bicycle.restoration no 2 - Stricker sportbike - part II - chapter II
Welcome to bicycle.restoration no 2 - part II - chapter II
Hope you enjoyed chapter I.
In chapter II you can see how I used a cheap stainless rear fender for the front. Reshaped an cutted the ends so it looks like nearly lijke one of those old french fenders or some Honjos.
Also made a socket on the front rack to hold the front fender and also a special part on the lathe for the fork crown mounting.
The front lamp is one of the last original parts from the Stricker. Really like the shapes of it. Polished the housing a bit and overhold the inner parts.
Painted the glass with a yellow glaze, it looked horrible. So i immediately cleaned it and at the same time the glass broke. Had to make a new o...

Welcome to bicycle restoration no 2 - part II, finally! First of all, sorry that it took so long to get part II finished. A lot of has happened in the meantime. And somehow this project did get a little out of hand. Some of the original ideas have changed, some have never been done. Because of some technical problems I had to split part II into two chapters. Don’t ask why, that’s the way things...

Watch the beginning of a detailed restoration and rebuilt of an old Sportbicycle from 1950 with new and some NOS parts. Welcome to my second video - bicycle restoration no 2 - part I. This time I restore or rebuild a „Stricker” Sportbicycle. I got this bike very cheap from a collector in the neighboring village together with a Torpedo ladies bike last year. The frame number is 479711. So it is ...
bicycle restoration no 1 - NSU from 1955

This is my first video on RUclips. Many years ago I started to restore old bicycles. About one year ago I began the photographic documentation of my restorations on Instagram (take a look @bicycle.restoration). In the middle of April 2019 I bought a cam and started to film the restoration of a NSU touring bicycle. It is something completely different from just taking pictures to make a video. O...
I save this video and watch it when I need inspiration. It truly is a great piece of work. I hope one day you might make another! Thank you for this.
Where have you gone ?
What did you use to clean the frame?
Thanks so much for skipping the muzak that ruins so many of these videos. Just the sound of the work is delightful
Your camera angles are waaaaaaay too close.
cool
Great job!!! I am also currently restoring an NSU from the 1940s. Could you please tell me the tool you used to remove the cap from the bottom bracket? Thank you!
Slippery hardwood grips on a bike?? Hell Nooooooo Spoon brakes still in 1955?? LOL hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha ... PERFECT SA drum brakes came out in 1930. PRO tip to tension the chain>>> There is always a slack/ tight orientation, so turn the crank till it gets to the tight spot on top by the cog, then slack it off. Nice it doesn't have dumb cotters. Otherwise, awesome work. 4 years later, does it look like crap again?? LOL. Ridiculous how few guys can fix/ lube their bikes. I love my rubber boot flaps, have one behind the rear bridge as well hanging a couple inches below the chain. All my bikes are IGH now, 2 have my DIY CF chain covers. I ride them any highway, any distance my legs will go. In high school I rode a hand-me-down SS Rudge that was antique in 1968. LOL.
Even until 1961 bicycles with spoon brakes were manufactured. This bicycle is exactly from 1955
That beautiful carpet in the workshop! Does it get oil and rust on it?
to violent ,destroying
perfect.....
Super !
Hi, I've watched all of your videos with great enjoyment. in this bicycle NSU there is a very rare and unusual bottom bracket, can you please tell me the name of this bottom bracket. It would be lovely to see another video from your collection, Kind regards Ted
Nice work, if you let parts soak in evapo rust, takes the rust right off the parts
Purer Schwachsinn !!!

Excellent work and a joy to watch while pedaling on rollers on a cold rainy day! Thanks also for the real sounds of the process.
Wonderful restoration! Thanks for complimenting the work with a great video and for the natural sounds of tools at work.
3:23 dont even try
👍🚲👍🇺🇦👍🚲👍
Awesome restoration. Maybe you can use sealed bearing for the bottom bracket instead caged bearing
Really Nice work. Got on question about the bottom-bracket remover seen around 4:55. Is it custom build or from where you got it? All the best
It's nice to watch, it's a pity that the channel is abandoned, I would really like to see new videos with the same approach
Very🤩👋 Naice
Tank👍 iu. 👋Very 💌 Good
neckarsulm union , german engineering , bicycles , motorcycles & automobiles , from the time when quality was more important than quantity , you should have kept the seat
That bike sure was 'well used' over its close to 70 years of existence ! Thanks to this restoration.. probably good to go for another 70 !!
I'm very impressed with your thoroughness but in contrast it looked like a pretty clumsy removal of the seat post. I just finished rebuilding a Norwegian bike from 1944. It had been out in the weather near the ocean for many years. I'll tell you, removing screws and nuts was a whole other story than you show here.
Exelente trabajo..me a servido para mis restauraciones
Thank you. It was in time for guests.
This is a good lesson on how to be patient to achieve a goal.thanks.we need more.
Awesome
A true craftsman and invaluable work, congratulations
A beautiful capsule of my favourite pastime. Riding is great fun too..😊
Qué hermosa bicicleta ... y qué buen trabajo!!
Send me your old seat if you don't like it. Rerally!
👌👌👌🌸✌❤🤩
Poxa!
I love this video! This is focused work and can be hard at times. One of the things I enjoy doing while I work on bikes is exploring great albums from past decades, generally I used my ear buds but eventually I’ll set up my stereo with CD and records. When I hit the right album it seems to add a lot of energy to my work.
please keep uploading, amazing work!
U broke the lamp 😂🤦♂️
AAAAAH!!!! Where's the finished bike?!?!?
A beautiful love story performed by a patient woman and a patient man ! Thank you for happy ending 😭
She's been waiting on that park bench for 3 weeks, she's gonna be gettin' "hangry!"

Eccellente restauro. Complimenti vivissimi. CIAO
