3 months. Thank you for the information and inspiration
Years at least. Just in time too. Daughter going to college soon and this is the way I want her to remember me when she leaves, as well as behave in college. Liver healing, early Alzheimer’s fading, family happier, me too.
Three weeks in This really helping me 🙏
Title VII of the federal law- please read
This video is so worth it! I love to hear others who struggle/struggled, it helps tremendously to not feel alone and you hit it on the head when you discussed friends. We haven't told others but when we do I hope they still accept us but if they don't, then that's ok too. Many blessings to you and being brave to put out there.
I had a panic attack I thought I was having a heart attack and realized it was the stress from the toxic work environment
You are beautiful
Giiirrllll you don't look a day over 33! I'm also getting bunion surgery on my left foot after many years in the not so distant future, thank you for sharing your story
Good luck to you.
Thank you!
Good stuff Jamie!! Alcohol made this occur a few times in my past. I overreacted and later felt such shame and humiliation. Alcohol is out of my life now. I really like the 4/8 breathing technique. Thanks
Thank you 🙏
100℅. Agree with you , but I could have concentrated more if you were not dam attractive .
I am leaving a toxic working environment after 15 years. Its a specialised area. I am 52 and would need to unskill in a different area 😢❤. It's scary being hospitalised 4 times with anxiety, kept going back into it got well, then would get unwell again because of the job. Just can't do it anymore 😢
It’s not worth it
This story really resonates with me. 10 years but I’m still here trying to move but the supervisor who is my bully interferes with any job offer he has knowledge I have. I work in a field that everyone knows everyone. So he has knowledge of my job offers. It’s hard, damaging, my kids are affected bc I’ve been in the hospital every year at least 4 times. I get so sick with terrible, terrible stomach pains chest pains that every time I’m at the ER or hospitalized I get a CAT scan. I’ve gotten so many that I am scared for my future because radiation is not good. I haven’t had a vacation because I’m assigned so much work that I cannot keep up so my weekends and nights I’m working just to not give this bully the win as he tries to rape me up for anything sometimes I feel I’m dying there’s nobody that can help me and I cannot quit my job because I’m a single mom.
I watch many videos about alcohol bcuz you are my people. No one understands us like us. I was just thinking about the new youtube shows I've subscribed to this year or shortly b4 already. You and a few health and fitness fellas. You're like new friends and I look 4ward to seeing your faces. Especially faces like yours! God bless you and thanks, you are helping many!
I was very surprised to see how much Annie Grace took from Allen Carrs previous work. Borders on plagiarism. His Quit Drinking Without Willpower was THE game changer for me!
Thank you so much for sharing. ❤. Very helpful and inspirational.
My biggest problem. 255am. Woke up.....grrrrrr
Good video, good reminder. Still not drinking .❤
I stayed at a toxic environment for 13 years and left last May. I am experiencing what I dubbed “exit wounds” bc I am surprised at how it still affects me and how sad I am that I stayed so long and about everything I experienced.
I’m so sorry! It took me a while to heal too.
Thank you for the video. It was too late for me and I hit chronic burnout, thought I had a brain tumour. Just shows the strong can still get caught in the toxicity. Once I asked myself who am I thats when I realised these people were never my kind of people, no support, felt alone and always giving to my team but my bucket dried up because it never was replenished. Look after yourself is what I have learnt but dont back down get your union involved and get it all known and out there, thats my parting gift I am going through. Its the culture and name and shame.
So true! The stress mimicking illness and injury!!
I raised concerns about a new employee, oh boy that was the trigger and it was all down hill from there. They will group together and use every means available on you until you give up. Also HR is your enemy everytime, they are only there to protect the company and not you.
I agree. ☝️
No, HR will NOT help you. Do not waste your time.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm 18 months sober, and I also had a comeapart at the 1 year point. I've finally come to realize that being sober is being a bad-ass. These days I'm nothing but proud about my choice.
So proud! We will wake up tomorrow fresh and ready for 2025
Or the toxic workplace which ended your employment through a false promotion after many years of loyal service, followed by a fast ramp up of demand and workload very unlike the previous pace and previous merit compensation rates, followed by a sudden litany of hit-list complaints setting off a PIP, followed by demands to set your own PIP protocols, followed by months of micromanagement with constant reminders that they aren't micromanaging and it's all up to you, followed by termination because ultimately there were some improvements but it wasn't good enough (because it wasn't supposed to be good enough). Then months of infrequent nightmares, lack of restful sleep, inability to put out the effort required to return to a paying job because it all feels like a repeat, and dwindling savings account and rising cost of living, and loss of friendships unrelated directly to the job, and here you sit.
I can relate! Toxic workplaces are very destructive
So beautiful 😍
Thank you 😊
How do you cope if you left a toxic environment of 25 years in a row, and basically all your previous jobs were toxic and you are severely burnt out? How do you find a new job? How do you go to work again when you cannot get out of bed and there is noone who is there for you? That is a vod I would like to watch.
I will work on making a video on this topic because it is so hard. When we are hurt in a toxic work environment we take that toxicity with us. So learning to let that go with grounding work (journaling, meditation, exercise and being in nature ect..) can help. You need to heal and that takes work. There is a RUclipsr named Jennifer Brick and she makes a lot of videos on toxic work environments and healing. ❤️🩹
I got terminated after standing up to my toxic management
I’m so sorry! Something much better will come to you!
Ended a 6 year relationship that I was totally drunk and unhappy in. I was thinking about my next bottle of wine when I realized I was drinking because I was so unhappy! I’ve started over single and decided I’m not unhappy anymore! 7 days sober. I feel blah and not sleeping well but I know this change is for the better! Feeling excited of what’s to come!
I’m happy for you! You sound very brave and strong! Yes- you will feel much better after a few weeks and sleep is much much better!
It’s been a month for me since it ended. So good to read thru the comments and know I’m not alone. Thank you for saying talk to yourself as you talk to your best friend. In the past month I doubled my efforts to talk to others and help others. What I have been telling others were so much more kind than what I told myself
True! Positive self talk is important!
I’m currently working in a hospital that is toxic it’s been nine months of hell it’s affecting me physically and mentally I’m looking for other work haven’t found it. I work with a bunch of ass wipes who bully me and I will be sueing the hospital if they fire me tomorrow due to me being in a protected class/disability. I left a job that I really loved to take this hospital job to try to learn about my career, catch up on bills to save my dog who had malicious cancer and my dog died recently what a shit show I got myself into. I feel like a real idiot myself. Thank you for the video it helped.
I’m so sorry! I made this video because I really suffered too and it is sooo hard! Obviously the toxic behaviors are all about them and not you but that really doesn’t help! It feels so bad and can hurt your self esteem so much! Sorry you have to go through all of this and I’m so sorry to hear about your sweet doggie ❤️🩹
Amazing teaching!
Thank you!
New sub here. 20 days sober. I prayed on this for months before I actually quit on November 20. I have had no anxiety or any withdrawals. I am shocked because I drank hard liquor, rum and coke for at least 35 year (which is the time I actually got into an every day habit) but have been drinking since I was 14. I’ll be 65 in April…that’s a long time. It got worse since retirement and over time the shots in the glass doubled. Blackouts started happening. I had to look at my phone to see if I talked to anyone or texted anyone…
You're doing amazing! So happy for you!
I'm so glad you spoke about the shame you felt to tell anyone that you're sober. I really thought that's just me who feels this way. Thank you so much for your helpful videos!
Thank you!
Still not drinking, looking for others for continuing support "Sobriety doesn't open the gates of Heaven to let you in. It opens the gates of Hell to let you out"
Good for you! I’m 33 days sober
Congratulations! I'm only 10 days sober. God bless & keep on going. I'm feeling better. Still miss my wine but all good.
@RobinGoesCamping Awesome! It does get easier, and eventually not even a thought. And the days are happier
@irenekotarac1346 Fantastic! Almost half a month!
How are you doing? I am 8 days in and I never want to go back
Thank you!! Going to my very 1st party sober tonight. Your videos are great and they have helped me on my journey ❤
Sending you all the good vibes for your first sober party!🎉 So happy for you!
My family says Ohhh just dont drink, then they go to work, school and leave me alone in the house 7am to 8pm. What else am I going to think about? Nothing on tv. I clean the house everyday, all day. The laundry, the sinks, bathrooms floors. The kitchen, wash the cars, there's nothing else to do. Nothing on tv. I know open a bottle of wine or 2. There 12 hrs before anyone comes home. I'm all alone. Nobody will know
Nobody but you ❤️🩹

I liked AA, it made me realize, feel, i wasnt alone, we can support each other, and the days are occupied with positive activities, personalities, etc
AA is wonderful!
I liked AA, it made me realize, feel, i wasnt alone, we can support each other, and the days are occupied with positive activities, personalities, etc. Anyway, 2 years, maybe 3 without a drink. I lost count. Sad. Maybe not.
True!
Wow thank you for sharing. VERY similar stories. My dad was an alcoholic when I was a child, but quit when I was 13. So what did I do? Picked up where he left off. Stole Coors Lights out of his fridge to get ready for a school dance. Used it as a social crutch from then on. My 20s were bad. Got married at 33, became a mom and tapered off. But I can still binge esp in social situations. No one realizes how much I am having, because I tolerate it. It’s like part of my personality. My husband is similarly oblivious as yours was. We went to his company holiday party, open bar. He had 3 drinks, I had 7, but operated on the same level. This needs to be it. It’s almost 2025. I’m turning 40. Thinking about telling my parents as well, but it’s going to be so emotionally painful. Especially if they start holding me accountable.😮💨
Ah yes, telling the family is a big step! Sounds like you are there
101 days Sober! I have a strong support system so I am thankful!!! I really don’t know how I got thru my days before I quit drinking!!!
So great! Happy for you and yes, how did we live before??
Dutch bros coffee is the most abusive company I’ve ever worked for.
I won’t go there then!
Left a toxic workplace after 14 years. I never had dreams/nightmares about the place until I left it, and now have them regularly.
A toxic workplace is so hard to recover from!
Dreams are one of the ways to heal. We can do it! Good luck
I’m 39. Started at 13. Really picked up in lockdown. I’ve stopped twice before for 40 days. I’m on day 2 of forever …..terrified but hopeful 🙏🏽
I’m hopeful for you too!
Thanks Jamie, Coming up 7 months since the first time I was here. I'm staying strong, mindful, focused.I can always relate to your points ( beer for wine) , Keep going, you are definitely helping people.Thank you.
Thank you 😊
I'm over 5 months sober, it's not easy but worth it. Just keep going, I have AA and a sponsor now so I have support
This is awesome! AA is such an amazing community!
My big wake up call was when I got a breathalyzer and one morning I felt completely sober, I blew into the breathalyzer out of curiosity and I was still over the legal limit to drive. I apparently drank so much the night before, my 6 to 7 hour sleep wasn't long enough to even process the alcohol. That was really shocking. I was probably driving drunk to work for over a decade and didn't even know it.
That is wild! Scary too!
Thanks for this video. Im 6 days sober after the 2nd time of losing everything I have. The worst part for me is the tiredness and true exhaustion!
Soooo tired!
I am struggling w/the loss of a friend. It's so hard but without the alcohol, we just have zero in common.
It is really hard. I struggled with that too.
This is so timely for me and I really appreciate your honesty and for sharing the path with others 🙏🏻 I am nearly 4 months in and been struggling a bit recently - with one drink at the 3.5 month mark. Starting to understand that its a lot more than just refusing the drink, its learning how to be with emotions and situations without any buffer… life in sharp focus without the comforting blur that alcohol provided. Also learning to reconceptualise special occasions as alcohol was always an essential and ‘treat’ so to go without feels a bit blah right now! Thanks again for keeping it real and best wishes to you for a cosy, joyful holiday season 🌺✨
You said everything so eloquently! It’s true that life feels dull for a while and that’s because our brains need to start releasing dopamine without the alcohol. It takes time for that. Happy holidays!
Thank you for the inspiration! I am 3 months sober and made it through my first sober Thanksgiving! The longest sober time I had was 6 months last year after dry January. My husband is a heavy drinker, so that is challenging but I am determined!
My husband is too! We are strong and a good example ❤️
@@Jamieinjanuary🙏
I compare it to a break up. In many ways I broke up with my drunken self. Once in awhile I'll get that voice in my head saying - "Hey! You have nothing going on today, why don't you just buy a 12 pack?" I just have to remind myself that it never ends well. I'm going to have a stupid hangover and I'm probably going to piss someone off on Facebook and it's such a waste of money. That 12 pack won't be enough, I'll just walk to the store when I'm out and buy more beer.
I love everything you just wrote! All so true! It is a break up and people just don’t understand how hard it really is!
The freedom to drive is a huge one!
The best!!
