only you could make a video about salling to buy a sewing machine and make the whole thing interesting!
haha yea thats a point maybe I should have talked about the furler I got as well but that might not have been so interesting. Hope to make some better vid's in the future
Love your work Ross! What a great machine...you'll have fun with that.
great trip - looks like a WONDERfull sewing machine too❤
Great instructions on the Readś, Thanks for the sail north. Bream Bay always a charm...🐋
These old guys are like young preteen kids lol
Was the Hartley TS12 there?
Great winter sail!
Thanks Ross. So cool seeing North Cove. All the bits I missed when I was a lad. Happy sailing.
Ahoy , Thanks for the winter weather update Ross 🙏 Great sailing conditions when you can rely on a constant wind and a winter calm / then to an empty bay to Anchor 🐋 Thanks for sharing...see ya soon. 💫
We on our couches don't have a 37 foot trimaran to brave the big seas that would swamp our dinghies.
Thanks Ross that was fascinating..
Hi friends ❤
Very interesting, well done! Thank you!
nice one Matiatia crew, 🐋
Good on you Ross, another great video - you certainly do have salt water in your veins!
awesome vid - you guys are doing it !
she really is a good boat with an enclosed cockpit and being able to carry kayaks, great for expeditions like this.
Thanks Ross. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Ross what a beautiful location for a gathering and 4 Pathfinders. I really enjoyed it, cheers Paul

Great vid Ross…worth recording this sort of event…lots of great ideas shared
Another goodie Ross. Gotta get back to Rotoiti that’s for sure..
Nice one Ross love your vids and the little insights into other peoples boats, well done also love how you put your own music and lyrics into it, a great vibe.
What a choice sailing spot Bro.....
LOVE IT! You're a bloody legend Ross...well done...Mat & Jo
haha gotta have a laugh sometimes. We lucky dinghy nuts.
Thanks for sharing. I get to see quite a few scamps, but seeing all these boats on the water is inspiring. Looking forward to seeing more long steps, and other pathfinder stuff too.
Google man
fan bloody tastic, great shots of classics, good time had. enjoyable watch.
What a fantastic video Ross. I think John's designs enable people to enjoy boating in a special unique way!!!
Fantastic overview of the event Ross. Well Done! I think you've captured the innovations, modifications and personalisations we all have done to our vessels - admirably. It was a superb few days!!! I counted 17x sailboats, only 2x not Welsfords. There were (by my reckoning) - 4x Pathfinders, 3x Scamps, 2x? Navigators, Whaler, LONG STEPS, Houdini, Seagull, Tread Lightly, any more? - Looking forward to the next one....... THANKS....................................GH
Thanks Graham. It took a while to edit this one. I must change to a GoPro and that way its always horizontal and steady. And have mounts like Roger Barnes. Gives more action on the vessel. But I notice even though its over 1000 views only men over 65yrs whuch kinda doesnt sound to good.
Great day sail Ross 👍, those hot pools look inviting, thanks for sharing 🙏....from the crew of Snap Dragon in the Bay of Islands
Great video. It's useful to be able to compare the various designs side by side.
Great job Ross .... many thanks , really awesome 👌
Oh my. I can't imagine building such a beautiful craft and it not being sailed.... Will you keep it or find it a good home?
she was really skipping along there in the middle of the video!
Bravo well done Ross .
Great video! Thank you. It's unfortunate that more people don't focus on sailing little boats like this. I think the world would be less angry if everyone took a sail and camp once a month.
Thanks Ross, brought back some lovely memories. We stayed in a house there overlooking the lake and the little bay by the ramp, took out some kayaks and paddled around....about 15 years ago, cheers Paul
nice one. 15yrs ago I wasn't even into dinghy cruising. ha. Rotorua has a lot to offer re all the lakes.
I enjoyed that thank you…
Well done Ross. Nice trip.
What a beautiful day of calm! Just how I remember it from childhood ❤
What a great little adventure Ross!!!
Great trip report Ross. Tarawera can be a savage mistress if you're at the wrong end - lee shore. That hot pool is fantastic at the end of a days sailing as the air starts to chill - or even before breakfast! The little cove there is sheltered and a superb overnite spot. You mostly got great conditions and squeezed a lot into 1 day. You'll have to go back. Just give me a call, and we'll set something up and show you around properly. It really is a magical place! 👍 GH
yea that would be nice to be shown around the place. I heard poor Mullings nearly got taken down the outlet in his boat must be bit dangerous.
