On my typewriter I use a l for one the use . Then go back then put a ' for !

I have an electric typewriter which is a different experience to that of a manual. The other day I filled out a form I got in the mail with it. I did a good job on it except for on my address. I wrote the name of my community in all caps. This was what I intended to do. I live in Canada and just as the USA has two letter postal abbreviations for states so do we with our provinces. I went to put a comma between my community name before typing "SK" for Saskatchewan. What I didn't realize was my caps lock was still on. The question mark and the comma were apparently on the same key. So it looked like I was questioning where I lived. My decision was to carry on and hit space. I wrote SK and then used a little bit of correction tape on the question mark. Unless you looked really hard it looked well done.

I’m glad you have found peace in where you are. Maybe you can track hobbies, if you do feel like tracking anything! Then you can look back and say, this whole purple streak was when I was crocheting a lot, or here’s the time when I was watching all those documentaries about theatrical costume design… the goal being to make time for things you enjoy.

You tried and you got more words down than you would have without trying.x

Happy New Year! That is a great poem. If you’re not necessarily writing much, or not wanting to do writing vlogs and have pressure on your writing, but you are thinking about writing and trying to spend more time reading, you could make videos (or podcasts!) about tropes, character archetypes, stuff like that. I’d definitely be interested in your thoughts on those topics.

I don’t often reread books either, but I do really enjoy it when I do.

Ah love that window view, not much help when it comes to ideas how to block the wires but keep the view! And yeah kitties and desks and such never go well. I say that with a kitty on my desk right now purring!

Maybe a low bookcase in front of your desk could block some of the wires from view while providing a home for some plushies? As far as the chair, I’d keep it there, and keep an eye out for a cool vintage chair to replace it with someday. It’s really coming together! I love the color of the little table in front of the window.

Watching at midnight after a hectic Thanksgiving day. I have not always won and I think realizing you need to shift gears is a beautiful thing. I love that you wrote some great banter and hope that you’ll be excited to see where this project takes you at a time when you aren’t feeling pressured about it!

You do what you need to do. I did and won Nano for 8 years, '07 to '14, then failed 15, skipped 16, failed 17, and didn't do it again until last year. It felt good to be back in 21, but I was also really glad I took that break. This year is going well-ish, but it's still a lot. I'm definitely being very careful of myself this year and not pushing it. You'll come back to it, or you won't. Either way, the important thing is being true to yourself.

I'm very proud of you for making this decision! Taking care of yourself is important! 💖

I think it's really important to acknowledge that you need time and space for yourself that isn't writing loads to win NaNo when you have other, important things going on. It's okay to take the time to rest, to recharge and be okay with not doing the 50K. 💜

I’m so used to you guys brainstorming live that I kept wanting to type in the chat as you went! Okay, first, I love this story and am totally invested already. Second, you said that after his change of heart and change of behavior he had started to make “real” friends… so although at first he thinks the antagonist is the blogger, and then is afraid E is the blogger, it could be someone he thought was a good new friend. I love Hugo getting E drunk being the reason for E spilling the beans. And I had already had the thought of “write something about yourself but NOT about one specific other person” before Markus said it because… apparently we are both better at criminal masterminding than our wholesome exteriors would lead you to believe? And lastly, what if Hugo decides that if the scandal is coming out, he can get ahead of it and do the right thing by owning up to it himself first? That would show character growth, and not get him off without being held accountable.

I'm very basic when it comes to plotting, she says while doing one if her chapter plans ready for NaNo!
