Questioning God If He Was Real? “I’ve got some questions for you” They’re always taken aback by it cause they expect you to say “I’d drop to my knees and repent and beg for forgiveness” no I’m asking the mother fucker “why cancer? Why diseases of any kind? Why such tremendous heart break and emotional pain? To make me stronger? For what? The other pain you created? Out of all things why any of this on innocent children? You could’ve gave all hardships to adults but you chose random children to grow up with cancer? To grow up with aids? To live in places that have insects and animals constantly trying to kill them? Or places that haven’t stopped seeing a bomb in their entire life? You claim to help those who pray and worship you yet still turn your back on countless people but give your help to those who can spread your name. And who even down there is getting it right? You have countless followers that believe different things, who’s right? Do I have the freedom of choice because of Eve? Or is my entire life predestined? If it’s predestined then you PURPOSELY put people into a place of never ever getting into heaven. Your followers have caused chaos and destruction in your name and all you do is sit back and watch. I wanted to believe in you, your religion sounded awesome to me as a child, be kind to everyone just go to church and be happy love your neighbor, but all I see from most of your followers is the exact opposite and they invoke your name for it. You abandoned us long ago, so I’ll gladly sit in the deepest depths of hell as long as it means I’m far away from you. Plus Lucifer doesn’t sound like a bad guy, just some dude who asked a pretty good question.

I have a condition or disorder called MCS which is invisible. I'm not normal but I think not having any reactions to toxins is not normal. I saw the tornado interview and hoped I'd see much more of her, making rounds on TV. This is the first x seeing her since then. Good to know she is doing well

OMG! There it is at 21:57........the religion teaches you to lie! I have been saying that since I walked away at 16, over 45 years ago. You have no say when you are born into a religious cult. I just remember seeing the hypocrisy at a young age of what was "preached" in the sermons and what I observed with my own eyes. I used to get in trouble for asking why or how come. I learned to stop asking and to just parrot back what they wanted to hear. I turned 16, got a job at Denny's, bought a $150 Ford Pinto that ran, and got the hell out! Unfortunately, being steeped in the cult during the formative years had an affect on the wiring in my brain. Something I am aware of when I fight the inner policing-voice that questions my right to have this great life I worked for and created. Thanks for a great video!

What author is missing is the ability to approach same topic using diff. frameworks thus thinking they all have same / similar problems like Judeo-Abrahamics & ofcourse that is the case since the questioning depends upon presuppositions one has. As modernity & it's institutions like academia presuppossed Judeo-Abrahamic theology as universal thus universalizing Judeo-Abrahamic issues to non-Abrahamic cultures lead to blind spots, Eurocentrism & so many other issues..... One of the most prominent example of this is Buddhist studies. Historically Buddhists institutions never questioned if Buddha existed or not but it became a central point of enquiry after colonial contact, now consider why is that the case ?

I'm a life long atheist, I dabbled in some bhuddist philosophy when i was a teen but never got into the mystical stuff. However, I did always assume that there was some truth behind all the myth until I saw a 3 part documentary based on the "Bible Unearthed" book by Israel Finkelstein, the fact that those guys set out looking to prove the basic history of the torah and then concluding that it's all nonsense just blew my mind. After that I came to the conclusion that it's turtles all the way down, including Jesus, Muhammed et al. It's been nice to have the tools and arguments that I've picked up from David and Dr Carrier to bolster my position. I also think the idea of monotheism is a bit of a misnomer. Monotheism is just polytheism but we only call onr being "god" and the rest angels etc. Its no different structurally. If the Greek gods had been the ones to survive, we would have Zeus and his angels instead of Yahweh, thats it. You can even draw parallels between the greek/roman gods and Yahwehs angels. Metatron, the voice of god, is Mercury/Hermes, for instance.

It’s so true what he brought out about JWs believing in different versions of God. Even the bible portrays God having different personalities. It’s all so disconcerting isn’t it.

Great vid. I come from parents who were mormon then js then hippie ill check whatever church this is. There has been trauma from all of it. Some more than others. My family is very much a part of my life but I struggle with their religious views and I feel that it is harmful to me. I'm at a loss.

Yes sometimes people of other faiths that leave say they get the similarities which r there. True. But only a jw or ex jw fully gets it. Wecspeak the same language. Im also female, but still feel your genuiness n truth. So much of u is me, but u woke u far, far earliest than me. From the beginning when u talked u captivated me from beginning to end. Im so glad u finally found a beautiful wife. But from the beginning i knew there was a big chance your beautiful family u walked about fondly would disown u. I hoped so much, your not disfellowshipped (now called removed.....new lightva few week's ago with psnts, no ties, beards n no reporting. U look about my sons age n atm no children (u never mentioned having kids). Sadly my husband is still a witness, so my offer to u, u may decide, no thank u. He has a boy about your age, 2 young kids, a girl 9 n a boy 5. They live close by. U said u have a close nit grp of friends. I can never replace your mum or father n i would never try. My mother died when i was 10 n my dad remarried. Shevwas his wife; never our mother. I have siblings. But if u need a substitute mother now or in the future i would be more than willing to be that for u n a substitute nanna if children come along later. Always in hope that your biological parents have a change in heart in the future. I sincerely believe that ubdont realize it yet but your honest true story is going to help soooo many young people. Its going to give them the courage to say im not going crazy (the religion can literally put u into bipolar) or some other depression to mental condition. N this happened to u when u started cutting yourself. Others go further n commit suicide. Me it was bipolar, but im perfectly fine now n extremely calm n happy. Waking sat n having the day to ourselves; ex jws relate to that. If my husband ever leaves ive told him we r opening our house to helping ones (esp young n loose everyone) getbon their feet. Ive heard of others doing this in america. But sadly hes still in. Our past creates who we r now n everythingvwe go through in life can make usca better kinder more compassionate person. When i was fully in as a faithful goody, goody jw my son came home one day n ill never forget what he said. Mum, im a good person, good husband, good father (he adores his children n does much for them n with them). We could never ask forba better boy who turned into a beautiful father. His daughter 9 has qualified for state running. He goes running with her to help her. His 5yr old son has decided to join the action. Hes no exception. Many parents out therevr doing greatvjobs withbtheir kids n they aint jws. But those talks in the kh re the birds of heaven eating their freshly parts after they r destroyed attacking at armageddon i believe made me mentally ill on 2 different occasions. ............ I visualised our son n grankids n my beautiful neighbour being destroyed bc they ain't jw. Why save me, im no better than them id think to myself. Jw teachingnis jah draws u. My mother studied with them, not me. But your a child n this is all u know n for stupid me, i tried to indrocrinate same into our child. Getting back to what my son said that day he came home. Mum if im not good enough for God, then he doesnt deserve me". I still stayed a fading jw for a few more yrs but i never forgot that. Another time he came home n tears in his eye's, he said mum had i been babtized would u have disowned me. This was b4 kids. I said never. He said mum your not a jw then. The rules r to cut me out of your life, like im dead. I repeated never. If i had to choose btw u n the religion id choose u. Nothing will separate u from me n noone will tell me i cant associate with u. He left. But its not until i fully left myself that i can see the damage that i did to his brain trying to indrocrinate something was indrocrinated into me. My pimo friend msged me yesterday n saidbpls give me your opinion, i feel its time to come clean with my grown kids. Hes done his researchbon finances etc......nursing homes.....all the big stuff.....much more than our history. We r close friends n both left at the same time. When i 1st saw his beard, i honestly didnt mean to be rude but i burst out laughing n said u look like father christmas. On hols all my married life hed grown a beard. Shaved it for meetings. As soon as the gb changes policy .......beards galore. Grown men being given permission......its like they r in kindergarden.
