    This is a bit of a joke as that might work for beginners for certainly for advanced player. Moreover I am sorry to say that this is not the best serve technique I have seen. For sure, first you need to build control and accuracy but then using a technique which allows to evolve and gain power and not just push the ball

    The pronating wrist flip you demonstrating is the actual reason players amateurs are in consistent and in accurate. All second serves, the only serve that matters, establish an edge and maintain the edge through impact. The pronation just dissipates the energy. Try to chop off your enemy’s head with the edge of your pronating. You are demoing a flattish poof serve, probably with too forehand a grip. If you are just going to take all the necessary extension (not jumping, no one tells themselves to jump; they just extend up to a proper toss), then teach teach the underhand cut serve. 75% of 3.0 or less women would serve better underhand. Learning to serve with that pull down you are doing is engraining bad habits that will have to be unlearned if they, heaven forbid, actually get better. But you wouldn’t know anything about that.

    Some great advice! I agree that the progression for someone learning to serve is to get the toss and contact point dialled in first, then improve pronation of the forearm. Next would be weight transfer, and finally jumping. Pronation, weight transfer, and jumping all add power to the serve, but jumping should be added only when the other pieces are working nicely.

    I actually have a ball machine (lobster low-end but it's still pretty good) and that helps quite a bit and of course is solo practice. I think one of the main benefits of "drop hitting" as it is called here is that sometimes in a rally you get a ball with little or no pace -- could be at any depth ie close to the net or back by the baseline. Hitting a ball that's not coming at you is a unique skill apart from regular hitting and it requires practice.

    • @StreetWiseTennis
      @StreetWiseTennis 28 дней назад

      Yes that is a hard ball to hit with no pace especially if you are running towards it.

      A good practice partner is very valuable. You both have to be on the same page as far as the goals. Try tennis facebook groups in your area and ask for a hitting partner or mutual basket feeder. You feed they feed and bang you got training!

    Finally ! Someone that shares the same philosophy I have about how you can be a devastating tennis player - solo practice sessions ! I spend 2 hours a day 6 days a week perfecting every stroke on the wall in the racquetball court at my club ! Plus 1 hour for serve practice every other day . The rest of the time is spent hitting live balls with other players in a match. A 80 / 20 split - 80% solo practice and 20% live hitting ! The wall is my favorite practice partner . It never complains and is always ready to play and help me out ! The results are astronomical !

      Is the wall enough to get better as a solo player?!

    • @lordbyron3603
      @lordbyron3603 26 дней назад

      @ Yes ! And why is that ? Because you learn to develop and perfect “your techniques and skills bit by bit ! You learn what it’s going to take your body to its maximum potential! If you make a mistake on the court while playing,, you figure out what you did wrong on the wall and correct it. Don’t keep making the same error over and over again. I developed 6 variations on my Forehand and 6 variations on my Backhand! They’re basically the same except for a slight minor difference for a particular shot situation. For example : baseline rallies, a wide running shot, an approach shot , a high ball , a low ball ! Another reason for having multiple variations to your forehand and backhand - is to simply have a “ back up plan !” Often times, our body refuses to do what we want. So, don’t fight it. Don’t continue to do what it doesn’t want. Instead ,, give it one of the forehand variations and see if it approves. If it does, then use that variation! Bottom line is … don’t fight your body . Surrender to it ! When you do , it becomes your friend and will take care of you.

      @StreetWiseTennis Месяц назад

      @johnaronson5974 a ball machine if allowed on a court is a good option. If it's a cheaper machine like the slinger I rather drop hit. The slinger puts out a strange spin ball that doesn't feel realistic. I found myself having to adapt my stroke to hit the stringer ball. At least that is what I experienced.

  • @al1976-v7m
    @al1976-v7m 3 месяца назад

    I am really sorry man but you made some good observations, unfortunately interpreting them the wrong way and contradicting yourself with each sentence. The blur always shows up behind the ball (time wise), like a trace, thus on image 2 (where you see the ball compressing into the court) you see the blur ABOVE the ball because it's been deflected off the edge of the racket and changed its trajectory DOWNWARD, which created the strong bounce that was also very audible during the point. The racket, as you observed correctly, is also blurred because the frame was moved back quickly on impact, slightly turning the racket in Jack's hands. Your last sentence (hypothesis what would've happened if the ball hit the racket first), IS exactly what DID happen, except for the "towards Felix" part. It hit the edge of the frame, and since the edge is rounded when the ball hits the curve it will bounce off at around 90°, in this case more or less straight downward, creating a very strong vertical bounce. A normal volley or half volley could not have bounced up that high and straight and without much spin. Hope this helps clearing things up for you. If this all sounded very confusing, take one good look at the very first frame. Consider the blur which indicates the trajectory of the ball. Consider that Jack is moving towards the ball. Consider that it's just milliseconds away from him. Do you really think that ball is going to touch the ground? Doesn't it look like it's heading straight for the racket frame?

  • @blahraptors
    @blahraptors 3 месяца назад

    Wrong, hit racket ground and racket again. Look at the trajectory of the ball before it hits the racket

  • @misterphmpg8106
    @misterphmpg8106 3 месяца назад

    The laws of physics clearly say that it’s impossible that the ball from this angle in this height has hit the ground before it hit the racket because the trajectory Of the ball indicated by the blurred line clearly shows that if the racket hadn’t been there The ball would have flown at least 30 cm more to the right before It would’ve been able to hit the floor. No, as opposed to that, you can clearly see that the ball hit the frame of the racket, then bounced to the floor, bounced up again against the frame of the racket and then against the stringing of the racket almost straight up to left upwards a little bit to the left . So that’s absolutely clear against the law of tennis.
