You know what it is? Going from a Ground unit to a Wing unit, your leadership style HAS to change. I noticed anytime I went to units overseas, the Marines are just different...more laid back. In some of those situations where ALL the Marines messed up, the NCOs would get smoked. A lot of times of you let stuff slide too much, they think they can always get away with stuff when it comes to you. Writing a Marine up as a counseling, doesn't hurt them. THAT'S where you messed up. Instead of verbally telling them they did wrong, you should've put pen to paper after the 2nd time with same issue. Not saying NJP because there are steps that could've been used to address the issues. I guess the problem was not having the support you needed from YOUR leadership. We had a Marine on my unit that had mental health issues and we got him the help he needed while on island, but he expressed wanting to leave so, that's what happened. I couldn't tell you where that Marine is or if he got out afterwards. I just know that from a commanders standpoint, he tried his best to help. I'm not sure yours did, listening to your story.

This is tough to listen to. It’s incredibly sad. People make mistakes. I don’t know a sailor, soldier, marine, or airman that hasn’t made a mistake. The current generation of military aren’t able to handle little picks and the older generation sometimes takes it too far. Life happens. We can’t accommodate to everyone and not everyone is gonna like each other. I think the current military is going to continue to have some growing pains with this new world we walk in.

I will admit when I first saw this video I had no idea where you were going with this. But after watching the whole video I understand. I read the comments and agree with what was said. Especially the part where you are given a task and get out the way. I showed you my process in Okinawa and you took it and improved it tremendously. This man here can handle adversity better than most people I know. He always makes room to chat, but more importantly, to listen with a purpose. He has his issues, we all do, but owns as we all should. Great work ethic and can accomplish any mission when supported properly. I don’t think that I’ve ever deep down regretted joining the Marine corps, I’ve been spiteful because of some stuff we’ve had to, but after growing up a bit it made me realize how grateful I am for it and everyone I’ve met. I’m glad you were there at the recruiting office, your one of the only recruiters I know who hasn’t fallen off the face of the earth after they recruited someone. Keep the grind up man, I believe in you that you’ll be able to be the motivational comedian.
