a dry bar. Wall papered the back of the hutch. 👩‍🎨🖼️🥂🍾🍷

I’m guessing decades old enamel paint. Did you check for lead based paint? Chipping off paint has the sort of “emotional necessity” of one pulling or scraping off chipped nail polish! 😊
