Sur Mandal is an initiative of to preserve, promote and popularise Indian classical music (Hindustani classical music, to be precise) in Pakistan. We organise public concerts and private recitals at our own place, featuring some of the best Pakistani musicians. We occasionally post our originally organised and recorded performance videos here on this channel.
Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan | Raag Bageshri | Khayal Gayaki | Lahore
Ustad Muabarak Ali Khan saheb was a classical vocalist from Lahore, Pakistan who considered Ustad Amir Khan saheb of the Indore Gharana as his spiritual guru. He came from a traditional family of musicians and was widely loved among classical music connoisseurs of Pakistan. He left us in 2020 but his legacy continues, through his disciples and nephews Akbar Ali and Javed Bashir. This performance took place in Lahore in August, 2017.
