Thanks for your kind comments about my work

We cocreated our relationship and i see where i have been controlling and now we are trying to cocreate a new relationship. Im 100% committed to trying to figure out how i can be the best partner. Im not sure if either of us are gaslighting but maybe just had experienced the same thing differently. Weve got to figure all this stuff out. I suggested a couples therapist after more individual therapy and she said id try to dominate that. I said she can pick the therapist. I am proud of the progress she had made with boundaries and calling me out but these are behaviors that we have over 14 years so its not going to change overnight. Again im 100% committed on figuring this out and making the changes.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. I hope you found the video helpful. Insight and awareness and willingness to work hard to change are so important.
This is such a quality episode, thank you to the guests for sharing so openly their career paths and experiences!
Ahh thanks so much for your kind words and for watching. There’s a whole series of assistant psych videos you may find helpful if you click the playlist options.
Love that comment at the end about the financial impact of doing a different degree initially. I think this links in with class too. I was also first gen to go to uni and didn't have anyone around me to model a path. Family hasn't continued education after school so career advice was non existent really. I also just pursued what I enjoyed (art and photography) so couldn't get funding for a full time psych degree later when I figured out what I wanted to do. Thankfully in Wales, I could get funding for part time which is where the Open University came in and allowed me to pursue this path!
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. So pleased this resonated with you and hope you enjoy the other videos in the podcast too.
Great reel to showcase how amazing you are. Well done x

I've had two c-sections (emergency) and a spine fusion, yet I'm nervous about my mole removal 😅😅
It’s normal to feel some apprehension about a procedure where is your mole?
@ it's on my nostril which I know will be fun for numbing. But your video eased my worries!
@@allisonlandescoI am so pleased the videos have helped. There’s a whole series too. Nostril may be hard to keep a patch on - do keep us posted
This is messed up using Liam Payne's death to promote your channel.
how is this “using” his death, she’s merely using his upcoming funeral as an example of how to deal with grief
it’s an informative and possibly helpful sjort
Thanks for watching and for your comment. Even now I receive daily messages from fans thanking me for the validating and compassionate content.
Thanks for your support that’s really kind. Yes indeed. People have found it helpful and validating. Grief and trauma my specialism and don’t get enough air time.
Thanks again ☺️

Fascinating
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I most definitely think so and love this episode!! Glad you do too.
Hello, I'm watching this from Pakistan. And on route to pursue stage 1 competence in health psychology. I was wondering of Stage 2 competency via training for two years involve any supervisor? I couldnt catch that bit in this video. And if yes, is remote supervision enough?
Thanks for watching and for your comment. I will check with Nicola and come back to you.
I checked with Nicola: Hi Marianne, yes, much like clinical psychology training you need an overall supervisor for the stage 2 programme but also individual placement supervisors. So entirely remote is unlikely to be sufficient
I was disappointed with this episode. As mental Health professionals I think we can rise above talking down other professions. But this was done numerous times with a ‘tick boxing’ wording to cover your backs.
Thanks for your comment. I don’t believe we talked down about any professions. I loved being an AP but the pay is not affordable for many.
Flipping burgers.. working in shops… yes you did. Maybe some reflection is needee
I’ve worked in shops and earned the same money but needed to have done a degree to do my assistant psych jobs and there was never a risk to me or my clients in a shop so I do stand by what was said but sorry to have caused offence. Are you an aspiring psych?
@pt4005 Hi Thanks for your comment. I only spoke about my personal experiences and I have worked in fast food shops and retail (and enjoyed the experiences) the point that I was trying to make is, to do those roles, you don't need to have gone to university, gotten into debt and gained lots of varied experience. The roles in psychology demand alot of us in lots of ways so at times it can result in burn out where we might question why we are working in the field for little extra than minimum wage. I may have worded things a little clumsily because I've never been on a podcast before and I was nervous. But it wasn't my intention to insult any other types of work. Like I said I've been a part of those industries before and they are very much valued in society. I hope you can forgive my expression and look at the worth in this discussion.
Such a beautiful response and this is exactly the context in which I understood it. If I felt it had been disparaging I would have asked for a re-take of that section and I think you made a very thoughtful and insightful guest thanks again for your time in speaking with me.

Welcome aboard! It is simple. We will use Instagram soon.
I don’t understand
Such a helpful video, Marianne! I appreciate you making these so accessible!
Ahhh so pleased to hear this and thanks for your comment. Wishing you well with future applications.
There are few problems. One no one cares about men’s health/wellbeing, until someone they love is affected by it. Second it is a taboo subject that media seem to shadow ban the topic. I don’t know if they think that are other things on the agenda to push? However young me are not attending post secondary at a large rate the few that go drop out at a large rate, not dating, unaliving ourselves. The pressure is large for men be everything and “man up” then hear “you’re not important, no one cares about you!” Thank you for talking about this important subject! This epidemic needs more light
Thanks for watching and for your comment. Do you have any data for young men and post secondary as in the uk it’s compulsory until aged 18.
I liked and subscribed just by hearing the intro song alone!
Ahhh thanks so much. I love the jingle! As the podcast series goes on RUclips miss out on the jingle as people often weren’t sticking around to let the jingle play out to watch the video! But true psychology fans hopefully knew it was them in the right place!
Great video Marianne! Speaking from my NHS experience of shortlisting thousands of AP applications the thing to remember is that the person who is reading your application is most likely SKIMMING it. So get the basics right: spelling, tailoring the application to the actual job you are applying for and work on that first sentence being something that pops out of the application to stop the skim!
Such great advice. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment too. That’s very kind of you.
It was so useful for me ,am trying to find on the filed of psychology to major on
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. So pleased you found it helpful. The podcast series is now award winning so please watch more too safe in the knowledge it’s great!
