Thanks for this, great content. Working my way through the academy now, keeping an eye out for Black Friday coupons!
Hey Ryan, Great video! Just starting out in a pen-testing role soon moving from a Networking based role. I also had the concern that the real world would be much more difficult as you know in a CTF that something IS vulnerable. Since you know that CTF is vulnerable then i'd imagine it is way easier to keep hacking away whereas in the real world I'd imagine it's not as straightforward. Also, ideas for content would be top 5 burp suite extensions and top 5 things you wish you knew before starting as a pentester. Anyways I have subbed :-)
19:20 they now have a thing called "Mystery lab challenge" which fixes this problem

Thanks for your review. I'm having my 3rd attempts today, hopefully your tips help
How'd it go?
Hello, I am working my way through the PortSwigger academy as we speak. Previous to this I have spent a good amount of time on THM. I was curious, do you need to be a JavaScript pro to pass this exam? I currently know basics but I do not code myself. The solutions provide code to exploit the vulnerabilities. If I build a cheatsheet from the whole academy, would that be enough? I plan on learning python but I would like to tackle this cert first.
Hey! I think you don't have to be a JavaScript pro to solve them as it's not about only JavaScript or something that is only a part of the web so you kinda need to know the syntax and you can use it's own XSS cheatsheet to exploit the lab or maybe the exam too, so yeah I think you need to know all of them to be able to get the certificate
Thanks! Great review and insight
is the practice examen enough? any other tips to take in account? thanks
The practice exam is definitely not enough. I took it and solved it without too much issue. Although, it is great to give you and idea of what the real exam feels like.
thks for the review and tips.
Thanks for the review
