I pulled one of my more peaceful fish in the 550 gallon aquarium a chocolate emerald cichlid about 4 1/2" long. then two days later I pulled from the 150 gallon aquarium in the bathroom. 4 smaller fish. one African leaf fish, 1 electric blue acara, in two juvenile uaru cichlids. #aquascape #diy #fish #fishaquarium #fishroom #fishtank #mbuna #severum #severumcichlid #uaru

Beautiful setups and fish! I feel your pain on trying to catch that Salvini. I am always reluctant to add fish to my big tank because catching anything if it needs to come back out is a nightmare. Many years ago I made the mistake of adding a red terror; he tried to murder everything in the tank and it took me over 2 hours to catch him. I have a 6" mesoheros gephyrus in a 70G all by himself because I'm worried that he will be a menace to the other fish if I add him to the 770.
Yes it can be a nightmare trying to catch these guys. I try to keep a separate aquarium just for those bad guys. Love your large aquarium it's beautiful. Thank you so much.

They are around 6 months old. They were both the same size when I bought them. One out grew the other one.

@@DiscusNT yes same here nobody here sale any special fish. I've had to order most of my fish. All we really have here is PetSmart. They're usually hit and miss with their selection.

Your tanks are looking fantastic! Even the one with the tannins leaking from the wood. It happens. One of mine did the exact same thing. I believe that it's happened at least once to most everyone. And it really doesn't make the tanks look bad just different. Some people in the hobby love the look and will put leaves and nut shells and all kinds of things in their tanks to give it that "black water" look. On purpose. LOL 😆. I'm kind of in the middle and not sure if i like that look. I've seen some that look amazing and some that look not so amazing. So..........🤷♀️.

I love to buy big fish tank in petsmart store. But when it come to buy fish i don't recommend because all petsmart and petco store their fish are all garbage.

Where did you get your lid?
from home depot made from hermocleaitr comes in a 48 in. x 96 in. x 1/4 in. (6mm) Clear Multiwall. Polycarbonate. It's just a little expensive but it works great. light weight and very strong.
So Danny how much Epsom salt are you putting in the bags? I've never done a salt bath so I'm just curious
If i have sick fish in one of the aquariums 1 tbsp per gallon. And multiply that for whatever size of tank you are medicating. It's quite a bit of salt when you are doing a 300 or 500 gallon aquarium. I've done this before. I'll usually do a salt bath like two or three days before the water changes. It's just a way to Purge their system out.
Sorry it's 1 table spoon per 3 to 4 gallons.
For instance the bags had about half a quart of water I was using about half a teaspoon of salt it's only for 25 to 30 minutes..

I'm not sure if you can buy them already set up on a stone. My plants are from hobby lobby. All I did was drill a hole into the stone above 1 1/2" deep depending on the size of the base of the plate.

I love geophagus species of fish. All of the genus's. I believe I said that right. Lol. Hey, have you heard of " Ron's Cichlids ?" It's a father and son team, and all they do are cichlids. Every type that there are. Even rare and uncommon ones. John and Lisa from KJTropicals very highly recommend Ron and son for their cichlids. I just thought I'd pass the info along in case you had never heard of them before. I thought that maybe it could be a good source of cichlids and you might be interested. If not, then I'm sorry and hope you're not upset with me. Your new fish are pretty. Can't wait to see them full grown. Congratulations. 😊
